The Eye of the Tiger !!!
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah - i know he got hurt last year but come on. He didn't even have to cut! Legit grab any part of him... you can even justifiably grab his facemask or horse collar and ur preventing a free TD. -
Beating lamar is going to be about confusing him - not blitzing. That confusion needs to be through coverages not necessarily who's rushing whom. You also just HAVE to contain their run game and tackle well. Buffalo has a lot of speed at LB which helps. It's also a home game - maybe we'll get some windy conditions to limit their down field attack.

Can the Detractors Now Admit Allen's Growth?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wrote it on another thread - but man... a lot of QBs i watched yesterday looked absolutely lost. Watsons holding the ball and probably spiked 10-15 passes into the ground, trubiskey just flat out sucks, wentz can't hit a WR clean from 10-20 yards out, Goff can't hit a single pass that requires any type of velocity (but he can hit a deep ball!). I think trubiskey is going to get dumped, but Wentz and Goff got paid. Goff's boundary throws look like peterman - and teams are taking away the deep overs. Wentz has new receivers every week so part of it might be chemistry - and agholor sucks. Watson was shocking to watch - had it on my tablet and it was just like... he couldn't deliver the ball on time and was constantly low on throws or getting sacked. Yeah - that team can make the playoffs but good luck scoring the amount of points necessary to beat a playoff brees, brady, mahomes, wilson. -
Probowler John Brown?

I'd like him to get the accolade as i think he's likely going to transition into a #2 in the next couple of years. When they signed him i thought he'd be here 2 years as a speed WR, now it looks like tremendous value for 4 years as a serious #1 into #2 WR. -
3-7 Broncos in turmoil
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he should just hire a GM. He's already president of football ops. He can eventually become team president or something. And it creates some natural promotional path for the GM - if he's qualified. But he needs to take a step back. If they play like they did against miami - they'll win. They played with a sense of urgency on both sides of the ball. Front 7 played with a chip on their shoulder and made plays along the LOS and tackled really well. They pressured the QB with a variety of different blitzes and stunts and fakes. Offense came out and attacked - and didn't play scared in blitz situations. -
Josh Allen - week ELEVEN report card
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching - Patriots-Eagles, Niners-Cardinals, and Rams-Bears? Even a bit of Watson against baltimore. I feel a lot better about Allen. People complain about the misses, but Trubiskey is a year further along and seems more lost than 2018 Allen. He barely throws the ball more than like 5 yards and most of them are boundary throws. Goff has a nice deep ball but he is very scattershot on throws that require even a little zip, and his pocket management is poor to say the least. Brady was missing on pretty much everything over 10 yards. Wentz misses a lot... They beat us with run game and screens. -
3-3 over next six games and we make playoffs

Any given sunday. I don't look at KC/Indy/Houston as unbeatable juggernauts. -

Lot of the playoff teams cannibalize each other quite a bit. Colts play - Texans, Jags, Titans - as well as saints and panthers. and already have 4 losses Texans play - Colts, NE, Denver, Titansx2 and have 4 losses Steelers play - Browns, bills, jets, ravens (week 17, but they hate each other) and have 5 losses Raiders play - 6 AFC games, 4 on the road- Jets, Chiefs, Titans, Jags, Chargers, Broncos - not an easy game really on that slate Titans - Jags, Colts, Raiders, Texansx2, saints - and have 5 losses. I think 9 wins might be enough to get the 6 seed. Colts or texans get the division and 5 seed maybe? Steelers have the easiest schedule... but they kind of suck when you watch them. Rudolph looks worse than trubiskey, and they can't run the ball. Defense can only do so much, and teams will be smart and play not to turn it over. They could lose to anyone left on their schedule, or beat them. They also play 4/6 on the road where they currently have won 1 game this year. -
Their offensive line is really the issue. Killing their screen game, their run game, and pass game. They have no weapons outside of edelman and running backs - and they have no time to try and get the ball to the sanu's and harry's down the field. I think they'll continue doing what they do - stockpiling picks from free agent losses and buying low on veterans- but adding a young QB has to be somewhat of a priority at this point. Maybe Dalton or Mariota? Bridgewater?

Charks having a really nice year. I think Tyreke hill could also blow up and get like 6-700 yards in the last 6 games easy and be in the conversation. -
I mean - everything Garrett did was dumb on that play. Everything Mason did... was also dumb imo. You're seriously going to kick at the groin of a defensive end and try and rip his helmet off? I'd expect 90% of QBs to get up looking for the ref to complain. But i guess since the game was over they were just saying lets fight.

RUN DEFENSE FIX. YOU ARE WELCOME COACH
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haven't even brought up how you are more likely to get a holding penalty on a running play than a passing play - which i believe is also true. Especially when you employ Lee Smith ?. So you're more likely to gain fewer yards than on a pass play, and more likely to get a penalty (and the defense is less likely to get a penalty like PI, Illegal contact, or defensive holding). To me Play action is like a pump fake - its not going to get them every time... but if you keep doing it and run out of similar formations - its not even that they have to respect it, it just creates some space. -
And Goff got PAID. And it seems like he also got figured out right around the time he got paid. They need a powerhouse Oline to dominate the LOS for that O to work... and now they have no cap room since they paid - Donald, Cooks, Goff, Gurley, Woods, Higbee, Havenstein... even Hekker. They also will have to negotiate with or trade ramsey this offseason - and they carry about 25 mil in cap space including what they carry over. They can't really extend anyone, and there aren't cap savings to cut anyone from that group. They have no first round pick in the next 2 drafts... and their oline (which isn't very good right now) will probably get worse. I still can't believe they extended gurley, huge mistake looking back. Oh - and their best offensive player becomes a free agent in 2021. Yikes... Wentz is in need of like - 1 more target i think. Sanders does look legit though - so that helps. Jeffery is good but he doesn't scream like top dog #1 WR, I guess he's better than John Brown but i think he's just bigger. Ertz is awesome... but agholor has hands of stone and desean jackson is always hurt (and old). Arcega-Whiteside should be able to eventually fill that like #2 do-all guy (your robert woods type), but they could use someone in the slot with a bit more talent. 2 young players, an all-pro TE, and a former 1000 yard receiver/RZ threat - just missing another chain mover. If Emmanuel sanders has any tread left I think he'd fit nicely in there, allowing them to use the draft to focus on defense.
