  1. This thread has really gotten me to thinking when will I be so pissed at TD that I want him gone. He has done many good things for us and some bad all of which are debated above. Please remember that he is also President, so in reality, I don't think what we the fans think about TD matters one whit to Wilson. I do not expect to make the playoffs this year. I think that will be too difficult with a 1st year starter (I know the whole Big Ben scenario from last year, so I know its not impossible, its just improbable). So unless this team drops back to 3-13 or 2-14 or just something horrendous like that, I would give this year a pass. But looking ahead to 2006, I not only expect to make the playoffs, but I fully expect to be a competitor for the SB. That means either a Division title or a very close record to whoever wins the AFC East. And if we go in as a Wild Card, a decisive win in that game. With one year with JP starting and if the defense still remains among the best (and it should), this team will have absolutely no excuse in 2006. Basically, I'm giving TD a pass this year. The coaching staff looks like it is going to be a good one. We have the players, the only question is at the most important position on the team. Since we did not do a whole lot with the OLine, I'm putting all blame on the OLine on the coaches, its obvious they feel we have the talent to put together a decent Line. I think this year we start out slow as JP and the OLine get up to speed, 3-5 in the beginning, but finish strong at 6-2 to finish up with a 9-7 record, missing the playoffs.
  2. Ouch, that does hurt. You wouldn't think Buffalo and Jacksonville should be in that company.
  3. I was surprised too at how many are still with the team, especially in the last 2 drafts. Still, you're right, it would be nice if more of them were starters.
  4. The Bills' drafts with TD, as I said, I'm okay with his drafts. 2001 Rd Sel# Player Pos. 6. Here's the Pats last 4 drafts not including 2005. A couple of very good players (although 2003 seemed to be a great draft). Other than that after rounds 1 and 2 I wouldn't call any of them gems (Givens in the 7th being the only one). Interesting how the kicker Pochman was a Patriots 7th round pick in 01 now he is playing for us in NFLE and doing quite well from what I underrstand. Overall, compared to this, I'm okay with TD's drafts. 2001 Rd Sel# Player Pos. 7. And that's who the GM is working for, the owner not the fans. If an owner is going to listen to the fans in making his decisions, he shouldn't be an owner (Snyder of Washington). I don't love TD, he's made some mistakes, but he has done something to correct them. I definitely don't think he should be fired, yet and probably not in the near future, unless this team royally sucks this year, then I may change my opinion. Personally, I'm guessing 9-7 and no playoffs. I guess, the question is, who would you rather see (thats available) as the Bills' GM?
  8. I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. TD can give the team the best opportunity to win, but he can't go out there and play the game. He's not here to get the wins, thats what the coaches and players are for. He's here to provide the opportunity to achieve those wins in the most profitable way possible.
  9. This is from today's TMQ: Philadelphia: If published reports are to be believed, the Eagles passed on trading a third-round draft pick for running back Travis Henry in order to draft running back Ryan Moats. First, Henry is a power back, what the Eagles desperately need, while Moats is a scatback third-down type, the kind of player Philadelphia has too many of already. Second, Henry is an established talent, while Moats is a rookie question mark. Third, rumor had it Philadelphia shied from Henry because of his fumble stats -- one fumble every 46 touches, worse than the NFL running-back average of about one per 60 touches. But Moats fumbled 16 times in his two years as a college upperclassman, dropping the rock once every 33 touches, a red-alert fumble rate. All this is yet more evidence Philadelphia just doesn't get it. You cannot win the Super Bowl without a running game. Please Eagles, find someone who can drag tacklers forward five yards on a consistent basis. The McNabb era won't last forever. Give Donovan a running game to work with!
  10. Never give into a players trade demands, as AD said, thats a Very dangerous precedent to set. If TH wants to be a locker room cancer, his teammates will straighten him out and make him see the light.
  11. I believe, as has been stated earlier in this thread, that "anything" means "anything worth listening to". A late round pick for Henry? You've got to be kidding. I would've hung up too.
  12. Sorry, I don't see anywhere in there where TD lied.
  13. To tell you the truth if Warner even plays pretty decent, I think the Cards will take that division.
  14. Yeah, but I wouldn't compare to Travis, TH was a lot tougher. Henry would play through a lot of semi serious injuries.
  15. Didn't Alex Van Pelt break some of Dan Marino's records at Pitt?
  16. Thats not the point. The point is the EVERY column this guy writes is a tirade against TD. Not the Bills, but TD. It has become laughable, its so obvious he has something against Donahoe that he doesn't even try to be subtle about it anymore.
  17. Remember last year how we were pissed at Henry for "tripping" over the yard line and not getting a first down? Well McClendon would not only trip over that line, but he would also get injured and be out for three weeks. I'm a bit of an NC State fan and I did like what McClendon did for them, but he missed way too many games to take seriously in the NFL. I hope he proves me wrong and does well in the NFL, but I just don't see him lasting longer than 3 years.
  18. I wonder if Florio and Sullivan are the same person.... hmmmmmm.........
  19. Agreed, I wouldn't take anything less than a 3rd for him. He has proved his toughness and that he can get the yardage even with a bad OLine.
  20. That was my thought too, if he gets cut. Why would he want to sign with a team that wouldn't trade for him when offered and then belittled him before the draft, by saying he wasn't that good.
  21. To tell you the truth, its getting kind of sad. Sullivan is starting to come off as just pathetic with all of his bitching. Instead of getting all worked up about his columns now I actually kind of chuckle.
  22. Don't think he's going to have a choice. No one wanted him as their starter. He couldn't even solidify a starting spot on the Browns roster.
  23. It was a solid draft, I wouldn't call it great by any means but nor am I upset with it. I was a little taken aback by the Parrish pick, only because in an article a day or two before the draft, TD said the coaches and he were pleased with Josh Reed so far. So I didn't think we'd go for a receiver. Overall I'd give it a C to C+.
  24. There's got to be a reason why Rodgers fell to 24th in a "weak" draft, and it can't be just because other teams didn't need a QB. Kiper had him going in the top 3, well, obviously NFL scouts didn't feel the same way about him. I'm happy with JP.
