Okay wrestling fans, let's hear from you. I know all 7 of you are out there, so... Who's your 5 favorite tag teams of all time and why? Here's mine: The Road Warriors As good as tag team wrestling got, they were entertaining, tough, scary, and just plain brutal. The Steiner Brothers Very sound wrestlers (don't see much of that nowadays, which is why I no longer watch pro wrestling) who could bring it. The Steiner Line and the Frankensteiner were great to see. Harlem Heat Master showmen who also were tough as nails and good athletes. Their brief feud w/ Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater was some great stuff to watch. BTW, Buck and Slater were a fun tag team to watch, even though they had practically zero talent. All they did was beat people up. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard Great cheaters who also were technically sound wrestlers. They were the muscle of the Four Horsemen when they were arguably @ their meanest (remember when they broke Sting's leg?). Rock N Roll Express Not the biggest tag team, or the quickest, or the most technically sound, but man could they bring it. No matter how quick, skilled, tough, or large the opponent was, the Express could take 'em down. There's other teams I really liked also, like the Hart Foundation, Rude/Fernandez, DiBiase/Rotundo, Hall/Nash, and the Strongbows for starters.

Bills @ Ravens (12/31/06) Tailgate Information
R. Rich replied to R. Rich's topic in Tailgate Central
Oh if only that were true. Since I was responsible to collect the money, I wasn't able to indulge as most of the others, including Psycho Ward 86, were able to. Oh well, it's a labor of love for me. -
Who will be picked #1 overall in the 2007 draft?
R. Rich replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in College Football
Yeah. I do think his accuracy has improved quite a bit. I don't think he's quite as accurate a passer that Vince Young is yet, but he's a lot better than he was, plus his decision making (a problem in many of the "big games" he "choked" in previously) has improved tremendously. I hope he does well in the NFL. -
The concept is sorta like fantasy football, except you draft an entire team and do all of the GM type things, like manage the salary cap, injured reserve, etc. I'm looking to see if we can get @ least 20 interested team owners to start. Details on where to inquire about joining up can be found here.

Should we have one this year, and if so, should we do a 4 round mock or 7? I don't know about both; that might be a bit much (it was brutal for me to run both a couple years ago). What say ye?
-
Just thought I'd bump this up again, to see if there's any interest in it. Even though the two teams I have (yeah, I'm in 2 sim leagues) both suck, I love going through the whole process. It can be time consuming @ first, to get things started, but once that's done, it really is a blast.

Wade Phillips to interview for Cowboys Head Coach
R. Rich replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Wade does get another shot as a head coach somewhere. I'd like to know if he has the potential to become a successful head coach, or if he's one of those guys who is better as a coordinator than as the main guy for a team. -
You graduated in 1987? Hahahaha!!!! You're old!

Are Antonio Pittman and Anthony Gonzalez big time material
R. Rich replied to bartshan-83's topic in College Football
Pittman looks like he'll be a good one, but the RB I think could end up being a steal for someone is Tony Hunt of PENN STATE. Yeah, yeah, I'm a fan, but this guy really is a great prospect. He runs very hard, is quite physical, can break tackles, is good in the open field, and is a capable receiver. If he doesn't wow everyone in workouts and @ the combine, he'll be a steal for someone. If he does, he could move into the late first/early second round (doubtful, but you never know). I say this because Pittman is a lot like Hunt, though he's better in the open field and can make people miss better than Hunt. -
Who will be picked #1 overall in the 2007 draft?
R. Rich replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in College Football
It could be Quinn, or they could go w/ Calvin Johnson, who really is a lot like Randy Moss, just w/out the attitude. Either way, they'll get better offensively. -
I have to go w/ the crowd and say the third scenario is the best option. I think I mentioned Grubbs to you before, William, so you know I think he's a good candidate to upgrade the interior line. Blalock is also a good pick, though I wonder if he'll be available @ that point. Willis? Hey, the guy's a great athlete and I wouldn't be upset if he were the pick there, but I do like Brandon Siler about as much and I like Buster Davis even more (his performance in last year's Fiesta Bowl was incredible, even better than 2 time Butkus winner Posluszny).

Chuck Noll's gardener's hairstylist's butcher's mailman's librarian says that Parcells will quit in Dallas, then become Pittsburgh's new asst head coach/GM. I hear he's bringing his friend Soprano in as a top executive assistant.

ARIZONA CARDINALS SELECT NEW HEAD COACH.....
R. Rich replied to aeb16428's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but who wants to wait for the actual hiring? Haven't you learned anything from being here on the Wall, Lori? -
Happy belated, bro. Hopefully we'll get to catch up w/ each other later on this year.
-
Just as soon as he logs in to read the Wall, and find out how to really manage the team.

Interesting choice by Jags for OC
R. Rich replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't Holtz coach for the Jets in the 1970s? -
William, I said to my wife that either Pittsburgh (when they moved up, I thought it was to take Mangold) or Buffalo would've done well by taking Mangold, but both teams got good players anyway. Santonio Holmes, after taking his lumps early, really started to play well towards the end of the year, and capped the year off w/ a great catch and run in OT against Cincinnati. Whitner was pretty solid for most of the year and while we didn't make the playoffs, there's no guarantee we would've done so w/ Ngata, nor is there any guarantee that Ngata would've had the same sort of season he had (which, individually, was good, not great as many would have you believe) w/out players like Trevor Pryce, Kelly Gregg, Adalius Thomas, Ray Ray, Terrell Suggs, and Bart Scott around him.

Bills @ Ravens (12/31/06) Tailgate Information
R. Rich replied to R. Rich's topic in Tailgate Central
Hello yourself. I brought my camera to the game, but didn't think to take one damn picture. I was busy collecting money and monitoring the buffet area upstairs. Oh well. I know a few people took pictures; maybe they'll share. -
That would be the ideal, but how likely is that to happen considering we traded up to draft McCargo last year and then took Williams later on? Not saying I don't want a DT, I'm just trying to look @ this from the organization's point of view.
-
Sorry you missed this year's Fiesta Bowl. (And this is coming from a PENN STATE fan!)
-
A LB that can tackle (maybe, just maybe, even @ or behind the line of scrimmage) would be fine by me.
-
I was prety much w/ you until I got here... I like his ability, but he has to get stronger. I've grown tired of seeing him get tossed around by defensive linemen. Your scenario is pretty solid overall.
-
The ticket prices I'm seeing are in the $600.00 - $1,000.00 price range. Oh well. Maybe I'll go to the Florida International game instead...

Ah, memories...
