I have no idea if this guy is going to be a good WR. I have seen very little of him. I just feel like we didn’t do anywhere near enough at WR. I don’t want to even attempt to fix this today. These rounds are not where you find suitable replacements. Can you get lucky? Yes. Nothing in this league is a give. And I’m not interested in just writing years off. We lost the best/2nd best WR in teen history and Davis and replaced them with basically nothing. It’s not enough. I fully expect led us to move way up and get one of the true studs here or trade for an Ayuk/Samuel. This isn’t good enough enough now and I fear it’s too late to make a move that will change that.
Anywhere near enough? As in what- we still have 7 picks…..we’ll draft another. Maybe even 2
Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Hollins-
Kincaid- knox
we’ll be running lots of 12 personnel.and a good amount of 11. We’ll run some 10, but probably not too much….especially in the playoffs when the weather 💩
Sure, I’ll be ecstatic if we can land one or two of Franklin, Baker, Walker, Washington, rice, Wilson, thrash, cowing, Johnson, smith, Coker and a few others. Considering the depth of this WR class, I think Beane did good by waiting until day 3 to draft a 2nd WR. That said….if he doesn’t add another, I’ll be disappointed and chalk it up as a missed opportunity -

I like the player. We have our backup 3T under contract for the next 4 season. Solid backup.
that said- I’d have rather have taken some higher upside players that have a chance to be very good starters. That said, if he can improve and become a solid pass rushing threat for 4 years, it’ll be a solid pick

So, he wasn't my guy, but now that he's the pick, I'm looking forward. I hope the positive interpretations are correct.
You can make a plausible case, but not everyone who was against the pick is a moron who just looked at the forty time.
Some of us watched a lot of youtube and podcasts and read numerous analyses.
Anyway, for certain, Coleman has basketball finesse to his game. That's not unimportant. It's what made a TE like Gates so effective. I want the fella to be good.
And for sure, he's built for bad weather and playoff football.

If you aren't solely reliant on one rookie to bail your offense out of every dire situation then I think you better your chances of allowing him to prove himself in those type of scenarios.
We just traded a #1 who literally didn't do this for us so I'll allow the rook the opportunity to show what he could be.
For sure. Diggs inability to help win games in the playoffs was his biggest detriment imo. Even more so than his off field stuff (I know most would disagree). He disappeared when needed most.
Hopefully Coleman and Josh can develop a connection with the jump balls. One on one deep
down the field on scramble drills should be his bread and butter. Coleman should be able to position himself and outmuscle and physically outmatch corners in single coverage. This is an exciting prospect. Having him and Kincaid out there should give us lots of options with cook, Samuel and Shak.
I think our playmakers are better than most think

Is Coleman physical enough to not get destroyed by playoff-style press coverage? And win on contested catches? If so, this was a great pick.
Pretty much this.
Will he make big plays to help us win playoff games. Will he be clutch? Or will he get stuck on the line and drop passes? Crucial pieces to the puzzle

Watched every Ute game this year. He’s a beast. Definite McD type. Insane tackler with great pop. Solid in man coverage. I’ll love watching him smack and make plays in the backfield.
I just don’t think hes a good fit playing opposite Rapp.

More people had Coleman ranked ahead of Legette than the other way around. Coleman's avg draft ranking was WR7, Legettes was WR14
That goes both ways…. how many had Keon rated higher than BTj, The other guy in you mentioned? -

I wanted Thomas too, and I am not saying he is going to be a bust. But Thomas also hasn't proven he can be anything more than a go route guy yet, although I very much felt he was the 4th best WR in the draft.
This was a great WR draft, lots of guys have a lot of potential. But I am telling you right now, Coleman is more ready to come in and be a WR1 than both Thomas and Legette are. And I am confident Coleman will have the best season by most measurements than both of those guys. If Thomas and Legette hit their potential, they could be great no doubt as well.
But Legette went to the worst place possible for him IMHO and I don't think Thomas landed in a great spot for him either because with the WR makeup, they will probably primarily use him as a deep ball guy and not sure he develops there like he could have someone where else.
Its also telling that people who know football...know WR's...just love Coleman. So I think people condemning his future right now over a 40 time while ignoring his fastest time in the gauntlet which is a better indicator of in game speed are making a mistake.
Top bolded- I don’t believe that at all. WR1 needs to be able to get off press. Coleman has major issues and that may never change
Bottom- and then there are people who know football, that think he’s a 3rd rd prospect and out of the top 10 WRs in the draft.

Like the physical being and the character. Love the jump ball talent. Like the rac ability.
HATE that we didn’t trade back with the chargers and take him there.
HATE that we took him over 4 other WRs
I’ll love him. I’m just not happy rn

Yeah.
It was a combination of me liking Worthy a lot and disliking the Chiefs a lot.
So to sit around for three plus hours eagerly awaiting the Bills pick, then to see that the guy I liked was still on the board, then to see that we traded that pick to the Chiefs, then to see them use that pick to take the player I liked....I was pissed.
Emotions sometimes win out over calm-headed logic. I am human.
I STILL don't love handing a 4.21 receiver to a team we historically can't stop in the playoffs, but I'll live.Luckily, there’s only one sub 4.3 WR season in the history of the NFL

This team already gave the center position to McGovern, it’s a done deal. I'm not drafting a back up center. That's stupid.
One of them would obviously move to LG…

That’s great!! We’ll get the goal line RB we’ve been waiting for!!! And we’d only have to pay him 50M over 2 years!!?

Dejean then trade up for Mitchell, Polk, McConkey or Franklin.
Newton then trade up for Mitchell, Polk, McConkey or Franklin.
keep trading back and take Mitchell, Polk, McConkey or Franklin then trade up for jenkins or Fiske

I hear ya. They did have Travis Kelce (I get he didn't have a great SB but he was good otherwise). It's looking like short of getting an established vet, we will be relying on Kincaid taking a step toward being Kelce.
I also get that the end of the season Kincaid, Shakir & Cook were leading the receptions without a lot of consistent contributions from Diggs Davis. I'm good with moving on from them. I want to know there's a plan & I'm having trouble seeing it. I'm worried this WR room will not get a significant upgrade & I actually think as a whole it's not as good as what KC had. But as has been pointed out, Beane isn't done working yet. So I'll have to practice improving my patience.
I hear ya. Hard to see the plan when we haven’t made any selections, but it looks like they identified this WR class as deep……. Or they don’t think they need a WR1

The breakdowns ahead of the draft say Franklin struggles w/ press coverage and blocking on film. Worthy is shorter & faster, they have a tougher time getting hands on him.
Now in fairness I'm not sure Worthy's frame holds up when he does get hit & they said he did have some drops & some concentration issues.
My point is our WR room is not nearly good enough & I don't see the remaining players on the board fixing that (also have an issue w/ compensation received but that's a different issue). There's no WR 1 available there.
But the idea of trading for a SF WR is interesting & could fill that immediate hole. Hoping you're right & Beane pulls something off before the season. Not thrilled, but I'm trying to accept it, & be a windshield person instead of a rearview mirror person (look forward instead of backward).
And the point that KCs WR room clearly wasn’t good enough in December of 2024. Then suddenly it was. We’re going to add a WR they think will get the job done. Then it’s up to the coaches and individuals to put in the work and make plays on game days

When is the last time we have had a receiver that can flat out smoke any DB on the opposing team. So instead of taking a chance on this guy an bulking him up in the weight room abit we just pass on him and move further down the draft list. Teams this year went up in this draft to get better talent not backwards.
Listen to yourself, going backwards or taking a step back in anything is considered counterproductive.
If Worthy comes out this year, and torches the other teams that KC plays after adding this guy to their roster, and we are still working with our pathetic hodge podge receiving corps, I bet you will start to sing a different toon.....
Their is a common thread with many other Bills fans that kept agreeing that this move did not make us a better team... Get real. KC got better.
Of course they got better by drafting after drafting a player in rd 1……This has nothing to do with my statement.
You act as if worthy is the only WR that can help us. KC would’ve “gotten better” if they had drafted any of the top 10 WRs…..
Beane didn’t like Worthy. You mad. Throw fit. Like others.

Do you think Coleman is strictly an option the short and intermediate game?
He may lack the explosion at the top of his routes to get open over the top but if he’s one on one he’s already somewhat open with the proper pass.
He replaced our run blocking X WR with another run blocking X. But this one can actually make contested catches and even be a threat after the catch.
The run game will be a big part of our offense and he can be an asset there. The weather will also play a role in our offense. Physicality is extremely important. Coleman is a physical component in both our run and pass game. Samuel has speed. Shakir has speed. Cook has speed. Kincaid has speed. Bringing in some muscle helps. Not to mention that the draft isn’t over and there are still more speed option available.
Replacing what Gabe did well is complete. We replaced him with a superior player (imo anyway) that can do everything he did as well as thing he couldn’t do (contested catches and rac)
And his lack of balance. Dude looks so dam weak!
