very similar, good comparison! 2 guys 100% into their work with everything else being a box to check or an unwelcome distraction.

the sad truth is that none of that interests him... He's Dwight Schrute with more success and fewer beets

Tom vs Time. It's all part of the story. Is it really over? Has Time finally won? 100% story arc. This week he'll throw for 400 yards and a few TDs against Carolina and everyone will do the whole "not so fast!" deal. Anyone who has ever watched WWE has seen the hero get beat down, seemingly it's hopeless, but THEN! The rally. The more hopeless it looks before the rally, the better for the story. Brady will 100% be in the Super Bowl. You can book it.

I'd never pay a RB, unless it was Thurman Thomas or Barry Sanders in his prime, and those guys come along once every 25 years. Remember Todd Gurley, the unstoppable RB who scored TD after TD after TD? Didn't even play in their Super Bowl and vanished after into obscurity. So many stories just like that. Even "King Henry" the unstoppable is now just a guy who runs for 3 yards a carry. RBs are important for sure, but once they hit superstar status it's time to trade them, because they'll be done in 2 years.

that's it... the guy is a robot film study... avacado smoothie... film study... kale smoothie... film study... bowl of lettuce... yoga... film study Mix in the occasional plastic surgery to look "adorable" but other than that there's really nothing else there. It's like listening to a robot when he talks. I predict he will be horrific to listen to on Fox and will hate every minute of it, because the topic won't be Tom Brady

Football IS Brady's life. There's no room for anything else and it doesn't seem like he has any other interests. When he posted his retirement message it was all about supporting his kids and being there for them. Then he was like "the heck with this! I'm not the center of attention!" A handful of QBs have played into their 40's, but Brady is doing it because he can't function in the world outside of football. Peyton not only does his ESPN gig but also hosts College Bowl with Cooper, which is a lot of fun to watch. He's obviously happy and enjoying life with his brothers. I agree 100% that Rodgers will enjoy life after football probably as much or more than life as a football player. When Aaron's done he'll shrug, say "that was cool" and head off on some spiritual discovery camp in the jungle for 6 months. Say what you will about Rodgers, but the guy definitely is an interesting personality with things to say. Brady being the Fox commentator is going to be weird, because he has ZERO personality. He's a total dud, who never utters an interesting word. I can't imagine what he is going to sound like doing that job, because truly the only thing he cares about is the TB12 brand and playing football. Even when he's talking about his favorite topic (himself) he offers nothing but bland clichés and mumbling answers that say nothing.

I admit to sometimes getting frustrated with the coaching staff not playing rookies/young players "soon enough" but over time you see the same pattern emerge... "Why isn't ____ playing more?!" Then he plays a bit, earns more time, and eventually becomes a solid contributor. We have a top-notch GM and coaching staff. Then there are guys like Benford. The 7th round is barely paid attention to by fans, yet our 7th round CB might be just as good as the 1st rounder, at least at this point in time. That's not a knock on Elam, it's a testament to finding players later in the draft. It's not that Elam is bad, it's that BOTH are good, especially for rookies having to hold down the fort until White comes back. THEN, you've got 2 talented rookies who have played very well, along with a top CB in the league joining the team. GREAT place to be!

SF could very well be the NFC Super Bowl rep. They're built for it. Never a favorite but always make a deep run because they are tough, physical, and just find ways to win. and you say "well, they won't be able to do that again!" and all of a sudden they were an easy dropped INT from playing the Bengals in last year's Super Bowl!

Why is Daryl Williams Still a Free Agent?
TheFunPolice replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought I read the same thing but I can't find the reference to it now... I think it was in a tweet of his or something? Or maybe this is another Berenstain Bears tear in the matrix type deal. Yes, I spelled that right (even though I still say that it's Bearenstein). IF you haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet wait until you have some time free. -
Jumping on top of a guy who is on the ground should be a penalty if you care about player safety
-
This makes a ton of sense, thank you!

Ok looks like they adjusted it

Chance of converting is only 36% These stats seem made up

It's so dark looking... Only Amazon feeds look this way on our TV

People still fall for this? It's the story arc... Time vs Time... Our loveable, totally genuine awe shucks hero is down and out for sure this time... Looks like father time is finally going to win. And somewhere Matt Ryan is super bowl MVP! Lol It's almost time for Tommy's greatest comeback ever. This crap writes itself. It's like watching a horror film. The villain is never done.
-
This should be a pretty decent game. In the NFC whoever wins is very much alive for their division.
-
Uh huh... Sure. Nope, I've rode this rollercoaster before, although the ghoul is drawing us in a bit deeper this time. I 100% expect him to be in the super bowl, where "a great ending to a great story" is just a few well timed defensive penalties away. People saying they want Brady in the super bowl against the Bills are insane.

Will this be the year Josh Allen joins the 5000 club?
TheFunPolice replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
it's crazy that Manning's 5,477 yards and 55 TD in a 16 game season still stand. The yardage is going to fall eventually, but that TD record is going to be tough to top, even in 17 games. As amazing a year as Allen has had so far, he's on pace to break the yardage record but not close to the TD record. -
he'll go to the Bucs for a 2025 5th round pick.

Hackett is a watered down version of a watered down version of a good coach. Hackett made coffee runs for a guy who was in the same room with McVay for 5 minutes. Eventually the trickle down magic ends. At one point the kid at Starbucks who gave Hackett the coffee to give to LeFleur was interviewing for HC jobs because Lefleur worked for McVay for a season but luckily nobody bit.
