  1. Maybe there won't be a need to trade down (@ least in the first round)??? If we do end up w/ a high to mid round pick, I sure hope it's for a pass rusher, IF there's one suitable for that pick, that is.
  2. Yeah, like professional poker.
  3. There are success stories on both sides of this argument, so it's not a case of one person being completely right and the other completely wrong. Sorry to spoil the fun.
  4. I'm sure you won't need it.
  5. Hold on, now; lemme get this straight: they have good wings, the bartenders are cool, it's rarely packed, AND we'll (Bill from NYC and crew, you, myself) all be there that weekend? Jack's Pub it is. What say ye?
  6. I know. You'd think someone around here would have mentioned something about staying in Canada/Niagara Falls by now:
  7. True, but the pass rush sure would help. Now, if they're getting that kind of heat often and our DBs can't come up w/ the turnovers (aka Thomas Smith's Disease), then I'd really start to wonder.
  8. My guess (and, of course, that's all it is: a guess) is that guys like Clements, McGee, Thomas, Youboty, Simpson, Wire, and Whitner don't feel that way. I'm sure they'd love to have better support via the pass rush so that they're not in coverage as long.
  9. Since I'm involved in fantasy football as well as a couple computer simulation leagues, I get interested in many games to track the progress of the players. I'll be watching the Niners-Chiefs game to see just how good Niner rookie LB Manny Lawson will do. He had 6 or 7 tackles in the first week (vs Arizona, a game I got to watch), and has had a couple sacks so far also. Some were saying that he could be "this year's Shawne Merriman", but I haven't seen anything close to that yet.
  10. Jack's Pub, huh? Will you and your group be staying near there? Maybe we could meet there before the Pats game and I can see how good their wings are.
  11. A consistent pass rush (from more than one player) will go a long way toward allowing our DBs to make more plays.
  12. ...and the occasional game in San Antonio.
  13. ...not that I know anything about the Tally-ho club, mind you....
  14. Not the Tally-ho club just off Transit; the Tally-ho-tel in Hamburg, right off the exit and just across the road from the now closed Days Inn.
  15. One of these days, maybe for next year, I'll take a whole week off for a game and go to the game and to the Booster meeting. It just sucks that it's not on the weekend of a game.
  16. True. Was it me, or did it really seem like Monty always went out to the audience and picked the person NEXT TO the person w/ the most ridiculous outfit to be the contestant?
  17. You didn't even have to do that, Eric, so I appreciate it even more. Like I said, it was on me and I do have a job, so I can afford to replace some beer and a cooler. I did find a new cooler for about $17 the other day. Thanks again.
  18. Oh, so I see you brought stuff for your "Inner Circle", eh? Oh, and thanks for stopping by to say hello to Psycho Ward 86 and myself. Snob.
  19. Choke job by a squad that has become adept @ choke jobs.
  20. Just as I did for the previous two tailgates/games.
  21. Cheaper than $49.95 a night? Really?
  22. You shouldn't hate.
  23. I'm biased too, Kenneth. I prefer your brew to the Chimay as well.
  24. I know. The guy never shuts up.
  25. My guess was that it's closed. We stayed @ the Tally-ho-tel last week, and it was okay. Much better than the time we stayed @ the Days Inn a couple years ago, when the damn power went out on us. Horrible place.
