  1. There is nothing to leak --- We are drafting 8th. everybody knows the top rated ten to fifteen guys, everybody knows the needs of all the teams in the top ten. If a player isn't there for your first need then you pick the player that fits your second need. There is nothing to leak. The teams in front of you are not going to pick a player that you want just so that you can't get that player. They are picking for their needs also. This is not like when you are picking out of the top ten and you want to try and get a player to drop to you. You are not going to trick a team that is picking ahead of you into picking someone who doesn't fit their needs. Top ten is simple. If All three QB's go in the top five then we have a good chance of getting Ferguson, Ngata, Hawk - If two QB's go in the top five then we have a chance to get Hawk, Davis, Huff. The key is how many QB's are taken in the top five or six. Everybody already knows that we are not going for a QB. It doesn't take too much thought to come to that conclusion. So if you want to influence the draft you gain credibility by saying that in public. Then the next thing you say everybody starts to listen too because you gain credibilty. When Marv takes about the QB's and how good they are in the next couple of days watch how quick everybody starts doing Mocks with the three QB's going in the top five. That's when you will see all kinds of crazy stuff happening! That's when it will be possible for one of the top three - Ferguson, Ngata, Williams to drop to us. Marv is doing the right thing right now. IMO
  2. Denver will pick him - They'll pick anybody with a record.
  3. Try to forget Ngata please- picking in front of us are the Packers, 49er's , Raiders. You have to know that one of those teams will take Ngata they all need D-lineman. Even the Jets might fool everybody and take Ngata so that is four teams in front of us with a need for Ngata. So try to start think of another player for us to draft.
  4. Look for the name Brett Basanez QB Northwestern.
  5. Huff is an outstanding player and a natural leader. This would be an excellent pick and more of a sure pick then the big DT. There are a lot of DT's in this draft. We could get one in the 2nd and 3rd easy or for that matter Free Agency would be better because he would help us right a way. Draft DT's take time to impact no matter what round they are takin in. Huff should help right a way.
  6. Instead of Culpeper? Without a doubt. I really don't understand why you asked the question!
  7. You could not pay me to take him. He is a mess without Moss to throw the ball up too he looked like Rob Johnson this season.
  8. With a young player like Josh Reed you always have this sicking feeling that he will go to another team and become the player that we all thought he could be. Maybe he needs a different system or team or coaching. But Teague has done his best and we all know what that best is. It might have been better for him to have never moved to center. He should have stayed at LT or RT. I think it would have been better for him. He just never had the true bulk or quickness for the center position. IMO I just hope Reed signs with someone in the NFC. I don't want him to come back and haunt us. It would suck if he all of a sudden discovered what it takes to be an NFL player and we had to go against him two times a year.
  9. I would try to sign him even if Moulds stayed. He is a quailty WR that would be an upgrade to what we have behind Moulds and Evans now. I would not wait. Drop as many backup WR as you need too that are on this team now to be able to sign him and go to the draft and free agency to fill out the roster. This is not a big deal. JJ is looking for a home and unless he stays with Seattle this team has a good chance of getting him.
  10. I'm sure that Backus and Person could both be signed and it would be up to them to beat out whom ever is starting. I also think that Person is still comming back from some injuries so I don't think any team that signs him is going to tell him he is an automatic starter. Besides just because Person was listed as a back up does not mean anything. The point is do you think we would sign him and would it be a good signing - not if he is listed as a back up. Overall it looks like a solid plan and I believe the Bills still have the ability to be a playoff team. They are much better then a 5&11 team. That's what made this season so disapointing. We all feel that this team is not a 5 & 11 team. They need a little help on both lines but so do most teams. Hopefully we will have better coaching and a smoother front office situation and I think this team will improve a lot. I don't know what a lot is but I hope it's enough to get into the playoffs.
  11. I was not too thrilled when we hired April. I remember when he was with Pittsburgh and I just felt that he did an average job at best. I'm sure glad I was wrong and April is a lot better in fact I was one of the people on the board now that felt he could have been the next HC for the Bills. I have to say- when I jump on the band wagon I jump faster then anybody I know.
  12. I do get! I know exactly what you are saying. It would just take too much time. I'm sure there are schools that are worse and I'm sure there are schools that are better. That wasn't the point of the post. The point of the post was just about Miami and not a comparison to any other schools. If you want to take the time and check other schools feel free to do it.
  13. Please tell me this kid did not come out of Miami! Oh- thank God he came out of one of the other Florida schools. Just kidding around guys.
  14. You have a very good point but to be honest I'm sick of this post and I'm sure all of you are too. So personally for me I'm putting this issue to bed and believe me will never bring it up again. One thing I've learned after all of this is that no matter what the facts are people will believe what they want to believe. When I started this it was too see if I was right or not. I'm still not sure that I am but I was still surprise to find out what I did find out.
  15. You picked out two players out of 32. I can not make up a decent comeback to a post that is void of the issue. If you want to include Ray Lewis and Bubber Franks on the positive side go right ahead. But we still are only talking about 8 to 10 players out of 32 total players that were picked in the first round since 1990. Try just try to get off the Ray Lewis and Bubba Franks and think about the entire post. You are trying to say because you disagree about a player or two on the list that the whole post is bogus. I am saying that even if you add those two players the total number out of 32 that are not impacting at the next level is shockingly low.
  16. I didn't think for a minute that you did agree with me. I just felt you stated your case better then I stated mine. But the numbers are still the numbers and you can adjust them with opinion by one or two players. But when you add everything up (as you and I have) the actual number of players that have impacted the NFL in the 1st round from this program from 1990 to 2005 is shocking low. And I never said what Lewis did or didn't do off the field. I just said that IMO he is an embarrassment. It's still a good post.
  17. I said Ray Lewis WAS an impact player on and off the field. But you see the post isn't just about one or two players it's about a group of players. Picking out just one player that we may or may not disagree on is not the issue. As usual you have missed the point. You are consistent!
  18. No doubt too complicated for you. urinal- urinal - I have to get that right for the next time. Dam I hate when that happens.
  19. An excellent post. You stated your case much better then I did. Now lets see what the reaction is!
  20. At what point of my post did I say that Ray Lewis was NOT an impacting player? In fact -- I gave him credit for being impacting on and off the field. You really need to read before you post. Watch my lips BEFORE you post! That's the key. If you read BEFORE you post you will see that the post is not about Ray Lewis. I said that he was an embarrasment. So I guess you would be in agreement with me if old Ray had not won a Super Bowl?? As far as not knowing what I'm talking about. Anybody that backs what Ray Lewis does off the field because he won a Super Bowl on the field is so void of brain matter that I find it very hard to respect them. What the heck is a Hokie anyway is it the name of the stick your dad beat you with?
  21. So then I'm right about the urnial ?? Finaly I'm right about something.
  22. Ok fine we will add Willis to the list of great players who have lived up to their PR from the Miami program. Are you happy know! That sets the count at friggen 10 out 32 Does that help you?? Some of you guys don;t know how to piss in a urnial. Dam you guys are excellent at missing a point of a post! It's not about one or two players it's about a group of players and adding one or two more is not going to change that. God help me!
  23. First of all I don't Hate any college program- because there are always good players within a bad program. Your right about McNeil so we can take him off the list. That brings us to seven players with four being picked before 1996. Bubba Franks - I won't arugue with you over Bubba. If you want to include him then so be it. Impact to his team means more to me then pro-bowls. Favre has never been able to count on Bubba to bring in the big play. But so be it. That brings us back to 8 out of 32 DJ Williams had a dramatic drop of this year from last plus off field DUI etc. This year Denver was taking him off the field in passing downs. Last year over 100 tackles- this year 55 . My point is that one season does not make an impact player. If you want to add Santana that's fine that brings the number up to 9 impact players out of 32 since 1990 Again Vilma had an excellent year last but this year was down. I will admit that it's hard to evaluate some of these players that have not been in the leauge that long. The Jets were down plus a different Defense. It might not be fair but my point is to show a pattern of inconsistency. A lot of these guys show up for the first year and the last year of their contracts. Maybe Vilma is not one of these guys and maybe DJ is not one of these guys. But right now they are! I don't hate the the U. I am only defending a statement that I said in another post that had to do with the draft- That I'm not wild about the Miami program because in recent years they have sent out a lot of underachievers in to the NFL. People came out of the woods and jumped all over me and told me that I had no proof of that and that I was a moron. So I took 2 days after work and defended myself. I don't have a problem being attacked on this board but this time it really pissed me off. It was a simple general statement said to defend somebody attacking a draftees height as a reason not to draft this person. I just said I would be worried more about the person or program then his height. Oh by the way McGahee right now is an underachiever. It's the way he ran this year not the yardage. He in my opinion is a franchise back not just a good back. Franchise backs demand that the O-line block for them. They motivate the line to block for them. Willis went through the motions this year. Yardage is not the issue.
