  1. Is that you, Joseph, w/ the insight? Check you out! Now that's more your speed.
  2. Yeah, 15 years for a full 8 hours per pay period. Of course, you go from 4 hours to 6 hours in your first 2 years, then have to wait another 13 to get to 8. Only 5 more years to go for me.
  3. Didn't Marino score a 15 or something like that? And Vince Young had a 6 last year, or close to it. Looks like that Wonderlic is a great barometer of how players will fare in the pros. Sorta like the all-important 40 yd dash times. Who in their right mind would want a WR that runs a 4.5 or 4.6 in the 40? Who indeed?
  4. I wish. My Social Security will be offset by my FERS (federal employees retirement system) pension, so, for the most part, I won't get squat from Social Security. But, that's why I also pay into my Thrift Savings Plan, purchase certificates of deposit, and buy savings bonds as well. It pays to plan ahead instead of counting on something you may not even see by the time you need it.
  5. What does anyone expect in a league overrun w/ adolescent millionaires, many of whom have no clue as to how to behave? Not only has the All Star weekend become a joke, the NBA has become a joke. It's little more than dunks and 3 pointers nowadays. Treat yourself to a good college basketball game instead.
  6. She did indeed.
  7. Stop it. You're frightening me.
  8. Agreed. Johnson is a beast of a prospect @ WR and should do fine in the pros, as long as he stays healthy.
  9. True, but they could also stay put and land Levi Brown, whose stock is rising, or possibly have their pick of the litter for the defensive line (another area of dire need for Arizona) w/ Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, Alan Branch, or even Amobi Okoye.
  10. Hmmm......another road trip????
  11. ...that's what you've heard about crayonz.....right?
  12. What could Reggie Bush do? Especially w/out the services of a big back like Deuce McAllister to be productive w/ 20-25 carries a game? And w/out wideouts like Marques Colston, Joe Horn, and Devery Henderson to get down the field? I like Bush's ability and all, but the guy simply is not an every down back. If Houston would've taken him and tried to use him as such, they'd be no better than they are now.
  13. It's probably a bit too early for most of them. You may be able to get TSN's magazine around now. If not now, it will be pretty soon.
  14. I'm guessing you're not comparing the situations of David Carr and Tom Brady, right?
  15. As to the Reggie Bush issue, if they take Bush, who's the "Deuce" they have that will get 20-25 carries a game and allow Bush to be effective as a flanker, which is basically what he is there? Oh, and who's their Colston? Horn? Henderson? Then again, Bush could probably carry that team alone to another 5-6 wins. All he'd have to do is run outside (since he has trouble running in between tackles) and he could get to the corner faster than the defense. It's that simple.
  16. Great. Now Hardaway hates himself. And some guy named Edward.
  17. Defensively, they're not stupid @ all. On the other side of the ball, however...
  18. A point driven into our heads over 20,280 times on this board.
  19. If I was the GM for Oakland, I'd look to trade down a few spots and hope to land Joe Thomas. Their O line needs a lot of help.
  20. The senior TI I had while in boot camp was a female, and while she wasn't too bad to look @, this woman looks better than she did.
  21. As much as I think Smith is a jerk for how he handled the whole Schottenheimer issue, ganesh, you really have to give credit where it's due to his ability as a GM. He did pass on Vick, get Tomlinson (as I call him, for the only "LT" I know of is retired), and ended up adding Brees also. He then traded Manning for 3 Pro Bowl players (Kaeding, Rivers, and 'Roid Boy), further enhancing that team.
  22. I certainly do not envy David Carr. The oldest 27 year old QB? If he's not, I'd like to know who is. Yeesh. I remember reading how Pitts has played every offensive snap for the Texans (going into last season). How wonderful for their QBs, as Pitts is very Mike Gandy-like (not worth much as an OT, adequate @ OG).
  23. There's a ton of good websites/magazines I check out for draft info. Here's a few of my favorites: Magazines I purchase: Ourlads Kiper PFW (not as good w/out Buschbaum, but still worth reading) TSN draft mag Sites I frequent/purchase: NFL Draft Countdown TSN online ESPN Insider Marty & Matt's Pro Draft Report (home of the draft "steals", and they're pretty good @ spotting them) NFL Draft Exchange (nflfans.com) GBN Draft Report The Huddle Report NFL Draft Scout Draft.com NFL Draft Blitz
  24. Having your confidence shot by being pounded a billion times by opposing defenses has a funny way of manifesting itself in bad play on the field. He needs a fresh start and an organization that will actually put the talent around him (and not just a WR) that will help him succeed. Imagine if the Colts would've given Manning the piece of crap line Carr has had to deal w/ from the beginning of his career. Not saying Manning's stats would be identical, but he certainly would've seen a huge dropoff. Now, all of that said, I have seen Carr take more sacks than he should and make some terrible throws also. I just wonder how much of that can be attributed to knowing you'll have to run for your life on just about every play.
  25. He's also very valuable on special teams units. I'd like to see him in Buffalo, but I wonder if the Ravens are willing to match any offer he may get.
