I kind of like the idea of adding Colston for a few reasons. I think his size alone would be helpful - he'd be the first down guy that knows how to get open to allow Sammy to get the chunks - he's not a premadonna type of receiver and would accept the role - with not a lot of cap space it would be difficult to get much better.

To be clear I'm not the biggest Rex supporter but I personally don't mind him believing he's not the problem. He has been an excellent defensive coach with a long resume. He seems like a guy torn because he wants to be brash about his defensive abilities but he knows he can't now. To me that's what's making these press conferences uncomfortable to watch - and has very little to do with him being unwilling to take responsibility.

Well what would you have him say in a press conference that he's being asked questions? I mean is there something he could say to comfort you? The answer should be no - you should just want him to coach the team and have them play well. So don't watch the press conference. I see somebody that's embarrassed at the performance by the defense and he tries to joke it off and it seems awkward - but he knows he's got to get the defense playing well for the ridiculous questions to stop.

The debate isn't whether he has the right to try. The debate is whether it's possible he'd be wanted. There's plenty of guys that have earned the right to try and keep playing - in fact many that have earned it more than Fred.

There's no way he's a guy that gets called if a RB or two goes down. He's the kind of guy you either value his locker room presence and bring him in or you never do. He's not talented enough to just use after an injury.

I totally disagree. I don't absolve Rex for how Mario played completely but you can't put trust in Mario over Glenn - just on that aspect alone. You don't let a 26 year old fantastic left tackle go - especially when the cap is going up approximately 10 million.
