7. Buffalo Bills D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss The Bills need to get their franchise QB some new toys ASAP. Allen’s stat line has struggled more than his play this season, getting more accomplished pass catchers and bumping Zay Jones and 2018 UDFA Robert Foster (who has played well!) down the pecking order is in everyone’s best interests. Metcalf entered the 2019 Draft despite a neck injury, so at this point we have to assume he’s full steam ahead and no WR has the physical talent of Metcalf. 38. Buffalo Bills: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

They are two totally different situations of forward progress vs. downed by contact. Both calls were correct. It should be cased closed with different rules for the end zone vs. elsewhere in the field of play, but there are many who believe it's too punitive for some reason with the offense getting a do over.

Nick Wojton's take on Allen yesterday: Stock Down QB Josh Allen There wasn’t really a point against the Patriots where Allen looked like the Allen of recent. Instead, he mostly looked like the guy who injured his elbow against the Houston Texans (not as good, for those who weren’t getting it). Like the rest of his team, Allen never really got into a groove early. After halftime, Allen did improve a bit, but mostly again looked shaky. The rookie held onto the ball for too long, at times, while also struggling to find lanes to run to. Of course, not everything was on Allen. There were numerous drops by his receivers and as usual, his offensive line had a few plays they’d like back. But after his best game with his arm against the Lions last week, this wasn’t what he was hoping for against a formidable opponent. Sal Capaccio's take: BEHIND THE STICKS QB Josh Allen, especially in the first half Allen’s numbers would have been much better had Robert Foster not lost the ball in the sun for what might have been a touchdown, but the rookie still had his worst performance since returning from injury, especially in the first half, going 7-for-16 for only 48 yards, including an interception when he clearly didn’t see a defensive back in a position to make a play on he ball. At the end of the day, Allen finished 20-for-41 for 217 yards, a touchdown and two picks.

The Buffalo Bills had an all-too-familiar result in Week 16 against the New England Patriots. Rookie quarterback Josh Allen instilled a little bit of optimism in the team’s fan base heading into this one, but it was still the same old type of result we’re used to, a 24-12 win for the Patriots. Allen certainly made an impact on the game, but he wasn’t alone. NFL Week 16 Grades: Dolphins get an 'F' Dolphins: F Someone must have forgotten to tell the Dolphins' offense that Miami's season was on the line, because they choked big time against Jacksonville. After scoring a touchdown on their opening drive, the Dolphins offense didn't do anything for the rest of the game. As a matter of fact, here's how their final nine possessions went: Punt, punt, missed field goal, punt, lost fumble, punt, punt interception, punt. The interception was especially ugly because it was an ugly pick-six thrown by Tannehill in the fourth quarter that iced the win for Jacksonville. With 183 yards, the Dolphins were held to under 200 yards of offense for the third time in four games. The Dolphins lost despite an impressive performance from a Miami defense that racked up six sacks and held Jacksonville's offense to just 10 points.

NFL Week 16 Grades New England 24-12 over Buffalo Bills: D The Bills went into Sunday's game with one of the best rushing defenses in football, but that's likely going to change after they got steamrolled by the Patriots. Buffalo surrendered 273 yards on the ground, marking just the second time in five years that a team has rushed for more than 270 yards on them. Of course, it wasn't just the Bills defense that was bad; everyone seemed to be struggling for the Bills. Josh Allen threw two interceptions, tight end Jason Croom lost a fumble and Stephen Hauschka even missed a 43-yard field goal. Patriots: B Losing Josh Gordon might hurt the Patriots down the road, but it didn't hurt New England in this game, and that's because Bill Belichick decided run the ball down the Buffalo's throat. Led by Sony Michele's 116 yards, the Patriots totaled 273 yards on the ground, which was the team's highest rushing total ever with Tom Brady under center and the team's second-highest total under Belichick. The Patriots had four players rush for more than 35 yards, with Rex Burkhead (39), James White (41) and Cordarrelle Patterson (66) all joining Michele. It's a good news the Patriots running game was working, because Brady was off. The Patriots quarterback threw two interceptions and finished with just 126 yards passing.

The answer is still no.

Both sides are over the top. It is fair when people try to excuse away Allen's obvious need for improvement regarless of how talented as he is. The skill players aren't that good and we already know that. Too many act as if they are the only problem and try to absolve Allen of blame when he clearly has room to grow and improve. Then we have these kind of threads.

The Patriots really live in the mind, body, and soul of too many Bills' fans.

The Allen Bunker Brigade is on the scene acting as if he has no room for growth and improvement in a number of aspects. It's all on the receiving corps.

NE will still have to travel to Arrowhead in the AFC Championship game if they both get there.

So what they are today as rookies is what they'll always be?

NE is nothing special this season and that feeling should have no meaning regarding Mahomes.
