  1. - I have to agree with you on Franchising Stevie, he is too good of a talent to let go. I think we need to go after a reciever in free agency that can mentor him and show him how to respect the game, score touchdowns like you have been there before and your coming back again. - I also would like the Spags hire but I don't think that would happen, I think a better reach for us at D-coordinator would be Mangini. He has a hate for the Pats and Jets and I think he was a good D-coordinator if he just did those duties. Kind of like Wade Phillips great d-coordinator not so good head coach. So Mags is a better reach. - I for one would also like to see us sign Bell back. He did a good job this year and maybe he can get backup money and just be a back up. He is still young and very atheletic. Sign him to compete for starting and let him be a back up, maybe he can stay healthy all year and continue to bulk up. He isn't going to be expensive. - I hate to say this but the strength of our team this year is the OL, especially the interior line. With all the moving parts we showed a lot of depth and am looking forword to the progress. If Wood come back, Andy Wood and Urbik, even with our OT's Pears and Hairston (starting next year) I am stoked about this.
  2. There was a lot of holding calls on the Pats that weren't called and some crazy holding calls on Andy that seemed harmless to me. I was very disappointed in the game calling in the second half. Plus if they are going to flag SJ for lifting up his shirt in the endzone then Hernandez should have been flagged to for prancing around. The NFL needs to get a grasp on this. I think they should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as it is not directly intended for someone on the other team or someone in the league. A little dance, lifting up your shirt, come on. Seriously...
  3. I guess we can say goodbye to Stevie. Why would Chan bench him after he made a penatly that was no factor in a game the Bills should have played everyone to kick the crap out of the pats. I know the season was lost but 2-0 vs the Pats would have been a sweet ending.....Goodbye Stevie we will miss you..
  4. Your crazy, the only fact that you got right is he is a second rounder. He is way more athletic then Ponder will ever be and I look at him more as a second rounder like Dalton. If Tannehill is there with our second pick and we don't take him we are the stupid ones.
  5. Tannehill will be there for us in the second. I like Tannehill (not because I am an A&M fan) but because he ran a pro style offense in college, is a solid athelete and the aggies ran a similiar offense to the Bills, always five wide a lot from the shot gun and I think he is a late first round talent that will be there in the second. Plus he can help at WR (55 rec, 844 yrds, 5 TD's redshirt freshman year) and is the solid second QB you are looking for to groom. I think you can get OT depth later, plus I think we need to keep Bell, we got pears for a couple more years and Hariston can hold his own and is the future RT for this team if you ask me. If only Bell can stay healthy he was having a good year and dominated over a good pass rusher this past weekend IMO. But the Tannehill thing makes sense to me. Move Smith to permanent WR and you have depth there on the roster. Still waiting to see what Easley can do at WR.
  6. 100% agree we need to keep these guys and Bell will come cheap.
  7. I watched the game on TV and liked the energy the crowd provided. The one thing I didn't like is the taunting of Tim Tebow, the "Tebow Sucks" chant was uncalled for. I am a Bills fan and wanted very badly to beat Tebow, but I like everything about Tebow. His personality, the way he presents himself and the way he handels himself. If I had a boy (I was blessed with two daughters) I would want to tell my son to watch this man and try to be like him if your going to play football. Plus I know there isn't a fan in Buffalo that doesn't wish Tebow was on our team right now....
  8. I really hope 4 of the 7 things you named happens, New owner being the biggest. Just sell the team to Jimbo Ralph seriously, work out some kind of deal with Jimbo at least where he would run the team and do with it what he wants.
  9. I have been a die hard Bills fan for quite some time and I have to say I am so frustrated right now with this Franchise in all. Here are a few things I am most fed up with after watching todays football game: 1. The Head Coaching - I like our head coach but I think he is in way over his head and is not the type of Coach that can wear two hats like some coaches can. He got out coached today by an interm coach in his first Head Coaching game, THAT IS SAD. I really think he needs to hire an offensive coordinator and let the coordinator take over this offense. We need to change our mentality on, not only defense but offense as well. Fitz is an OK QB but he is nothing more then a stop gap QB. He is not the type of QB you want throwing the ball 40 times a game period. We need to play to Fitz strengths. Plus the spread Offense doesn't work in the NFL for your primary Offense, it doesn't even work in college. Sure it works in college when a team like OU plays North Texas, but when you see a good spread offense play a good defense i.e. Oregon vs LSU, you can see it just doesn't work. We don't even run the spread right, I think if we are going to run the spread it needs to be more high tempo and not stop and go. I wouldn't mind calling the plays from the sidelines like they do in college but you also need to know when to turn it off and slow down the game. The pass happy Bills is getting old. CJ looked good today when he went to the outside, why can't we see more of that. 2. Draft a Damn QB in the first round - I like Fitz too but like I said in the first point, Fitz is nothing more then a stop gap QB. He got out played today by a QB from Miami who is nothing more then their stop gap QB. He forced the ball many times and couldn't even hit a wide open Stevie deep for a sure score. It is no secret that Miami is going to draft a QB in the first round of the NFL draft and now we should be picking before them so let's steal the QB they really like. I think this class of QB's is strong (Luck, Jones, RGIII, Barkley, even Tannehill)just to name a few. I know there is other needs for this team but let's just get the QB pick over with and let's roll with it. I do think Fitz would be a great teacher of the position and you need someone like that in the NFL that can talk on the player's level and lives the position. Chan is probably good at talking to his QB's but he is no QB. 3. Fire Defensive Coordinator - Promote the "Stash" already or plan on hiring someone else this offseason. Edwards is still in way over his head and his players aren't responding to him. He reminds me of DJ on the side lines with that dump found look on his face all the time. We need a DC that will get in the face of his players when they mess up and is not affraid to approach them during the game. We need to either say we are a 3-4 team or a 4-3 team this switching around sucks and I think it is effecting the confidence of the players. I would rather suck at either the 3-4 or 4-3 and improve on one or the other each week but not keep switching from one to the other (i hope that made sense). I know this team and Chan want to go to the 3-4 and if he does that is what he needs to run each and every week, he also needs to hire a proven 3-4 DC and let him run with it. Why can't we bring back Ted Cottrell back as DC. I mean we brought back Bruce for Speacial teams. 4. Sign some players already not career backups - I want to see some good news come out of Buffalo already. I mean why are signing guys like Pears to long term deals when we have FJ and SJ waiting. I mean I think they both want to stay in Buffalo, let's pay them already so we don't have to start over again. I am not a huge fan of SJ but he is great against Revis and that is huge for us. He is the only reciever in the NFL that has his number. He makes a lot of drops at crutial times but he is entertaining. FJ (even though he was hurt) needs to get paid. Now that we know what we have in CJ which is more then I thought and I see him having a higher ceiling for growth, CJ needs FJ as a mentor and a leader. So pay the man already, pay both of them. Another player we need to sign is Bell, I hate the fact that he gets hurt but in the beginning of the season he was playing great even today he didn't look to bad. I mean our offense is so predicatable when you know the Bills are going to pass 90% of the time he is going to get tested and beat every now and then. Pears is nothing more then a back-up yes he did play steady all year but I see our O-line being Bell, Levetrie, Wood, Urbik, and Hairston next year. Bigger is better. At this point of the year we need to ground and pound not air it out. 5. Letting go - I am tired of the IR list being so big every year. We need to cut ties with McGee and Parrish already. We always count on these guys in the beginning of the season only be get let down by week 8 every year. I am tired of it. Aarron Williams played awesome today and I am excited about him, and Florence even played good today. That long bomb he gave up was not his fault at all, he was playing it perfect, it was just a good throw and catch. But all in all they both looked good today. 6. This draft and free agency needs to be huge - Like I said draft a Franchise QB already, then draft a good pass rusher ( I also think we need to sign the best pass rusher available because pass rushing is an art in the NFL and your raw talent will only get you so far), draft another DB along with some O-line depth. I think our D-line will be ok next year with KW and Troup coming back (I am not giving up on Troup just yet even though I didn't like the pick at all when we made it) then the best players available. Let's make it count.
  10. No he is doing what a head coach and a leader does, take the blame. He is going to be the coach for the Bills for the next 3 to 5 years at least so get use to him. I still like him and think he is doing a comendable job for what he got handed. I see improvements dispite our record. Our interior O-line is great and suprisingly has some depth, but our tackles are still a need. I do think Hariston will be starting at RT next year and if Bell can stay healthy he will be formidable, but I also think we need to draft a LT somewhere in this draft or sign one in free agency.
  11. For one Spiller isn't a reciever, Second if you actually watched the game the ball was slightly tipped, and it would have been a tough catch for anyone.
  12. If Edwards is out (which i hope he is) I really think we should go after Eric Mangini. He runs a 3-4 defense with the Pats, NYJ, and Browns. I think he would be a much better fit then the other names being brought up. Plus he probably has some unfinished business with the Pats and NYJ. Win, Win for us.
  13. Well it was better then the Bills lying down and letting the Jets run all over us like the last 5 meetings. I thought that is what was going to happen after the first TD by the Jets in the second half after we went three and out. But the Bills fought back. Bottom line is your right I shouldnt be satisfied becaseu I want to win as much as anyone, and we should have won if Johnson would have caught that ball right in his hands. I like stevie, i like his fire, they way he makes it entertaining, but he is no #1 reciever.
  14. This was the first game I have missed watching this year. I usually miss one or two when military duty calls, but I did get a chance to listen to this game on the radio. As I listened I could tell the Bills played hard and it came down to the end. The reason why I say disappointed yet statisfied is because I am disappointed the Bills lost, especially to the Jets in New Jersey (That would have been a great win). In a way to me it was a win, it's the first time in 5 games against the Jets we didn't get bullied all around the field. So cudos to the Bills. The thing that bothers me after seeing the replay is, how could Johnson miss that ball. The radio guys made it sound like he wouldn't have made it into the endzone but it would have been a nice gain, I think after seeing it, it was a touch down all the way. Very disappointed he didn't catch it, reminds me of last year against the Steelers. But in retrospect if he did catch it we would have been looking at another big payday for another player, but now Johnson blew it and will come at a cheaper price and I wont even be mad if he leaves and we get a true Number 1 reciever for Fitz. And i am not so mad we lost because we really need more talent and I would much rather sacrafice this year for next years draft. We just need more talent bottom line. But I for one like what this team is doing on the field and can't wait to see them next year with another top 10 draft pick Williams, Jackson, Wood, Bell, and Shawne back. And Edwards gone as D coordinator......
  15. I have to agree with Cynical here. We fire to many coaches to soon. I for one think we should have never fired Phillips he was building us a winner. But what is done is done. Chan will be alright and we need to give him at least another 2 years. We need stability here not a coaching hot seat. Chan shouldn't and can't worry about his job now.
  16. Colemen would make sense to see what he's got as a pass rusher since that was his thing in college.
  17. It's not time for us to draft a QB high since we just signed Fitz to a big contract. Before we make any rash decissions reguarding Fitz let's get him some play makers at WR and see what he does first. Although I am a big fan of Ryan Tannehill (6-4, 222lbs) QB Texas A&M. His stock has dropped and I think he has what it takes to be a great QB in the NFL after sitting behind someone like Fitz for a couple of years. Plus Tannehill is a great athlete that can play WR if we needed him to. His stats for WR are in 2008 as a freshman REC 55 Yards 844 AVG 15.3 TD 5 and his sophomore year REC 46 Yards 609 AVG 13.2 TD 4 so as you can see he could be a valueable asset to our team and learn to play QB behind Fitz would be valuable. IMO. And we can probably get Tannehill with a third round pick, (if he is there in the third I think it is a no brainer.
  18. I think Hairston has played well for his first year. He held his own against the Skins, Giants, and Dolphins I think. He is probably our 4th or 5th best linemen right now behind Andy, Urbik, Wood (when healthy), and Bell(when healthy). So I give him props.
  19. I am disgusted with this team the past 3 weeks. Getting dominated at home by the Jets, caught Dallas on a good day, and the dolphins are kicking our ass. At the beginning of the year I really thought this might be our year for a merical, but now reality has set in. We really have no depth. here is my run down. 1. We have no true number one reciever. Many of you didn't like Evans, but he was our one and only true number one reciever. Johnson is just a solid number two or a possession reciever. And we have no depth at WR nobody on our roster is worth bragging about. Unfortunatly we are stuck, we can't afford a high draft pick on a WR this year and we have noone else to go to in the off season. Johnson is going to get some money and stay in Buffalo I just hope we don't over pay him. We should try and get D. Jackson from the Eagles since we have a good relationship with them and sign Jackson to a big deal. (I know I am dreaming but I think this guy needs a change of scenery) 2. We have no back-up center. A back-up center is important as we can all see from the Miami game. Andy is an awesome guard, but a center he is not. He threw the timing off on a lot of plays today but low snaps or just bad snaps. We should have kept Hangman for this reason alone, plus Hangman was a decent guard if needed. 3. We need to rush the QB more. I am tired of not rushing anyone but the 3 ro 4 linemen. I would rather get beat by brining the house and putting some preasure on QB's then just letting them sit back there and pick us apart. 4. We need to man-up. We are getting bullied on the field the past three weeks. What happened to the team that would come back from 17 down to the Raiders or 21 by the Pats. Where is that attitude and focus. These guys today have lost the game in the first quarter both weeks. At least against the Jets we hung in there until half time. This week someone needs to step up and call for an all players meeting and call some players out in the locker room. Don't bring it out of the locker room just keep it there. It will make our team stronger for the stretch run and we might have some fun again. I can't even watch em play anymore. Last year's 0-8 team was way more fun to watch then this. 5. SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE CHAN AND FIRE EDWARDS this week. He is in way over his head. This should be a no brainer and I can't believe he still has a job. His players on Defense aren't even playing for him. None of them are having fun at all and can't stop anyone. We have some players over there and I think if they start having fun again the plays will come with it. 6. I hate to say it but get CJ more involved with the offense. All the teams we have watched the past couple of weeks use a double threat at running back. He had a nice catch on the first play of the game and then nothing. We need him involved. 7. To be honest I like our LT depth, and Hairston might be the starter next year if you ask me. The reason I say that is because you can't count on Bell for nothing he is only good for 3 or 4 games a year then nothing (back-up material). Mark my words he will play again this year towards the end just to keep his job. 8. We are still two good drafts away from a winner. I love this team and I am sorry I like what Chan and Nix are doing. Every team hits a skid in the season. The good thing is as bad as it is right now the season isn't over. I would have loved to beat the Dolphins this week but a win next week will cure that. If we lose every game going out that isn't a bad thing either with all our injuries. We need another top 10 pick. That is the only way we will get Hightower up here.
  20. Are these guys really hurt or are their feallings hurt.
  21. I really wish we would come out hitting like they are hitting us. We are just getting intimidated by everyone and running away with our tails between our legs. We aren't going to win another game this year period. Better for us though we need the high picks.
