I'm still going to root for the success of the team, that will never change. With that said, I think this (if true) is a terrible move and agree with JSP about how short-sighted it is. In the Big Picture this year, we are not better than the Colts, Jags, Chiefs, Chargers, Steelers, Bengals, or Patriots no matter who we have at QB. So why not play the kid the entire year and let him figure out the game for god's sake?

I understand what I'm watching, and he's quite good. Again , when he's out there... The last place I look for information is via the media.

I can't argue about his pain threshhold at all, but what I do know is that when he's out there and healthy he is our best lineman.

Did everyone miss the part where MM said (I'm paraphrasing) "What I said on sunday has not changed" ? BTW Sunday he said "JP is the starter".

If you listen to the conference , MM merely states that he is not going to answer the same question he's already answered dozens of times. This to me says that JP will start.

VA, he's really not as distraught as you make him out to be. You can watch these interviews on the official site and take much of the speculation out of it.

For pulling a QB that needs to gain experience on the field, win loss or tie. A qb that will never become good unless he is allowed to play it out. I don't mind them pulling him in situations for a "spark", but not letting him start would be the wrong move IMO. I fully except them to start JP, regardless of what the media says.

If Holcomb plays over Losman this week, all bets are off as far as any respect I have for this coaching staff.

As good/not good as Drew has played so far, he's about to be looking at a 2-3 record. So what's changed?

People forget that just about all coaches who are good now had to start somewhere. Some had the opportunity to start off with talented teams, while others did not. Marv was considered a poor to average head coach during his days at KC. BB was run out of Cleveland. There are plenty of further examples of this. While I agree that the Bills have had exhibited some poor play-calling in recent weeks I certainly don't share the "all or nothing" or "black and white" view that many of you experts have regarding our current staff. I find that there are just as many examples of organizations who stuck with their staff even in times of peril, and benefited in the long run as there are teams who eternally shop for the quick fix.

Ridiculously premature beyond logic or reason. Considering there are 2 QB's EVER in the the history of the NFL who did not suck for a fair amount of time before the game slowed down for them.

re: Benny. Of course he's going to look terrible when you ask him to pass block on two thirds of the offensive plays. He is a run blocker through and through. Everybody knew this coming in and nothing has changed in that regard. When he's not in a situation that involves mostly running and play action he's going to look like crap. HE doesn't have the quick feet to hold up in constant pass protection.

Bill, I think I agree with you on Teague, as long as Preston is ready. While Teague has been steady for the most part he is still showing as a liability vs. inside blitzes. Anderson I think has played better than you are seeing, as most of Willis's bigger runs have gone through him, though he is showing some poor footwork at times vs. the pass rush. I can't say he's worse than Tucker. Gandy for the first time yesterday showed some lack of ability one on one vs. a good edge rusher. He has been solid run blocking though as well. His position could certainly be improved though he has played as well as can be expected. MW I think will be fine as long as he gets his butt on the field. The salary is a little high though I agree at this point, and he may have to restructure. Chris V I think is ok where he's at. Disclaimer: I am waiting for the coaches to take advantage of the run blocking abilities of this line to give them a chance, which they haven't done. Until that time, a complete assessment cannot be made IMO.

If it were looking on the field like the Bills were incapable of winning the games they've been in, then that's when you point to the GM. That is far from being the case here as there have been some lapses by players, Offensive, and Defensive coaches at different key times thus far. And no I'm not going to go there with the "well who hired these players and coaches? " because most of them have performed before.

The third down defense is a concern, but the offensive play calling today was awful. The saints at no point in the first 3 quarters ever showed any sort of ability to even slow Willis down. The coaches "out-cuted" themselves on that for sure. You don't go away from something that is working so well until it gets stopped. Sometimes even then you need to keep plugging. We should all expect JP to struggle at this point, but not the play calling.
