  1. That's true, but really only the Raiders and Pats games were played in such last minute dramatic fashion...I suppose you could add the Philly game too, but that's on the fence. So we easily could have a few less wins, but we could have - no, SHOULD have - have beaten the Bengals Giants and Jets. Still wouldn't give us a great record, but it would be enough to be in the fight for that last wild card spot. That at least shows a little promise to me, cause despite our handful of blowout losses we actually had a chance to be in contention this year.
  2. Our kicker (well now injured kicker) is Dave RayNer not Raymer, which everyone here keeps calling him.
  3. Yeah that's not entirely true though. You just picked two of the best QBs in the league so it's not a stretch to see how they overcome bad defenses. Also it should be noted that the Packers D gets a huge amount of takeaways, which is in invaluable to a team. Look at other top teams this year...Alex Smith is mediocre and pretty much never puts up big points. He's surrounded by a great run game and top defense, he just needs to manage the game and not make poor decisions. Before the NE game, Tebow was 6-1 with the Broncos, yet for 3 quarters every game he was terrible. Some of his stat lines were staggeringly bad, as he was lucky to hit a few passes a game. The thing is their D kept them in it, so despite a horrible performance, he always had a chance to win the game at the end with a solid drive or two. When the Bills D gives up 3-4 touchdowns like nothing in the first half, Fitz is forced to try and be Aaron Rodgers and score on every drive to have any chance of even being somewhat in the game. Very few QBs can do that...Fitz actually showed he could early in the season, unfortunately he just couldn't keep it up cause he's really not the type of QB who should throw 40 times a game. Another example is the Ravens, as they're a top team and Flacco - while good - isn't the reason they've been winning. All I'm saying is if our D wasn't awful and could perform like those teams, Fitz would have a much better chance at winning, like the aforementioned Alex Smith, or Tebow. He's just being asked to shoulder way more then he should. I do think we should take a QB though if we have a shot at a decent one. Fitz is too inconsistent, and although he could be a fine game manager he just doesn't have the team around him to do so.
  4. Yeah well I'll believe it when I see it. The Bills ARE western NY. How many other teams can you really say that about? A few, but not many. The Jags are certainly not ingrained in Jacksonvilles blood. Sure anythings a possibility but relocating the Bills would cause an absolutely massive uproar, and I think it's clear that there are a lot of people very committed to keeping the Bills put.
  5. Buffalo is pathetic. The 5-2 start doesn't even seem real at this point. We are playing arguably the worst football in the league - probably bottom 3. Fitz can't hit ****. I stood up for this guy for a long time but I can't justify it anymore. We need a QB, and we can utilize Fitz intelligence as a mentor, that's about the best were gonna get.
  6. I haven't read most of these posts, so if I'm rehashing what's been said, my bad... I know Fitz gets a lot of the blame for our recent losses, and given that our offense has been pretty inept on this 6 game losing streak, I agree he shoulder some of it. But looking at what's going on in Denver with Tebow, it's clear that our biggest hurdle is defense. Although he's improving, I don't think Tebow is much better then Fitz, if he is at all. He is obviously more athletic and trumps pretty much everyone as a running QB doing the option, but his passing stats have been piss poor. In fact his overall play in games is usually horrible for the first three/ three and a half quarters. He somehow comes alive at the end, but if not for a stellar defense those late game surges don't matter. I mean think about, the Broncos can play an awful game yet still find themselves in it. We play an awful game and were down 3-4 touchdowns. If our D played like theirs we could afford a few bad offensive outings. If they had shutdown any of the teams in our last six, we could have pulled out a few ugly wins. Alas we constantly find ourselves down 20 points in the first quarter of the game. Very few teams can win games when they're bombarded like that. Obviously we have drives to respond and score but it suddenly becomes a must that we score on each drive which just ain't gonna happen.
  7. Fitz is our QB, so I support him fully...perhaps if we had a better option my attitude would change, but that's not the case. He obviously can play good football, we've all seen it. I mean the guy was AFC offensive player of the month in September. He's just so damn schizophrenic...a handful of games as one of the best in the league then a stretch as one of the worst. He comes back and plays great against a very tough Jets D, then the following weeks he becomes stagnant. I hate to say it but my faith in him is rapidly disappearing. Our once lauded "high-powered" offense is limp, I have no confidence in us scoring with the ball, yet I watch the Chargers and have no doubt they will. It's pretty sad...first time I've turned off the game after one half.
  8. Wow, people are really reaching here aren't they? I love Fitz's beard, it's completely awesome and badass. To say he should shave it because it doesn't match some ridiculous player criteria you've come up with in your head is pretty sad. Let the man look how he wants to look. To say it has any effect on his playing is laughable and a pathetic attempt to try and knock him down. But go ahead, keep up the ultra conservative attitude. Forget the fact that many years ago beards were very common in people of high power. Per Wikipedia, from Lincolns presidency to Tafts, "The beard became linked in this period with notions of masculinity and male courage." But bottom line here is that beards are awesome. Plus, many other NFL players have them - Nick Mangold comes to mind. Jake Plummer used to have an awesome look with long hair and a beard. Heck even Andrew Lucks been rocking a cool beard. Stop hating!
  9. Ehh, Manning would be a pretty bad move. We don't need 30 year old injured Peyton Manning, we need to find our own young Manning. I want the QB who finally takes us there to be a Bill from the start and always one, a la Jim Kelly. Plus, for some reason I doubt that we'd be doing that much better this year with a top QB. Well maybe Brady or Rodgers, but this team has too many injuries and concerns beyond QB that must be addressed.
  10. Yet he's got one of the best completion % in the league? Seriously, watch some other football games. You will notice that pretty much every QB misses a lot of passes during games - many in fact miss much more then Fitz. I'm not saying Fitz is perfect and he has thrown bad passes, but I've also seen him show crazy accuracy skills. Some passes in the Jets game were amazingly tight windows he hit spot on. The last touchdown in the Titans game was also seriously threading the needle. It was impressive to say the least.
  11. The Bills have always been the coolest team in the league to me. I don't know why when I was like 9 I decided to became a fan (well I do live in NY, 5 hours away from Buf), but something just drew me to them. There's something about them that's unlike any other team in the league. Like others have stated, I couldn't not root for them or be anything less then a huge fan, even if I wanted to.
  12. How is he "figured out" beyond anyone else? Here, I have figured out every QB in the league; get pressure, sack them, cover their WRs. And for someone who's figured out he still manages to be top 10 in most categories...pretty damn impressive. If anything you could say the offense and it's scheme have been figured out. Still though there's video out there on how best to play EVERY team, that doesn't mean it's always gonna happen. As long as the WRs run good routes and get open, and Fitz doesn't make big mistakes, they can compete with anyone.
  13. Okay...but where are all these elite QBs supposedly waiting in the wings for us? We've been saying the same thing for over a decade now, that our guy is right around the corner if only we get rid of our current QB - yet it NEVER happens like that. We get another Edwards or Losman and the cycle keeps on repeating. I think Fitz is good enough to get this team to the playoffs, but I def wouldn't call him elite. He's in the top third of just about every category with some very solid numbers, yet his biggest issue is consistency. Still though, I do think he's better then at least 15-20 QBs starting right now. People should realize that all QBs have plenty of missed passes each game, and some they wish they could have back...it's just how it is. He was a touch off on a few passes against the Jets on that last drive, but he also threw a few perfect balls that should have been caught but they weren't. Overall Fitz is far from this teams biggest concern. Yes he likely won't be a hall-of-famer, but with a strong, not injury riddled team around him he can win us games. So until we do find our Aaron Rodgers, this is what we got, and it could be a LOT worse. So instead of whining about him, I'm gonna support him because he'll be our guy for a few years...but that doesn't mean I'm blind to his shortcomings either. And seriously, the noodle arm thing needs to stop. We've seen him throwing 50 yard passes - like Stevies drop in the Pitt game last year - without much strain. How much more do you really need? FYI, they've lost 6 out of the last 8, not 7. And it's a team sport, the defense and receivers played a huge role in our losses. Fitz shouldn't have to shoulder that all.
  14. Yes, people love to forget we have one of the worst defenses in the league. Unless were the Packers or NE, it's just too tough to overcome.
  15. It's just laughable at this point. We should have won these past two games, just keep shooting ourselves in the feet. Last week, penalties, botched kicks, blown 3rd and long, dropped passes. This week...TD called back (which was a point swing), fumbles everytime we got something going. I'm not gonna blame Fitz, I thought apart from a few throws - one pretty bad overthrow - his play could have got us a W. More drops, like usual. I would love to just win 1 more this year...yet I have little faith.
