  1. Oh yeah, and let's all remember... the NFL draft will conclude w/ the end of the SEVENTH round, not the first round. For all the flack people gave Marv for last year's draft, we got 5 starters out of that group and added depth as well. Not bad........for a guy who sucks.
  2. Uh huh. As unlikely as it may be (considering the last decade or so), if we were to land a big time free agent guard, there's no need to go after another one w/ the first pick in the draft. That's not saying you can't address depth in other rounds, but the first pick should be an impact player to immediately help. Do we need to sign a top level free agent AND draft the best guard available? I don't think so, especially when our LBs just spent the last year showing us an inability to shed blocks, poor awareness, and even worse tackling. Adding a guy like Buster Davis, Brandon Siler, David Harris, or Patrick Willis (if we were to sign a stud FA guard) would be the route I'd take. A DT? Again, if the Bills have given up on McCargo already and are again looking to draft a DT in the first round, then I'd consider that position.
  3. Which brings me to a statement made here in this thread by a guy we both know and have discussed football w/ over drinks and wings...
  4. Again I ask, does anyone have a link to anything from the Buffalo Bills organization that indicates that they will, after signing a free agent DT AND trading back into the first round of last year's draft to select a DT, use their top pick this year on another DT? Honestly. If that's the case, then Branch or Okoye wouldn't be bad choices @ all.
  5. Excellent point, EII. There's less and less guidance out there for kids, due to "babies having babies", which leads to a bunch of irresponsible parents who are overwhelmed and underprepared.
  6. I can't see the link (firewall @ work), but is it the one where they mocked Arn Anderson's "I'll give you my spot" scene w/ the late Curt Hennig? I love that one. I have it on a VHS tape, and I watch it every so often. BTW, I met Arn Anderson years ago when I was out w/ my wife. He's a really nice guy and spent quite a while talking to me about all the stuff wrestlers had to deal w/ (the road, bad pay, unscrupulous promoters, etc.). I also met Haku (aka Meng) that night. Nice guy too. He left the bartender a HUGE tip on his credit card! Must've had a lot to drink.
  7. Scott Hall is as dominant a wrestler as I've seen. If only he could control his demons...
  8. A lineman to help the interior line should be a high priority, but a first round pick on a guard? I'm not sure. Davin Joseph was a solid choice for Tampa, but hasn't set the world on fire. In the first round, I'd like to see the LB unit upgraded, if the lines aren't going to be addressed. Imagine that.
  9. I mentioned the Hart Foundation, but they're not one of my 5 FAVORITE teams. It's a matter of opinion. I like the Harts, but I like the other 5 I mentioned more.
  10. The kendo stick would work better.
  11. Hahahaha!!!! The "Dream Team". Riiiiiiight.
  12. Darin brought up Garea earlier too, but mentioned him w/ Martel. I still think the best partner he had was Larry Zbysko, though he never really had any slouches as partners.
  13. Sky's the limit for him. I think he's got a lot of talent and plays tough, something I'd love to see our interior linemen do. Footwork will be an issue, but he did a very good job the week of the Senior Bowl practices and in the game itself, so hopefully he's working on that phase of his game.
  14. No love for the Blackjacks? They were a bada** team, and Mulligan's feud w/ Andre (they had a great Texas Death Match many years ago) was legendary.
  15. But not nearly as good as my 43rd.
  16. Maybe he had to go to the bathroom.
  17. Something you'd care to share w/ the group, Bobble?
  18. Sorry, can't say that I've seen this Hunt guy play. Is he any good?
  19. Sorry, but I'd keep Gandy @ LG and dump Villarrial. And it has nothing to do w/ my being a former Shippensburg Red Raider, either.
  20. Now children.....behave.
  21. That was a good one. Another good feud was the Moondogs vs Jarrett/Lawler.
  22. Garea had 83 different partners, and Martel wasn't even his best one. Samoans were okay, but not one of my favorites. Afa and Sika were the best combo; once they started getting all of the cousins involved, it became a joke. Spot and Rex were solid (both are deceased now, I believe). The Midnight Express (before Stan Lane) was awesome, and would fall just oustside of my top 5. Their feud w/ the Rock N Roll Express is perhaps the best tag team feud of all time. Freebirds? They're great for entertainment. Hayes and Garvin sure did know how to work a crowd. Like the original Midnight Express, they'd fall just outside my top 5. Fuji and Saito? Well, as long as you keep Saito away from McDonald's (he was w/ Ken Patera when roid rage, and a hankerin' for Big Macs, took over), they'd be okay.
  23. Yeah, but what 'bout his bada** partner, Dynamite Mickey Dolenz?
  24. Okay wrestling fans, let's hear from you. I know all 7 of you are out there, so... Who's your 5 favorite tag teams of all time and why? Here's mine: The Road Warriors As good as tag team wrestling got, they were entertaining, tough, scary, and just plain brutal. The Steiner Brothers Very sound wrestlers (don't see much of that nowadays, which is why I no longer watch pro wrestling) who could bring it. The Steiner Line and the Frankensteiner were great to see. Harlem Heat Master showmen who also were tough as nails and good athletes. Their brief feud w/ Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater was some great stuff to watch. BTW, Buck and Slater were a fun tag team to watch, even though they had practically zero talent. All they did was beat people up. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard Great cheaters who also were technically sound wrestlers. They were the muscle of the Four Horsemen when they were arguably @ their meanest (remember when they broke Sting's leg?). Rock N Roll Express Not the biggest tag team, or the quickest, or the most technically sound, but man could they bring it. No matter how quick, skilled, tough, or large the opponent was, the Express could take 'em down. There's other teams I really liked also, like the Hart Foundation, Rude/Fernandez, DiBiase/Rotundo, Hall/Nash, and the Strongbows for starters.
