  1. Well played. I do hope he helps in some way though - problem is we'll really never know either way. I guess he'll get some credit if we play good defense and get killed if we don't.
  2. I like the first part of what you said because I do think it's possible owners did not like that he took money from another owner - even if he had the right to do so within his contract. But the spirit of his contract was that he could opt out if ownership changed during his contract - to protect him in the event they moved and he didn't want to be a part of that. He would never get that kind of contract again - so owners wouldn't fear that. If he quit again he wouldn't get paid.
  3. I liked Whaley's response today on WGR. He said something to the effect - we didn't hire her for the attention it would bring, everything we do is because we think it makes us better.
  4. That running style against these current day monsters on defense has to have significant effect on the body. Awareness is at an all time high and I think we'll see more and more players leave the game sooner than we anticipated.
  5. From the root word Misoge often used for physical therapy.
  6. Here's another angle. In 2015 he missed the last 12 games - 2014 the last game - 2013 the last 5 games (although returned for the super bowl) - 2012 the last 3 games. If you have any hopes of making the playoffs there's a good chance Percy won't be there at the end for you. Again, the risk to me is getting dependent on him then he leaves so you're right back to having to work in other guys anyway. I'd rather start the year off working the other guys in.
  7. You're point is very clear and has definite merit. The only thing that I'd add to the argument is that Harvin became so critical to our offense that when he left we were reeling. I'd argue he was too good. I'm not saying I wouldn't want him but I'd prefer Sammy be the focal point and the other WR's playing roles.
  8. Happy Birthday young man. Your health is the most important thing.
  9. We absolutely have to move on. For the simple fact that he was being depended on within our offense and he's not reliable. You can't put yourself in a position to have a guy be important and then not be there. It's just not worth it even though his skills when healthy are very very good.
  10. I was chuckling. Yeah it really is. Hey if you're smart and can do the job - lets go.
  11. I sure hope they hire a male as the new administrative assistant.
  12. I would too. I have a gut feeling this kid will figure it out and he'll stay out of trouble.
  13. I don't recommend pissing Tom Brady off.
  14. It's a rough sport no doubt. I had an indirect connection to Justin Strzelczyk who if you don't know was from Buffalo (West Seneca) and his family thinks football killed him. I haven't seen the movie but I was told he played a big role in Concussion.
  15. You can be a prick but the men have to follow you too. Some coaches the players love some the players don't but the good ones on either side of that get respected by their players. That never happened for Marrone.
  16. Sadly I don't think we'll see Lynch run like beast mode anymore. I'd imagine his body has paid quit a toll.
  17. Brett Favre Jim McMahon Steve Young Jim Kelly Big Ben
  18. The team didn't look real good at all offensively they had an amazing defense. Parcells I'd argue was a very beloved coach by his players. He's the kind that drove his players hard but the reward was great and they eventually appreciated his toughness. There's a big difference between a tough hard nosed coach (Parcells) and a coach that alienates his players (Marrone).
  19. I've stated this before that I ran into Brandon Spikes at a BBQ place in his hometown during the off season after we hired Rex. I didn't ask him a single question about Marrone but he offered something close to this. He said no player he knew liked Marrone. He said he was unapproachable and always sat in the back of the bus/plane never speaking to players. Called him smug and arrogant.
  20. They are certainly a contender for the SB win but I think any of the 4 are capable. I also have no inner Patriot.
  21. I think the point of the signing is trying to find a helpful player without spending a lot. It's been done a lot lately at the position as evidenced by the playoff teams today.
  22. He had a really nice game too. You could see the effects of his leadership.
  23. That's a big stretch my friend. There's never been a fast playing offense that had good defensive play too?
  24. Of course there's a lot of different ways to look at the numbers - but I thought points and yards would certainly be enough to prove his offense works in the NFL. But if you want to see it your way he was 11th in 2013 on yds per play and 5th in 2014. Pretty good, no?
