  1. NFL fans, regardless of who they side with politically, will have absolutely ZERO say in the matter. None. Just as it should be.
  2. I trust the numbers in the US and right now it shows a mortality rate of approximately 4.9% ( 49 times the death rare of flu). It’s great that most people won’t die from this, but can you guarantee that all those infected people who won’t suffer much aren’t gonna infect the millions of people who will? I, too, have great hope for therapeutic remedies. But those will take some time as well.
  3. I don’t see my view on things as pessimistic, just realistic. In the absence of a vaccine, there will be a resurgence; it’s just the nature of viral pandemics, especially this particular virus. Tens of thousands of closely packed people in the two largest population centers in the country on a regular basis sets the table nicely. I’ll remain hopeful though.
  4. Another fantastic episode. The season finale is setting up to be awesome. I gave up trying to predict Gilligan and Co. a long time ago, I just know I’m gonna enjoy whatever he delivers.
  5. I think you’re correct here. With both the mayors in LA and NYC, the two largest sports and concert venues in the country hinting at that eventuality, the writing is on the wall for sure. But it’s nothing we can’t handle.
  6. The lack of exposure to elite QB camps and specialized coaching in middle and high school is evident. But man, what a cannon for a right arm. That rare arm talent did more to allow bad mechanics to take hold more than anything else, though. He could just plain get away with stuff others couldn’t because his arm could compensate so well.
  7. Yes, I know what you mean and I’ve learned the hard way. Regarding Gates, his strategy for researching and developing a vaccine is brilliant, not to mention exceedingly philanthropic. He is opening 7 factories simultaneously so that less time is wasted as would be if you tried developing one at a time. Amazing.
  8. We continue to ignore long snapper at our own peril.
  9. Average yards per rush attempt against, average yards per pass attempt against, average yards per play against, and passer rating. When those metrics are superior, the rest takes care if itself.
  10. Per the bold text, I find that ironic as it’s often the socially irresponsible who seem to be those who think this is no big deal and who complain the loudest about the government and their lost “rights.”
  11. My earlier post on the subject was deleted for using the “I” word so I’ll try to be more diplomatic and simply say that given his previous carelessness with social distancing while awaiting his virus test results, perhaps Rand Paul isn’t the authority we should look towards for advice on continuing the practice.
  12. Damn, that sounds good! My tapeworm just sported a woody!
  13. This Ohio PSA is one of the best depictions of the importance of social distancing I’ve seen. Very clever.
  14. They closed the golf courses? Oh, the humanity!
  15. The PSA from Ohio is one of the cleverest depictions of the importance of social distancing I’ve seen.
  16. Great point. QBs in NYC are a completely different animal than cornerbacks in NYC as they are anywhere else for that matter. Any CB that rises to elite status is gonna get paid regardless of where he plays.
  17. I’m not surprised at all. Wall Street is not and never has been Main Street. Wall Street isn’t the economy, after all. The demand side impacts of the high unemployment numbers will be reflected eventually, but right now, the getting is good on Wall Street; lots of great deals to be had. I know you know all that, I’m just offering an opinion. The market has always recovered, regardless.
  18. The first cut is the deepest.
