McConkey and Legette is my favored combo pick. I was pushing for Kincaid last year, so if it happens, I'm going to maybe dance in the street. (I live on a rural farm, so only the cows, barn cats, and miniature horses will likely wonder what the damn fool is up to.) They are both late first/early second candidates. Your plan for taking McConkey at 28 and Legette in a trade up is also mine.

Some folks appear to think wanting two WRs this early makes one a "knucklehead." I don't think they have properly assessed where our WR room is right now. If they don't grab 2 early, I suspect a trade for a veteran may happen.

It’s a pipe dream imo…..but that would be incredible.  I don’t see us being that fortunate

There’s obviously more to it than that- but when the situation arises it could come into play.

We all know this happens.  Belacheat spent years visiting UGA and Bama practices and talking to Smart and Sabban.  There is no question that McBeane has relationships with certain coaches, but I still don't see them overweighting any particular team's players because of it.  To me it looks like at best a tiebreaker on guys they have similar grades on.  It also looks like some of these college coaches have lead the Bills astray, after all we took Shorter over Wicks and Nacua.

    like I said.

my point solely has to do with drafting players that they have additional insight on from trusted coaches.  McD did it with Zay Jones too.  It’s has nothing to do with being from particular schools.  Rather knowing (or employing coaches) that have experience with the player.  There’s obviously more to it than that- but when the situation arises it could come into play.

I think you are reading too much into his history.  If we were in Philly and saw 3 Tide players and 6 Bulldawgs drafted early, then I think you'd be on to something.  However, he has taken 15 players in the 1st 3 rounds and from 13 different school. Florida (Elam & Torrence) and Utah (Moss & Kincaid) have two top 3 rounds picks during Beane's tenure. Maybe those Gators are why we can't win the big game?

I don't think he cares what school a kid played at as long as he fits the criteria he and the scouts set for that pick and he is the BPA on his draft board.

I think you’re missing the point here.  It’s not that Beane/McD care about the school they play for.  They care about the insight they are getting from their college coaches.  College coaches that can vouch for players fitting the criteria he and the scouts set for the pick.  They don’t have to go off a couple interviews and what they hope to be true.  They can go off what these coaches already know to be true.

Can he be extended to spread cap for acquiring team before the trade is processed? Or can SEA eat $$

I don’t care enough to look into it 😉 I don’t see him being an option this offseason, but who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've got serious DK Metcalf FOMO on him right now. Much prefer we take someone more polished rd1, then go up and snag him rd2

Anything is possible, but his cap hit is 24M this year.  If they trade him, it’s 36M

I tried to watch the bootleg WR video, but watching three guys talk on zoom for hour and 45 mins is too much for me.  I need some highlights or some player video.  They should have broke it up into segments and uploaded individual videos.  I watch youtube on my tv while working out.  Its a pain to have to skip around on a tv.

Different strokes for different folks.  I usually just listen to it as I do other things

There is a lot of garbage on youtube too.  Every person that watches a highlight video is now a draft expert.  I watch the ten min videos on each WRs that underdog NFL draft has.  I like those.  Then you have these videos that are like over an hour and a half, no idea why anyone would think that is a good idea to put that on youtube in one video.  No one has time to sit there and sit through a couple dudes talking about prospects for over 90 mins.  I watched one video of Steve Smith and realized what a hack he is.  He barely even knew who these prospects were.  He acted like he was some scout, yet you could clearly see that he watched 10 mins on each player and made an assertation on the player.  Simms just does things for attention, much like Steve Smith, he really doesn't put the hours into evaluating before opening his mouth.

Yeah there’s lots of garbage everywhere, no doubt.  That’s why you pick what you like.

Can’t stand Smith on tv but his WR breakdowns offer some insight.  He knows more about the position than most.  He understands pacing and the nuances of running routes that most YTers don’t understand.   You’re right, I don’t think he watches a ton of tape-  probably just highlights.  Simms, meh.  He says it how he sees it, which is a usually much different than most.  I think he watches some tape.

I really enjoy the Bootleg guys.  They grind tons of tape.  Good and bad.  Brugler is my favorite-  there’s a lot more Brugler content on YT this year.

I used to watch ESPN to listen to Mel and Mcshay go back and forth for weeks before the draft.  I can't find them anywhere.  ESPN barely dedicates more than 15 mins a day to the NFL draft right now.  Even NFL network has ran out of things to talk about with the draft.  There was so much momentum with free agency, then the combine, the pro days.  These things have been done for weeks now.

I used to watch espn too….when it wasn’t terrible.  Now I skim YouTube and watch what I choose to watch as opposed to what one channel is force feeding me.  There are plenty of YT channels worth watching with regards to the draft/prospect information. This time of year I usually dive deeper into the later round prospects

I feel like the overall draft hype is lessened this year.  I feel like it's just way too late.  Do it before the NHL and NBA playoffs start.  There is no need for these extra 2 weeks.  I was ready for this draft in the beginning of April, at this point, I don't even care anymore.  I'm sick of hearing these prospects names.

With expectations lower this year than the past couple of years, here’s a thought. Offer Josh to the Bears for both of their first rounders and their second. Draft Williams, Thomas and Mckonkeywith the first rounders. Fill out the rest of the roster from there. Put 2024 in the books as a probable reset, Look out league in 2025.

Would you be ok with him round 4?  I think no.  I would be happy with him there but round 3 does feel a bit much.

Yeah I’d be ok with him at the end of rd 4.  I really like his fit, he’s young (20) and I like his interviews.

The Chiefs LOVE Polk and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s their first round pick.

That would make me sad.  My favorite player in the draft + the speed of Hollywood.  They’d be a nice pairing with the felon

I know this guy isn't a true sleeper, but I think his value is being slept on too much, and that is Ja'lynn Polk, WR, Huskies.  He has superior ball skills and strong hands, and 100% fits that theme Beane and McD want of making the catch.  What he lacks in 40 time he more than makes up for with route precision, physicality, and ball skills.  With a draft this deep, its not a surprise some of these guys are getting almost lost in the shuffle in the draft buzz.  But if the Bills exited this draft with just Polk as the addition at WR, I would still be excited.

Don't get me wrong, not at all saying he should be our target or who we should take at 28.  I am saying, hypothetically Bills go another position at 28 and then wait to pick 60 to draft a WR, if Polk was the guy I would still be very stoked about him.  I know the big knock is the 4.54 forty time...but that is faster than Keenan Allen, Larry Fitzgerald, Cooper Kupp, etc who all had over 4.6 to over 4.7 forty times.  What people fail to realize about 40 times too often is that straight line speed in shorts and does not automatically translate to on field speed of play.

A guy slower in the 40 may play faster or be better at getting separation at the next level than someone who put up a faster time.  It is not the end all be all measurement its made out to be.

So for me, Polk is not getting enough buzz, but I really think he is going to be a very good player in the NFL.  And in Buffalo, where bad weather often helps even the playing field speed wise in those late season and playoff games, having a guy with exceptional ball skills, who runs precise routes and is physical can be a major weapon.

Polk is MY guy!!! Get a new guy!  😉

Latu is the biggest question mark. He’s the best pass rusher in the class imo.  His injury history is scary.  A top 10 talent that could slip to the mid 20’s, maybe 30’s (according to some).

Would LOVE to land Latu at 28 and then trade up for Polk (or another WR) in rd 2.

I agree, but I’d be really happy with him in rd 2.  He’s very intriguing to me.  Playing with 17 would be incredible for him.

Not a fan of drafting zero DL or OL in the first 4 rounds.  I think there’s little chance of Allen falling to 128.
