  1. No way they cut Sheppard even if he is inadequate he's only going into his 3rd year, you're going to write him off after only two seasons with two terrible D-coordinators? Plus his salary is so low its not like it would free up a lot of cap room like say Mark Anderson, who I do think could get cut depending on his injury situation.
  2. I see a bunch of people have Patterson on the list, is he really that much better than any of the handful of guys that we could get in the 2nd round like Woods, Hunter, Patton, etc? I just think WR is crazy deep this year and you'd have to be absolutely sure the guy is a stud to take him 8th overall. Like an AJ Green, Julio Jones kind of stud which I don't think you can say that about Patterson.
  3. Matt Barkley Geno Smith Luke Joeckel Eric Fisher Dion Jordan Ziggy Ansah Dee Milliner Jarvis Jones I like Cooper and Warmack too but there's no way we should take a guard at #8.
  4. Really, no receivers??? What about the guy that despite injuries, poor QB play and everything else has managed three straight 1000 yard seasons??? I don't know why but you are trying to make this situation sound worse than it is.
  5. Yeah it seems like every year lazy analysts don't bother to do much research on the Bills and just say "hey they're a bad team so they'll probably take the best tackle" or like two years ago when McShay I think and a bunch of other draft "experts" said we would take that bum Blaine Gabbert 3rd and just didn't elaborate at all. That's why I like walterfootball.com, even though I don't agree with who they currently have us taking (WR Patterson), they do a bunch of research on every single team.
  6. Just like with Russell Wilson last year, you watch and read about Barkley and you can just tell he's going to be a starting NFL QB for a long time. He gets unfairly compared to previous Trojan QB's Sanchez and Leinart but his leadership and dedication to the game is miles ahead of those guys. Without him USC would have been an absolute train wreck last season. They were much worse than people thought they were going to be (preseason #1) but as the season went on it became clear that the defense was horrendous and once the center got hurt Barkley was running for his life literally every play. Seriously USC had the talent of a 2-10 team last year but Barkley got them to a winning record and a bowl game, the Sun Bowl but still. Please let him still be on the board at #8!
  7. Yikes! I didn't realize Jennings wanted that much. Yeah I bet they go after a lower tier WR like Henderson or Murphy, I'd also like Brandon Gibson or Steve Breaston.
  8. I know the Bills won't be trying to do anything huge in free agency this off-season but looking at how they shocked everyone and got Mario last year and at least tried to get Robert Meachum, if we do unexpectedly go after some high profile players who do you guys think it will be? Personally I'm thinking Martellus Bennett, Greg Jennings (fingers crossed), and maybe Rey Maualuga.
  9. Can anyone name even one recent example of a player taking notably less money to play for a "real" team? This happens in the NBA but I'm pretty sure it almost never happens in the NFL.
  10. No way the Lions and the Eagles are "far closer" than the Bills, both finished with worse records last year. The Steelers are but they don't have nearly enough cap room to offer anything that we can't. Its always about the money!!
  11. I wonder if this is a result of Nix/Whaley not wanting to pay him what he wants or them waiting to see how he fits in Pettine's D before committing long-term.
  12. I really don't see how this in any way insinuates that we won't re-sign Levitre. With Kelsey off the books now we should have more than enough cap space to sign him and some decent free agents, plus I doubt that teams would want to shell out tons of money for a veteran guard when this year's draft has a few studs that you could pay way less for on the new rookie wage scale.
  13. Yeah I don't see anyone giving up that much for a guy who is a major step down from the last 3 QBs taken in the top 2 picks. I bet KC beefs up their line and takes Joeckel to protect Alex Smith. I think waiting until the 41st pick to take a QB could be a mistake since whoever we would want (Barkley or Glennon?) would have to pass all those previously mentioned teams twice plus the Jets who pick ahead of us in rd 2.
  14. DT and OG if we resign Levitre, honestly we could use starters and/or depth at every other position.
  15. I've heard people say Oakland might go QB in the 1st but they traded all those picks for Carson Palmer plus they gave up a third in the 2011 supplemental draft for Terrelle Pryor so I feel like with that high of a pick they will go for more of a sure thing defensive stud. I'm mostly worried about Cleveland and Arizona since they are both under new regimes that will most likely want to draft and develop their own QB and don't have an established veteran on the team (Eagles). But if Geno is still there by the time Detroit picks that would be the perfect place to trade up since we wouldn't have to give up that much to move from 8 to 5 and the Lions could probably still get that Dee Milliner that everyone seems to think they want.
  16. Yes! He and Stevie (also a Cali kid) would make a great tandem and if Nelson can get back to what he was in 2011 suddenly we'd have quite an impressive WR lineup.
  17. That's it, he's not setting the depth chart he's negotiating. Which is a good sign because Leo's one of if not the best return guy in football and we used a 1st round pick on him so it would suck to see him go so early in his career.
  18. Oh I would love it if we got this guy, he was looking like a first round pick after the 2011 season. He regressed statistically last year but I watch a lot of USC games and its really all because of Marqise Lee emerging as a superstar and SC's awful O-line that gave Barkley like two seconds to throw every dropback. He's currently listed as ESPN's 8th WR so if we get him in the third round I think that has the potential to be the steal of the draft, but I could definitely see someone taking him late 1st or before our 41st pick in the 2nd.
  19. Exactly, there's no need to jump to conclusions like he should never play for our team or in the league at all, whatever "not be tolerated" means.
  20. I agree, while any kind of drunk driving is illegal as it should be, we shouldn't be lumping these two kinds of people together. There are those that get caught that were just unlucky to get caught and would have driven home completely safe without endangering anyone and there's the kinds that irresponsibly put random people in serious danger. It's pretty much impossible for a cop to be able to discern between the two, which is why we have the laws in place, but we should hold off on judging the person's character until we know how reckless the person really is. Now reading about Ogletree it sounds like he might be more like the second person you mentioned, the story I read says he was weaving in and out of lanes and that's why he was pulled over. Also he should know that his behavior is under a microscope now that he is projected to be a first round pick but we still shouldn't judge too harshly until we know all the facts.
  21. Man whoever Kiper has the Bills taking in his Mock 3.0 better watch out, first he had us taking Te'o and the catfish thing comes out then Ogletree and now this!
  22. I think you're right on with a couple of those picks but way off on some of the others. Here's how I see it playing out. 1. KC - QB Geno Smith (Has to be the pick, will be next McNabb for Andy Reid) 2. JAC - DE Damontre Moore (They really need a pass rusher and Moore seems like the best) 3. OAK - DT Star Lotulelei (Could be successor to aging Seymour) 4. PHI - OT Luke Joeckel (Eagles' O-line was beyond awful last season and Peters is seeming to be a bust, hehe) 5. DET - CB Dee Milliner (Lots of people think pass rush but they were relying on Drayton Florence last year) 6. CLE - OLB/DE Jarvis Jones (Has other needs but a stud like Jones won't fall beyond here imo) 7. ARI - OT Eric Fisher (Another team with dreadful O-line and I think they will try to trade for Alex Smith) 8. BUF - ILB Alec Ogletree (Toughest to predict so far but I love this guy and fills a huge need for us) 9. NYJ - OLB/DE Barkevious Mingo (Just seems like the type of player the Jets love on defense) 10. TEN - DE Bjoern Werner (Another team in need of pass rush and he is one of best of maybe 5 or 6 studs at the position) I really don't see any other QB's going inside top 10 other than Geno but that all depends on how the next two months play out with the combine, pro days, visits and stuff.
  23. It looks like linemen dominate the top of the list of prospects, which imo is a good thing because we should be able to grab the best overall inside linebacker which should be Manti Te'o or Alec Ogletree and I'd be thrilled with either. I'd also be happy with the CB Dee Miliner which would give us two young studs at corner like the Jets with Revis and Cromartie. Looking at the success of guys like Kaepernick and Russell Wilson we should definitely wait and take a QB in the second like Nassib or my personal favorite EJ Manuel. Only 101 more days...
  24. Yeah this will probably be better for Dareus, he would move between DT and DE when he was at Alabama where he won the defensive MVP of the 2010 BCS title game playing that way.
