Congress Must Expose the Senility Coup by Daniel Greenfield At some point in the last four years, the president ceased to be. We do not yet know the date at which the man holding the office became incompetent to carry out his duties. What we do know is that his entire administration engaged in a concerted conspiracy to cover up his incapacity. This conspiracy was not just one of the many lies told for political purposes: it was a coup. As America’s political class grows sicker, we have witnessed the spectacle of members of Congress who are institutionalized or so decrepit that they no longer know where they are, ‘sponsoring legislation’ and ‘casting votes’. These are not just deceptions: they are crimes. The United States has a representative government of elected officials who are the only ones entitled to wield their powers. Voters do not elect staffers and staffers are not empowered to wield legislative power only to provide advice and assistance to qualified elected officials. Staffers who not only cover up the mental decline of an elected official, but who act in his or her name, are seizing power from the people and acting on their own behalf. This is a coup. While staffers acting in place of mentally incapacitated members of the House or Senate is serious, the senility coup that took place during the Biden administration is far worse. {snip} This is no small matter. After years of being lied to, the American people deserve the truth and a government they can trust. That can only happen if Congress conducts hearings into Biden’s mental capacity, subpoenaing documents, and compelling medical personnel and advisers to testify under oath about Biden’s mental capacity in everyday affairs so that a date can be set for his incapacity. Everyone who was aware of Biden’s mental incapacity but continued to act in his name, must face charges for taking part in a coup. The Biden administration has claimed that its opponents represented a “threat to democracy” when its personnel not only threatened democracy, but actively seized power from the people by maintaining their own Weekend at Bernie’s regime. Under the 25th Amendment, Vice President Kamala Harris and cabinet members were required to notify Congress once they realized that President Biden was incapacitated. They did not do so. Had they, Kamala would have been legally able to take office and assume his responsibilities. Their failure to do so created a secret constitutional crisis that escalated into a coup. Another downward revision in the Biden jobs numbers and it's a doozy Monica Showalter Ahead of President Trump taking office on Jan. 20, Bidenomics is still with us. Joe crowed about all the 16 million jobs he'd 'created' in his speech five days ago, patting himself on the back. It was stolen valor. Turns out his jobs numbers look like this: No net new jobs at all? Job growth negative, jobs lost left and right? And what a coincidence, it happened just as election was on -- phony numbers for a political purpose -- right about when they had a plan to elect a Democrat. This isn't the first time they've revised jobs and other economic indicators downward after first reporting them as impressive, indicating signs of growth -- which is politically advantageous to Biden. Back in July and as I recall, September, Biden was doing the same thing -- fake numbers to get a market boost, then, months later, the real ones. Now the revisions are in and suddenly Biden's record is not so hot. Why anyone believes any of his numbers at all when they come out at this point is a mystery. REMINDER: "Biden did the right thing granting clemency to 37 federal death row inmates." With this courageous action, President Biden has lived up to his promise as the first president to openly oppose capital punishment and secured his legacy as a champion of racial justice, compassion, and fairness. Writes Russ Feingold (at The Hill). If he's truly opposed to capital punishment, he should have commuted the sentences of all 40 federal death row inmates. That would have taken more courage. The 3 excluded from this show of empathy were the 3 most famous. Applying principle to them would have kicked up a much bigger political storm. So where is the principle? President Biden has shown clear moral leadership by commuting these 37 federal death sentences. Not only does this action effectively fulfill his 2020 promise to end the death penalty at the federal level, it should also serve as a model and an incentive for state leaders to follow suit. No. The "37" says it all. You need to save all 40 before you can claim "clear moral leadership." The real test would be sparing those last 3: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Robert Bowers, and Dylann Roof.
