  1. I guess I'm one of the few that actually thinks this has been a good offseason. To make a an offseason successful does not mean you have to go out and spend tons of cash to bring in name free agents just to pacify the fans. Management is looking not only at 2005 but also the seasons beyond. How would like a team liek the Redskins? They go out and sign everyone and the fans are ecstatic, then they suck the next season and their dead weight keeps adding on each season. Management (not just TD, he doesn't make the decisions on his own), has gotten rid of a liability at QB and also heads off any QB controversy by not just demoting him, but getting rid of DB. They refuse to overpay for an AVERAGE OL, refuse to overpay for a part-time DL, Edwards has shown a lot of promise last year which made PW expendable. We still have 4 months til training camp when I'm sure we'll have all of our starters on the team, whether we'll know they are going to be our starters or not at the time. Lighten up, put your feet up, half drink of green beer and enjoy the offseason.
  2. I would think that for your number 3, you'd want a young late rounder. Grab a QB in the 5th through 7th and maybe he becomes serviceable in the future after Holcomb is done.
  3. We were probably typing it at the same time.
  4. Ray Lewis in the trunk? Wasn't that Rae Carruth after he had someone shoot his girlfriend and unborn child?
  5. Better question yet, Do the Cards run any offense?
  6. Those stats are great but, don't be too hasty. It doesn't tell the story of the number of times he was out of position and got burned. I saw most of the Panthers games last year and Gamble showed a lot of promise but I wouldn't be that excited about him yet. Also, since he was the rookie last year QB's went after him a lot, so he had many more opportunities to make plays.
  7. Jordan will be another in a long line of failed Raider running backs. I just don't see Jordan as being that great. Raiders haven't had a great running back since Bo Jackson.
  8. That's probably about 5 Mil per year.
  9. They're not even sure how healthy their QB is going to be. Favored!?
  10. Sounds like a guy with potential that could use some of McNally's tutoring. By the end of camp he may be competing for a starting position. Sounds like a guard though, not a tackle. Overall, not a bad pickup as long as it wasn't for a whole lot of cash and he passes his physical.
  11. I really don't see why so many people are in a panic because we haven't done anything in free agency yet. Edwards did very well when called upon last year and that is what made PW expendable. Same thing with Jennings, although with him we don't have a legitimate replacement yet. Some here are talking like he was a megastar at his position. I never thought of JJ as anything more than average, I'm sure we can sign an average player for a hell of a lot less than what JJ wanted and received from San Fran. So far, all in all, I'm happy that TD has not gone out and spent a ton of money on anyone yet. Lets just sit back, relax, and enjoy the free agency period and see what TD, the scouting dept, and coaching staff have in mind. The only thing I'm anxious about is what we're going to get for Travis.
  12. Didn't Clayton just say on Friday that the deal was as good as done? Just goes to show you that these talking heads know about as much as we do.
  13. We're DOOOOOOOOMMMMMED!
  14. To be honest with you, I thought Drew played "Too Careful" this past year. Almost like he was afraid of making the big mistakes.
  15. Agree completely, then again, who had a decent game against Pittsburgh. That game was one colossal team related Brain Fart.
  16. Remember, Pat Williams' number one job was not to put pressure on the QB, but to stuff the run, then to occupy the OL so the linebackers could finish the job.
  17. I would take the Grove deal first and if that couldn't happen the Shelton deal would be fine with me. We need a replacement for JJ and Grove is the younger of the two, but I'd be fine with either of them.
  18. I still can't believe that many people don't understand the original post, even after it has been explained a couple of times. One last time: Because John Clayton said its a sure thing, it must be wrong. Pretty simple.
  19. 1. Don't know where you get that, coaching staff is very impressed with how he's doing in only this short period of time in the offseason. 2. Personally, I haven't heard that one. Heard an NFL team may play a game there in the future. 3. Henry was also benched last year. Lineman was benched for last two games of season after getting hurt. 4. Yeah, because Coles is just great. 5. JJ and PW not worth their asking prices. 6. And they'll probably win this year too. Unless loss of both coordinators hurts them.
  20. TD was one of Clarett's biggest critics last year. I doubt very much they are thinking of taking him.
  21. I agree, Drew had his chance and never took control. Last year he really didn't play any better than an average QB, if that good. Most of those games were won by Defense and ST. The Drew experiment is over. We may miss the playoffs this year, but really, how much worse could JP be than Drew has been?
  22. I was hoping those would be movie episodes 7-9. Those were great.
  23. I doubt it because we cut him. So he was no longer a member of the Bills.
  24. Before seeing the new movie, in the meantime, I highly recommend "Labyrinth of Evil". It takes place between Episodes 2 and 3. There's a hell of a lot of action between the two movies.
