Here's a story on Adrian Peterson from Yahoo.
Cynical replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Comparing Thurman's injury to Peterson's injuries is a bit of a stretch. TT blew out his knee in his Junior year. At that time, knee reconstruction was not as advanced as now. Teams were tentative about how well TT's knee would hold up, even after TT ran for 1600+ yards during his Senior season on said "bad knee". AP' problems stem from the fact he has missed significant playing time because of different injuries at the college level. In the pro's, on average, defensive players are bigger, faster, and hit harder. -
San Diego Union-Trib Article from TBD Frontpage
Cynical replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a horrible article, but he is pandering to the Charger fan base. First, as we saw in another thread, Charger fans seem to think a first round pick is not only fair, but is required. Sorry, the market says NO. Second, all Charger fans seem to think they will get awarded a compensatory pick if they lose Turner next year as a UFA. Sorry, no guarantee that will happen. Third, Trotter is working on the premise the Bills HAVE to have a great RB. Sorry, the RBBC approach does need a "great" back to succeed. It needs "productive" backs to work. Personally, I hope the Bills just say no to Peterson and "Marsha", and look for a real RB next year. -
Some Dolphins fans have the right idea

Drew was mentioned in the thread. The only negative comments about Drew: They have a bad o-line. So, if the O-line was good, Drew would be desirable. Works for me. Maybe they can talk Mularkey in becoming the OC again. -
Some thoughts from pats fans
Cynical replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did not bother to read all 6 pages of that thread to see all the updates, but I know for a fact the Fish Heads have more than 1 message board. They list Finheaven, but there is also Phinatics.com and Phins.com. And the last time i checked, the Miami Herald had a board set up for the Phins. nflfans.com seems to have a forum for every team in the league, so how does this list include the one for the Bills and the Jets, but skip the ones for the Pats and the Phins? And while I am on my soapbox, how could they NOT list the Bills board on the Bills official site? -
I know. I already had ideas of what I could talk her into. Heck, if we are just talking about sex with no commitment, I would tap every girl in that picture if given the right opportunity. Now, if commitment comes into the picture, stupid need not apply, no matter how nice she is to look at.

Number #80 on the left is not looking too shabby.

Jesus. With convoluted thinking like that, no wonder you are depressed. Let's see. You have been on this site for about three years, posting under a different name. YET, you never had the need to post until recently. How did you pull that off? (I'm just looking for an "honest" answer here) Here's my advice to you. Stay away from this board, and any other board that talks about the Bills. Go see a shrink. Those people can help you with your problems, and they can prescribe some really good drugs. Stop discussing football in general. Stick with a sport that you can handle, like Golf.

My Turn: Moving Back East; Heading Back Home
Cynical replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Property taxes are not the only determining factor of affordable housing. A $175K house in the Buffalo area is about double the areas median house price of $88,000. http://www.nhc.org/pdf/chp_paycheck_housing2007.pdf Where I live, you're not buying a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, w/ 2 car garage for $175K. If you did, either the lot sucks, or there is something wrong with the house. Here's another link about housing affordablility: http://www.demographia.com/dhi-ix2005q3.pdf That study lists Buffalo as tied for fourth for most affordable housing. -
The story never said "heterosexual" singles. Considering homosexuals are not allowed to marry, I do not think it is a coincidence that San Fran has a high percentage of "single" people. Even if you remove the homosexual aspect, I know of quite a few straight people who have been to SF, and talk about how great a place it is (my wife included).

Gawd! His patience (or lack thereof) was probably the biggest thing that drove me nuts about him last year. As this summary said, he's not a power back, so do not count on him to move the pile. Teach the guy some patience, and pair him up with a power fullback (for the short yardage stuff), he might be worth a look. As a side note, he went into last year on pace to shatter Shaun Alexanders rushing record at Bama, and Shaun did not turn out to shabby.

Most: Kent Hull or Talley. Both of these guys rarely got the recognition the "superstars" they played with did, but they were leaders on the field and in the locker room. Blue collar guys for a blue collar city like Buffalo. Least: Doug Flutie and Willis McGahee. The "It's not my fault" crew. Flutie learned too late. Will Willis ever learn?

Im suprised no one is into Re-Signing Anthony Thomas!
Cynical replied to Yasin's BILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent post, and totally agree. All these pessimists running around and peeing on themselves because the Bills no longer have a "starting" RB, really need to find something else to do with their time. Preferably something that does not require thought, as rational thought is not something they are good at. -
I get it. He wasn't the problem, everybody else was. Fugging loser.

How'd the Dolphins sign Jay Feely?
Cynical replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, like Culpepper, and Seau, and A. J. Feely, and ..... Where do they keep finding these high quality players ......??? The Phins got a kicker. Wow. One hole down, 50 more to go. -
No, Todd Collins forgot how to play football.
-
do you think the bills will sign rhodes?
Cynical replied to t.o. alllll day's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wants to be a starter? Got a link for that? During the SB, I could have sworn the announcers saying Rhodes actually preferred coming off the bench. -
But we no longer have a CB that can cover him.

I count two. 3-8-MIA 49 (15:00) (Shotgun) 3-J.Harrington pass incomplete short middle to 81-R.McMichael. Dropped, receiver at BUF 46. 3-10-MIA 19 (7:17) (Shotgun) 3-J.Harrington pass incomplete short middle to 81-R.McMichael. Dropped, receiver at MIA 20. Note: Those drops took place on third downs. However, even using this method is inconsistent. Check out the Packers v. Dolphins in week 7. There is no mention of Randy dropping the ball in the Game Book, but upon reading the recap for the game: "McMichael dropped at least two other passes, including one that deflected off his chest to Barnett. "My teammates depend on me to make plays, and I didn't do that," McMichael said. "I let my teammates down." And if you are still not convinced, think about this. The Dolphins have needs in a lot of areas, somebody that can catch a ball being one of them. If the Dolphins are willing to cut this guy loose (Randy's contract was terminated), he is not as good as you think he is.
-
I do not want him. Check out some of the Fins boards. One thing they do agree on is Randy is consistently inconsistent. He drops a lot of balls.
-
And I'm thinking you are wrong. I sat in Rich Stadium and watched Warren Moon play against the Bills. In comparing him to other players on the field at that time, he never struck me as being "short".
-
Since you skirted around it: 0-3. I do not know about "rebuilding". I do remember a bunch of talk of injecting some new blood to make the last great "push" before the salary cap blew up. Playoff appearances mean squat if a team keeps losing in the first game. But if something like that gets you giddy, get on the phone, and call Marv and Ralph. San Diego just released a guy that will consistently take a team to the playoffs, just do not expect to see your team play in the Super Bowl. Interesting. If Wade's problem in Buffalo was a "meddlesome" owner, what makes you think he will do any better in Dallas with that "hands on" owner?
-
So you have no proof, just somebody else's opinion. I do recall during an interview (or press conference) where Wade was asked who pulled the trigger for the switch, and Wade said he did. Oh, for what it is worth, RW told me Wade made the decision.
