  1. Happy birthday. Have a great day. As long as you steer clear of Baltimore, you probably will.
  2. Have a great birthday. See you in a couple weeks.
  3. I look forward to it.
  4. My wife took her username from said sign, which has been hanging in that stadium since it opened. It was also hanging in Three Rivers Stadium prior to Heinz.
  5. Not quite. Any time. Darin's wife is Belinda. Maybe next year. We'll see.
  6. Another slow start followed by some gutsy play down the stretch. It's tough to realize that for this year, the cliches can actually work for Bills fans. Meaning, it isn't over 'til it's over and there is still hope for the team to turn it 'round after a slow start. As a fan of this team for nearly 30 years, this is a very welcome and refreshing trend. That Poznotchigazoaki kid, or however you say it, is a decent linebacker. He's still a work in progress, but he gives a great effort and pursues well. He can take poor angles @ times, but then again, so do the other 'backers. I don't happen to have a program or my media guide handy, so I can't recall their names. I know the one guy had some nice tackles for 5 yard gains though. Ironic, as so did the other guy who wore #59 before him. James Hardy is having a brutal frosh campaign. He's trying hard, but maybe too hard. Better focus and maybe a bit more of a relaxed attitude could probably help him out so that he makes those clutch catches and can become the go to guy for Edwards in the red zone. Josh Reed continues to make clutch plays, which is odd 'cause I'm sure I read somewhere here 'bout how he sucks. Oh, and the guy who wants the big bucks? Nice couple of catches (Trent put the ball in near perfect position each time), but there's still a few lapses in concentration. Still, is this a sign that he's getting back to form? I hope so. O line wise: the pass protection is still spotty, and the run blocking isn't great either. I'd love to see these big monsters just fire off the ball and take the D line back for 7 yards, which would allow Marshawn to get to the second level more often. Considering how well he runs w/ 5 D linemen on his back, how well do you think he'd do if he got past the line of scrimmage untouched? He's proven very tough to bring down and can make people miss in the open field too. I just wish I could see him get more of those chances. Trent Edwards really looks like the real thing. As I said earlier, those throws to Evans were a thing of beauty. He's only going to get better in terms of blitz recognition. It's a better situation than the Bills have been in for quite a while. We had a blast in St Louis. I only wish I could've met more TBDers before the game, but I was able to hang out a bit w/ Beerball (the wings @ that jazz club were awesome) and w/ Alaska Darin, his wife, and one of his good friends. Of course, I got to have nearly a week of vacation w/ my wife, Psycho Ward 86, which was easily the best part of the long weekend. Well, no travel for a weekend (thank God), so I can relax a bit and try to get caught up w/ my college football watching and reporting. Oh yeah, so the Bills are 4-0, huh????
  7. It all depends on how you use it.
  8. I am trying to see if we can put something together for Saturday night. I called the hotel we're staying @, the Omni Majestic, to see if they could spare a room to meet in, but I haven't heard back from them. Psycho Ward 86 and I are flying out to STL early tomorrow, so unless they get back to me this afternoon, looks like we'll have to come up w/ a backup plan.
  9. No need to be rude 'bout it.
  10. Bill from NYC has forgotten more 'bout O line petitions that many of you have ever learned.
  11. You were smart enough to bring Babyrock w/ ya.
  12. The Chia Ram rocked.
  13. Were you actually sober this time?
  14. We're 3-0??? Really??? Really??? Jason Peters didn't look very sharp once again, but neither did any other O lineman. The run blocking still isn't quite there. I still wonder why this team doesn't do more straight ahead drive blocking w/ the size of their line. Ah well, smarter men than I devise these schemes. I'll trust 'em to know the deal. What a run by Marshawn on the first TD. The guy is all heart. Trent Edwards shook off a not so stellar start to really make the difference down the stretch. I like the progress he seems to be making. He's not a finished product yet, but you have to be encouraged by the development. Okay, you don't have to.......but you'd better. For future reference: a play is over once the player scores by crossing the goal line. That's it. Done. No more. Thanks for playing. Posluszny had a much better performance in coverage than in the first game. I like his intensity and his hustle. Where did he play his college ball? Hmm.... The Raiders obviously made a point to stress special teams for this game. Well, it worked fairly well for them. Their special teams were very good. Lechler looked like the guy who has been punting in the wind tunnel known as RICH Stadium for a decade. The guy was clutch. Our return men were held in check for the most part also due to Lechler's punting. Since I'll be in attendance next week, here's to hoping the Bills' special teams get back to business. Lee Evans, you want a nice hefty contract? Show up. Back to Edwards. For a guy who doesn't have much of an arm, he sure has made some very nice throws on the too few occasions where the offense challenges opposing defenses down the field. Bottom line: we dominated in Week 1, found a way to win in adverse conditions (on the road, good team, blistering heat) in Week 2, and overcame a lackluster performance @ home to get another win in Week 3. In situations that many (myself included) probably would've just chalked up another heartbreaking Bills loss, they are getting it done. That is very encouraging. There's still plenty of things to work on, but I am still very thrilled @ the direction this team is heading in. I know it's very early, but the indicator is that this team certainly isn't the "same old Bills". Thank goodness. GO BILLS!
  15. I think it's fair to say that dissing the Bills isn't any fun. So, w/ that in mind, if we remove that part from the title of this thread...
  16. I remember someone giving me the same advice once upon a time. Even though the guy's a knucklehead, the advice helped.
  17. It's every drunken idiot's right to ruin the game experience of people who, in some cases, drive for hours just to go up to attend the games. How can the Bills be so cruel to them?
  18. No wonder I can sit and talk music w/ you for hours. Did I burn the BB King for you? I'm not sure (old age). I like that one a lot. BB may very well be the best live performer I've ever seen. Psycho Ward 86 bought me tickets to a BB King concert as a Christmas present once and when we went to the show, he made a groupie out of her. To the best of my knowledge, she had never heard his music before other than in commercials and such. Now, she tells ME when he's touring in our area...and usually buys the tickets once she finds out when the show is. The AiC Unplugged is still one of my all time favorites. People used to tell me that if I liked that one that I'd love the Nirvana Unplugged, but I don't. The Nirvana one is okay, it's just not as appealing to me as the AiC. The Stevie Ray? I can't thank you enough. Here's a few live albums I have and really like: Isaac Hayes: Live @ the Sierra Tahoe Liquid Soul: Liquid Soul Alice in Chains: Live Boogie Down Productions: Live Hardcore Worldwide Soundtrack: When We Were Kings Charles Mingus: Charles Mingus and Friends Marvin Gaye: Live!, Live @ the London Palladium War: Live Level 42: A Physical Presence
  19. Of course not. Kickers are irrelevant players (Martin Grammatica) who hardly ever have any impact on the game's outcome (Scott Norwood). They cannot be relied upon (Steve Christie), wouldn't know the meaning of clutch if you spelled it out to them (Adam Vinatieri), have absolutely no toughness @ all (Lou Groza, George Blanda), and certainly have no business even being mentioned for the Hall of Fame (Jan Stenerud).
  20. Hopefully not as short as busts like Mike Williams or washouts like Leonard Davis, Nathan Vasher, Derrick Johnson, Corey Redding, Casey Hampton, Phil Dawson, or Shaun Rogers.
  21. Well deserved. Although it took seemingly forever to get to that game last week due to the rain (missed the entire 1st quarter), it was worth it when Roosevelt caught that pass.
  22. Happy birthday to one of my college football forum regulars.
  23. Kinda like Flutie.
