  2. I can see our DL eating up the bad teams. Bills should sweep the Phins and sweep the NFC West.
  3. If Aaron wants to come back now, it would solve the DL problem completely. Left to Right. . .M. Williams, K. Williams, Dareus, Schobel. Who needs linebackers at that point. If Aaron comes back, we should draft OT in the first round, WR in the second, CB in the third and two OLBs in the fourth.
  4. WR or OT in the first round. the other not in picked in the second, DE or OLB in the third, the other not picked in the fourth with a CB. That's how I would draft.
  5. The Bills glaring needs now are as follows: #2 burner receiver with hands (preferably tall) Left Tackle because Bell is more-than-likely NOT coming back ROLB or RE to compliment Williams on the other side Shutdown Corner the likes of Champ Bailey Here are the free agents available, according to PFW: WR: Mario Manningham (NYG), Mike Wallace (PIT), Laurent Robinson (DAL), Eddie Royal (DEN), Ted Ginn, JR (SF), Eddie Doucet (ARI) OT: Eric Winston (HOU), Demetrius Bell (BUF), Jared Gaither (SD), Levi Brown (AZ), Marcus O'Neill, (SD) OLB: Aaron Maybin (NYJ), Manny Lawson (CIN), DE: John Abraham (ATL) CB: Lardarius Bell (BAL), Jarrett Bush (GB) Wide Receiver seems to be the most logical next step as it takes time for WRs to develop in the NFL. It is rare for a WR to make a major impact in their first couple of seasons. Same for defensive line players. Unless it's a loser like John McCargo was, at that case they are over-drafted and next develop! I still believe OLB or Tackle should be are first round draft choice, with the unpicked one being second. CB should be our third. DE should a fourth round pick, as should another OL-man. One more WR signing to compliment Stevie and get the pressure off people like Jones, Nelson and Roosevelt (until Easley does something besides land on IR, I am not even considering him), draft a Tackle, CB, OLB and DE in the first four round and I believe this franchise can turn a corner. Should the Bills, on a side not, develop Mt. Jasper for the DL or the OL? I still want this kid to succeed! He is the type of kid Buffalo usually supports.
  6. QB: Fitzpatrick HB: Jackson/Spiller FB: McIntyre WR: Johnson WR: TE: Chandler LT: LG: Levitre C: Wood RG: Urbik RT: Pears There you go: David Nelson is a slot receiver as a possession receiver. WR and LT are our missing links. Jones, Roosevelt and Easley (hope he is healthy) would be spot players.
  7. DE: M. Williams/Kelsay DT: K. Williams DT: Dareus DE: Merriman (please be healthy)/Carrington OLB: Barnett MLB: Sheppard OLB: Moats/Morrison CB: A. Williams/McFumbles SS: Wilson/Scott FS: Byrd CB: Florence/McGee I still believe we need an upgrade at OLB and CB. . .but I can go to war with this defensive roster. . .and that DL is just sick. The question market is Merriman.
  8. Imagine a healthy Merriman, Dareus, K. Williams and M. Williams defensive line. My mouth waters looking at that!
  9. Sign a WR in free agency. 1st Round: OLB 2nd Round: Offensive Tackle 3rd Round: CB 4th Round: Linebacker 4th Round: WR (if can't sign a WR)/Offensive Line (if WR is signed) 5th Round: DE 6th Round: Defensive Secondary 7th Round: Wide Receiver We have a conditional from Seattle for Marshawn. Where is that one going?
  10. Music City Miracle. the game that started this downward spiral for the Bills. We haven't been the same since!
  11. Oh, did Sally get his feelings hurt? We know now what Tommy-Boy thinks of his teammates. If his clueless, vapid wife is saying it, we know Nancy-boy has mentioned it to her when she wears his pants. Cry me a flippin' river, Sally! You choked the game away! And have done little in the post season since Spygate!
  12. New England sports fan gloat with they win and whine if they lose. They are sore losers, and even sorer winners! Classless bunch they are.
  13. Before the Spygate events of 2007, the Pats were 12 - 2 in the playoffs, including three wins off the foot of Vinateri (no, Brady did not win them any of their Super Bowls, their kicker did). Since Spygate, they are 4 - 4 and 0 - 2 in the Super Bowl. Maybe the taping controversy has more teeth than expected, since, if anyone remember SB 39, the Pats were very cavalier in their approach to the game and seemed to know what the Eagles would do even before the Eagles did it. I sincerely believe Spygate helped them in their early success during this run. Now that they can't do it and were exposed, their post season record is much more pedestrian and their Super Bowl record is down right abysmal. Any thoughts?
  14. That's one of the weakest schedules I've seen in years. Outside of the division, Frisco, Indi (with manning back) and Houston seem to be the hardest games.
  15. Yeah, I also agree. Did you see the way he has undercut his team, not invested in it, complained about small market and refused to allow his GM to utilize all the cap room space the Bills have? His intelligence skills have diminished over the years. Hey, what planet are you living on if you don't think the only common thing in this long drought isn't a cheap Ralph Wilson?
  16. Exactly. So he can pocket more money, use the team as his own ATM machine and cement the move out of Buffalo when he finally dies by complaining how small the market is before he croaks. Old codger has a death grip on life and is strangling any success this team could possibly have. Worthless miserly wastrel. Honestly, all the lousy play and crappy teams have one thing in common: Ralph Wilson was the owner!
  17. 6 - 10, three more wins than last year. Younger guys are beginning to uptick, the team is very young. Let's look how this team could get better instead of whining about this season. Coaching: Edwards needs to be FIRED and FIRED yesterday! The defense looks like 11 individuals trying to do 11 different things. There were some good points on the year (Barnett carried this defense, Wilson, Scott, Byrd were all good), especially with the new additions (Dareus, Williams being major bright spots), but not enough to save his job. Edwards may be a good assistant, but as a coordinator, he looks lost and empty. The offense was too pass oriented with a string-bean strength arm that is inaccurate and subject to poor decisions. That said, I am impressed with the OL coaching. Chan Gailey - short leash. He may be an inspiring coach to his players, but what is he doing calling plays? Dave Wannstedt - the LBS were solid this year and he is the reason Bruce DeHaven - ST was solid, not exceptional. Curtis Modkins - RBs had an amazing year. Spiller and injured Jackson were great. After DLing the games, I changed my opinion on McIntyre. George Edwards - FIRE THIS LOSER NOW!!!! Bob Bicknell - TEs were good, if unspectacular. When will the Bills use a TE effectively again? George Catavolos - Lots of turnovers, lots of yards given up. Short leash. Eric Ciano/John Gamble - TOO MANY IR players! George Cortez - if we are married to Fitz, Cortez needs to spend months with him and get him right. Short leash. Joe D'Alessandris - Great year for a maligned bunch. Stan Hixon - Got alot of out a unit with little talent. Johnson, Nelson are solid. . .the rest I am not sure of. We need a burner. Giff Smith - Little rush except for Dareus. No Williams most of the year. Short leash. QUARTERBACK Giving a big contract to a career backup was crazy. I was not happy with that decision and felt it came WAY too soon. Thigpen is a backup up, Brad Smith is a joke. We need a QB. RUNNING BACKS Nothing. Re-up Fred and turn Spiller into slot/runner like Reggie Bush is. WR Johnson, shelf the ego and stupidity. I am growing weary of egomaniac receivers. Nelson is a great possession receiver. Keep Roosevelt. Jones slides down the depth chart. Is Parrish worthy of coming back? He was having a good year until injury hit, but he is so small. Slot guys are hard to find (look at that rodent Welker). TE Chandler is serviceable. 40 catches would be nice for him. I don't know the rest of the lot, meaning they contributed next to nothing. OL Bell has got to go. Too injured. The nucleus of Levitre, Wood, Pears, Urbik seems to work. Open field on Bell's position. Hairston looked good. DL We have nothing at DE. NOTHING. I am not completely sold on Carrington, but he did have flashes of good play. Edwards needs to be cut. Swtich back to a 4-3 please. Honestly, Williams and Dareus together are a formidable DT threat. Move Spencer Johnson back to the DL where he belongs. LB Are the rest of you sold that Merriman is made of glass and can do nothing anymore? Barnett, Morrison, Batten, Sheppard, Moats and Kelsay (ugh) stay. The rest I am not sold on. DB: Williams and Florence/McGee would be good together as CB, with McFumbles being a Nickelback. Byrd, Scott, Wilson and D'Searcy I can accept as safeties. K/P: Lindell and Moorman until they retire. LS: Sanborn is very good. OUR NEEDS (number means importance): QB - 4 Deep threat WR - 2 Pass rushing DE - 3 Pass rushing LB - 5 Offensive Tackle - 1 Shutdown CB - 6 Defensive coordinator FREE AGENTS UFAs Demetrius Bell - let go. too injured. Scott Chandler - short term deal Tashard Choice - let go. Reggie Corner - on the bubble. one year deal Andra Davis - let go. Derek Hagan - on the bubble. Steve Johnson - heavily negotiate. His antics are costing him money. Rian Lindell - resigned Kirk Morrison - re-sign Roscoe Parrish - one or two year deal Dave Rayner - buh-bye! Bryan Scott - resign Reggie Torbor - let go RFAs Chad Rinehart - resign Garrison Sanborn - resign Kraig Urbik - sign EFAs Bruce Hall - let go. DRAFT: 1st - Pass rushing DE 2nd - Quarterback 3rd - Offensive Tackle 4th - Cornerback 4th - Linebacker 5th - Tight End 6th - Linebacker 7th - Wide Receiver FREE AGENTS Sign a fast deep threat with hands Sign the Linebacker we need (since Merriman looks done) Any input?
  18. Don't forget Trent Edwards, JP Losman and everyone else that had one game of brilliance and then flamed like a match top! BTW, is Rob Johnson still a dirty word in our area? I hear it and it still provokes some violence in me.
  19. Bargain Basement Crap-tacular Old Feeble Past Prime Worthless Frontmen Ralphie's excuse Owner Hamstringing
  20. because I only get game day. I miss alot of games because of the 16 hour time difference and I don't know much about the college game. So, my opinions are based soley on the nine games I've watched this year, not all 15.
  21. Opinion time. How would you improve this roster. Let's assume the Pats try to get vengeance for losing to the Bills and the Bills go 6 - 10. Three extra wins over last year. Improvement, but the injury bug caught them again. Let's re-work the roster. I am not including rookies in this list. So, those who say Hairston or Johnny White need to go I am not entertaining that. What do we know about them really. When I watched him, Hairston looked like a potential find. I am also not including solely ST players, except Punter/Kicker/LS. QB: We're married to Fitz now. Thigpen is a decent backup. STAYS: Fitz, Thigpen, Smith GOES: No one. HB: Jackson needs to come back. I don't care about the injury. Develop Spiller like Bush. Upgrade FB is they need it. STAYS: Jackson, Spiller GOES: Choice, Hall, McIntyre WR/TE: Johnson should know he has the #1 here and will develop more. Nelson is good possession receiver and a huge target in the red-zone. Chandler does everything asked of him. I am mixed on Roosevelt and Parrish. Jones/Martin and the rest of the scrub squad need to go. STAYS: St. Johnson, Nelson, Chandler, Parrish or Roosevelt GOES: Parrish or Roosevelt, Martin, Jones, Easley, the rest of the no name scrubs. OL: What a good unit this turned into. Bell is too injury prone. STAYS: All four starters not named Bell, Hairston, Rhinehart GOES: Any starter named Bell. DL: Edwards was a wasted signing. Maybe we need to shift back to 4-3, since it looks like Williams and Dareus will occupy the middle with Troup spelling them. I still want to see Mt. Jasper get a taste of the bigs, but that may not happy. As for DE, anyone not named Carrington needs to go. STAYS: K. Williams, Dareus, Troup, Carrington, Sp. Johnson GOES: Edwards and the rest are marginal LB: I am sold. Merriman is made of glass and is a shell of his former self. Morrison, Moats, Barnett, Kelsay (????) did well with props to Barnett completely. Sheppard and White are still rookies. STAYS: Morrison, Moats, Barnett, Kelsay, Torbor GOES: Davis, Merriman, Batten is on the bubble. DB: Williams and McFumbles (??) look legit, Wilson, Byrd and Scott are backbones. Florence and McGee just look old, feeble and lost now (add injury prone to McGee). Jury is out on the rest of the rookies. Corto and Corner are on the bubble. STAYS: A. Williams, McFumbles, Wilson, Byrd, Scott, either Florence or McGee (probably Florence). GOES: Florence or McGee (probably McGee), Corto and/or Corner (probably Corner since he was cut once already). ST: Rayner is gone. Lindell returns. Moorman will be the punter until he retires. Sanborn is a good LS. STAYS Lindell, Moorman, Sanborn GOES Rayner COACHES HC: Stays OC: Stays DC: FIRE EDWARDS NOW!!! QB: Short leash with Fitz's regression. HB: Stays WR: Short leash with all the drops. OL: Give a raise DL: Short leash with that awful line play (save Dareus). LB: Give a raise DB: Stays ST: Stays Conditioning: Too many injuries Medical staff: Too many injuries FA/Draft We need the following measures: 01: Deep threat WR - Free Agent Signing 02: Durable, big, strong OT - Draft 03: Pass rushing DE - Draft 04: Run blocking FB - FA Signing 05: QB of the future - Draft 06: Pass Rushing OLB - Draft 1st round: DE 2nd round: QB 3rd round: OT 4th round(a): OLB 4th round(b): WR 5th round: TE 6th round: DT 7th round(a): OL 7th round(b): DB Be gentle if you criticize. I am overseas.
  22. NY Giants w Sun. Oct. 23 BYE WASHINGTON* w NY JETS w at Dallas L these toads play hard at home. at Miami w at NY Jets w TENNESSEE w at San Diego L MIAMI w DENVER w at New England L If it's good, 12-4 is a good turnaround from 4-12. 13-3 is pushing it. i still stand by my 10 wins and barely missing the playoffs early season stance.
  23. While I hold no ill will toward the Giants and actually enjoy watching them beat the Cowboys and Eagles, this week pits them against our beloved Bills. 4 - 1 is a nice feeling, but 5 - 1 looks even better. Let's break down the matchup: Giants on offense Giants are tied for 9th in scoring, are 13th in passing yards and 28th in rushing. This is extremely suspect for a Giants team known for rushing the ball down the throat of the other team. They are also horrid on 3rd down, ranking 29th in the league. Manning thinks he is an elite QB, but he isn't. Flashes of brilliance does not make elite status and Bradshaw running has just been terrible. Get into Eli's face and he folds like a novice at a Texas Hold'em Tournament. Giants on defense Another strength of the Giants has, for this year so far, been average at best. 19th in points allowed, 20th in passing yards allowed, 17th in rushing yards allowed and 19th overall. The one good mark on them is they are leading the league with 18 QB sacks. They are also +2 on turnovers. Bills on offense Bills offense is almost Marv Levy, Jim Kelly-ish this year. 3rd in Points scored, 12th in passing, 3rd in rushing and 13th overall, with only five turnovers and no fumbles lost this year so far. Fitzpatrick has been a diamond in the. . .the entire offensive side of the ball has been diamonds in the rough. Who would have thought? Even the much maligned OLine has protected Fitz for the tune of only six sacks all year, including none allowed by Wilfork, Babin or Seymour. The Bills are also 12th in 3rd down success rate, making almost 40%. Bills of defense This is definitely a stat where numbers can be deceiving. On paper, the bills give up millions of yards. 26th passing, 29th rushing, 30th overall. But, with all those yards, the Bills are 15th in points allowed. This is primarily because of their opportunistic defense coming up with 16 turnovers in 5 games and having a +11 advantage. Alot of this is luck, but alot is prepping, coaching and reading the offensive scheme, something no one believed the Bills could do. POSITION BY POSITION QB: Eli can be rattled. Fitz is ice cold. Bills edge RB: Bradshaw's been a bust, Jackson's been heaven sent. BILLS ADVANTAGE WR/TE: This is a push 100%. EVEN OL: Fitz = six sacks. Jackson = 400yds rushing. Eli = 14 sacks. Giants: Less than half of Jackson's rushing. Even Spiller has more than Bradshaw. BILLS ADVANTAGE DL: 16 of their 18 sacks come from their DEs. GIANTS ADVANTAGE LB: Theirs are capable, Bills are performing. Merriman has two sacks in the last two games. Barnett is a beast. Bills edge DB: Interceptions a-plenty. BILLS ADVANTAGE ST: This is a push. EVEN Coaching: The Giants are a soap opera. Chan has the team completely focused and bought into the system. Bills advantage. Even = 0 edge = +1 ADVANTAGE = +2 Bills - 9 Giants - 2 EVEN = 2 The NFC East looks down. Giants lost to doormat Seattle, lost to a pretending Redskins team, beat an immensely talented Philadelpha team, beatup a bad Rams team and barely beat an over-rated Cardinals team. Bills look to be on the upswing. Bills beat a focused Raiders team, a down Chiefs team, a marquee Patriots team and an immensely talented Eagles team, while losing to an upswinging Cincy team. The Giants are -3.5, meaning they are the favorite in the Meadowlands. The over/under is 50. Bills to win. Go for the under. Final score: 28 - 21 Bills.
