  1. I think Clarke is phenomenal. Another bassist I really like is Wayman Tisdale. I've been listening to his debut "Power Forward" lately. I just had the urge to hear it again. Good stuff.
  2. Butch Davis, while a bad pro coach, would make a good candidate for the Miami job if they were to go that route. They could make a run @ one of the hot coaches out there now, like RICH Rodriguez of West Virginia or even Skip Holtz, who is doing a fine job @ East Carolina w/ very little to work w/.
  3. Good comeback win for "that school". Good thing there's plenty of time before the USC game to work on that secondary. It it doesn't improve, they may as well say they already have 2 losses. Like I said though, there's plenty of time. They just need to maintain focus and improve defensively.
  4. Possibly. Either way, we're out a cooler full of beer (Mmmm..........beeeeeeeeer!!!). Good thing I still have a job and can replace both the cooler and the beer (Mmmm......beeeeeeeer!!!!), huh?
  5. Why not? While I'm no Metallica fan, I do know that Cliff Burton was an outstanding bassist. But, to say he was better than Jaco Pastorious is just wrong. We missed ya, that's for sure. The trip was fine, other than the long ride home after a tough loss.
  6. Sale Of The Century, aka "Jeopardy For Retards"
  7. The greatest rock bassist, you mean?
  8. I stand corrected on Lewis. For some reason, I thought he was out 4 games that year. Nope, just one.
  9. Ease up on Preston. The guy has had to work @ both guard and center, and has been adequate for either spot. Like w/ JP, I think he needs time to settle in, be it @ guard (most likely) or center. If you just keep putting him in all over the place, he can't develop.
  10. I should've locked it up before we headed into the stadium. Oh well; it just proves that not everyone you meet from the boards is trustworthy (thief) or smart (me).
  11. Not much, other than he's had a history of injuries. Too bad, because he was fairly solid when he was in San Diego and healthy.
  12. I don't think our line is terrible in general. I don't think the interior pass blocking is very good, but considering the fact that they're new players (except for Villarrial, who I think is really slipping) in a new scheme, they're about par for the course. The run blocking is much improved across the line, and, as I said, that's a start (and a great one). I also think that Losman also needs to realize that while you don't need to take off all of the time, there are times when you can leave the pocket and do good things. A couple times, he moved out of the pocket to buy more throwing time when he may have been better off running and picking up what he could on the ground. That will come in time. The good thing is that this coaching staff seems willing to give him the time needed to develop instead of jerking him out of the lineup every other play.
  13. From what I saw, the guys were solid in their run blocking, but the pass blocking, especially from guard to guard, reeked. I guess I can let off of Gandy a bit too, as he looked okay (he didn't embarrass himself @ least). I saw Peters get beat pretty bad around end once, but he was fairly solid as well. But, we still have major pass protection problems in the interior. The run blocking looked good all the way across the line, I thought. Hey, it's a start.
  14. Yeah, he was out for quite a while that season he was on the cover of Madden, I thought. The curse is for real, much like "The Curse" for Penn State RBs was for real.......until Larry J finally broke it.
  15. Okay, let us know where your tailgate is, so we can crash it.
  16. Thank you, William. I am very much looking forward to hanging out w/ you and your crew next month. Oh, and I haven't forgotten about your PM. I will get back to you, in detail, once I return from the game.
  17. 3 Days And Counting!!! until the home opener!!!!!!! Psycho Ward 86 and I will be on our way to Rochester early tomorrow morning for the annual garbage plate (well, I will be having the plate). We won't have any access to a computer until we get back home, so I'll just take the time to say Go Bills! Let's start the season 2-1 in our division and whip the Jets!! See you all either @ Nick Tahou's tomorrow, Danny's on Saturday, or @ Hammer's Lot before the game.
  18. I like the Orchard Park location and have met some TBDers there the Friday before the opener over the past few years. Last year, I was in Erie and couldn't make it though. This year, I didn't think anyone was going, so I just planned to go to Duff's Saturday afternoon for lunch.
  19. 1. JÂy RÛßeÒ 2. Rockpile of course 3. Inkman 4. Aussie 5. Bruce from Texas 6. Psycho Ward 86 7. R. Rich 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15.
  20. I just wanted to take the time to tell my wife of 7 years now that I love her MTLI and always will. It's been a great 19 years being together and I look forward to many many more to follow.
  21. Yet, he still has a Super Bowl ring and an MVP trophy from that game. He didn't live up to expectations, sure. A bust (never worth a damn, ala Mike Williams)? No.
  22. Someone over in the Trading Post forum might want it. There's usually someone scrambling for last minute tickets there.
  23. Mmmm........spittle!
  24. I hear ya. Too much is made of winning a championship. It's wonderful, but let's not diminish the accomplishments of others because they never did win a title. Personally, I'd put Barry above any RB other than Jim Brown and Walter Payton, just ahead of Gale Sayers and TMEP.
  25. You're right, players are bigger, faster, and stronger now: ALL players, meaning not only the defensive players chasing RBs, but the RBs themselves. Put Jim Brown in Barry Sanders' era, and he is trained the same way Barry Sanders is. Considering how Jim Brown dominated his era (more than any RB has dominated ANY era), just imagine what he'd do in current times. The guy was able to rush for over 1,800 yards in 1963, w/ the training available to him @ the time. You think there's a chance that he could improve on that w/ the advancements made since then? I don't "hate" on posts, I just have respect for the game, meaning not just the guys I see on TV, but those who paved their way.
