Cleveland is on the clock.
-
If Detroit is done talking to Atlanta, they need to pick. I'll give Detroit another couple of minutes, then we really need to push on.
-
It ain't, and you will.
-
The compensation, to me, is fair (Washington is offering to swap their 6th for Chicago's 30th and Briggs), but I really don't want to see the Bills give up that pick, especially w/ a number of good players available there.
-
Carolina, Tennessee, Seattle, Baltimore, and Chicago all need GMs. Any takers?
-
Let's put that to a vote.
-
Have @ it, folks! Hey clump, I guess I'll step in for Detroit, since they don't seem to be online. You wanna talk a trade? Never mind. Detroit is here. Talk to MattyT, clump. Hurry it up though.
-
Hmm.... Oakland is not here? Oh well.... Oakland will select JaMarcus Russell, QB from LSU Detroit is on the clock.

Welcome to the 2007 version of the TBD mock draft. Oakland is on the clock.

This thread is only for posting your selections for the teams you represent. There will be a separate thread for discussion of the mock draft.
-
Feel free to let me know who you're interested in picking up. I'm taking the Texans. We will start @ 10am.
-
Due to some work issues, we will begin the mock draft @ 10am instead of 9am. I apologize for the delay.

No sir. I've never met Pinto Ron. However, I have met and hung out w/ Kenny numerous times, here in Baltimore, in Buffalo (natch), and in San Antonio for the relocated Saints game (w/ Aussie, Lori, Jay Rubeo and a few others also).

I never met Pinto Ron.

So far, we have half of the teams represented. Good job!

Of course, a lot will depend on what the Bills do between now and the start of training camp. They have a bunch of options w/ the 12th pick and they have the additional 3rd from the McGahee trade plus their other day 1 picks, so they should come out of the first day of the draft w/ a nice group of players. Couple that w/ some shrewd moves on day 2 (let's hope!), and some good scouting of the available free agents later, and the Bills may not look like such losers going into camp. -
Moving Buster outside, are we? Not a good move, in my opinion, as he's a true MLB. In fact, he's a lot like the guy we just let go in free agency, London Fletcher.

Let it go. On message boards, the other view is the wrong view. If I think Spikes and Holcomb are great players, there's bound to be others who think they suck. Or vice versa. Heck, I've seen people on this board jump all over the posts of those who have been here longer and simply try to offer their viewpoint on issues, or try to ask 'bout something. Stuff like that happens all the time; we just have to endure it. The fleas come w/ the dog.

Both of us have good points on this topic. You have pointed out the number of bad first round picks from Penn State, and I have shown that there are also success stories. Two sides to the coin, so to speak. -
Manning was quite funny, I thought, though the last few skits he was involed in were pretty weak. Other than Manning's first few skits (in particular the 300 spoof, the ESPN basketball pool, and the United Way commercial) and Smigel's classic funhouse spoof of Dora, the rest of the show was typical SNL of late: unwatchable.

Penn State has certainly had their share of first round busts. There's no arguing that. Thing is, just about every school has had first round busts. While the players both you and I have mentioned have been considered busts in the past for Penn State, here's a few players who really don't meet that criteria: From 1996: 23 Jeff Hartings Lions Guard Penn State 30 Andre Johnson Redskins Offensive tackle Penn State From 1995: 5 Kerry Collins Panthers Quarterback Penn State 9 Kyle Brady Jets Tight end Penn State From 1993: 25 O.J. McDuffie Dolphins Wide receiver Penn State From 1987: 8 Shane Conlan Bills Linebacker Penn State From 1983: 3 Curt Warner Seahawks Running back Penn State From 1982: 8 Mike Munchak Oilers Guard Penn State From 1972: 13 Franco Harris Steelers Running back Penn State These players have had careers that go from pretty good (McDuffie was quite the 3rd down receiver in Miami) to very good (Franco and Munchak are Hall of Famers). All were taken in the first round of the draft.
