Sure would have liked to see a sack or two on the last drives of Mac Jones and Russell Wilson....

But yes, they have been much more aggressive this year.

This.  This defense lost two games that the Bills could have won be sitting at 8-3 and at the top of the AFC East.   Great teams win big in Big moments...The bills failed on those drives, especially those ridiculous 4th down conversions.

he's made horrible mistakes, but vs denver and new england if the d stops either of these trash offenses in the last drive, we win.

vs the bengals, it's maybe a stretch but kinkaid not fumbling and we have room to win that game.

against jax, we had a garbage time td, but we had a drive where we did a cover zero blitz and let up a big conversion, if we don't give that big conversion we have every chance to win the game.

so if we just get stops on the two games vs the worst opponents above, we are 7-3 and cruising.

he's been bad turning it over, real bad vs the jets, but better play calls on either side of the ball, just a few, even with the turnovers we are in the driver's seat.

the man beater routes vs zone and the hole shot outside play (seems to always be mirrored on both sides according to the talking heads ive seen) need to be thrown out.

It is a game of inches.  Teams pile up wins when they can make those two stops in the game.    The Bills failed to do that...If you look at every other above-average team, they will have the same story.

McDermott is the Buck Showalter of the NFL.  Good at rebuilding a team and turning around a losing culture, bad at game management and getting a playoff team to the next level.

I was not for firing him until now.  We are 6-4 if the team does not commit a gaffe that a pop warner team should be disciplined enough to do.   I am at a loss for words.

Even Tony Dungy managed to win a SB with the Colts

think the root of the problem is that the roster isn’t as great as everyone thought it was.

Besides Josh Allen and Diggs, defenses don’t have to game plan or fear anyone else.

we don’t have any other receiving options (Kincaid may get there) besides Diggs.

the zone defense was great for 5 years against average to below average teams. They have drafted high round, non-impactful pass rushers and in turn had to pay 140 million dollars to a 33 year old pass rusher to overcompensate.

hyde and poyer are showing their age

besides Matt Milano, who do offenses really game plan for?!

whenever this zone defense faces elite quarterbacks it gets shredded. This is nothing new and has been exposed over and over and over again.

Everyone keeps saying we’re stuck in the mud, I think we’re lacking high end talent

That is the sad part.  They kept investing in the defense and ignoring the offense...and the defense has down the drain minus of MIlano and Oliver.

I don’t think anyone was giving us a 3rd for Gabe “3 route” Davis and we wouldn’t trade within the division to the Jets.

That being said, it’s certainly easy in retrospect we probably should have traded him. The bigger issue is Beane didn’t bring in a viable #2 to slide Gabe to #3 where he belongs.

We have not been able to incorporate Sheffield and Harty into the offense.

I can’t speak for everybody, but I watch a lot of other teams. I just watch them differently. For the most part I just want a good game.

When I watch the Bills I have a rooting interest, and when they stink I like to figure out how they can get better.

But when Herbert stinks I don’t give it much thought other than “Herbert stinks” and I flip on a 4:30 game.

That said I think Allen is the most skilled, but the most inconsistent of any QB in the league. Mahomes comes the closest in skill but it a lot more consistent. Allen is way more talented than Burrow but Burrow is a lot more consistent than Allen (sans injury).

That said, go ahead and grab another OC to try and settle this whole thing down. Spend our top 3 draft picks on a WR and 2 OL please.

    Just my $0.02

Burrow makes very good decision and is quite decisive.  And not to mention he has three fantastic receivers in Chase, Higgins and Boyd.  We have nothing close to that.   I also strongly believe that Taylor calls plays taking advantage of Burrow's skills and Dorsey has a problem with it.    Again, talent for talent, the Bengals offense is much better than the Bills.  Now add better play calling, we outnumber them completely.

I really thought these two guys would help strengthen our receiving corps talent, based on what they had done recently in NO and MIA. They both played meaningful roles in those offenses and served as as strong contributors.

Harty had his breakout year in 2021 (he was hurt last year and saw limited action in 4 games), and no doubt we signed him based on his solid production in 2021. Besides being a solid return guy, in 2021 his receiving stats were:

                                36 rec        570 yds        YPC -  15.8         longest - 72 yds

I know there are those who will say why do you want to throw more to these guys when you have Diggs/Davis/Kincaid. Well Miami last year, found a way to use Sherfield even though Hill had 119 rec. and Waddle had 75 rec., and Sherfield was gaining 14 YPC. Harty played on a team in 2021 that had a very mediocre receiving corps (no Michael Thomas that year) so he was asked to play a larger. What really stands out to me is the YPC under the current Bills offense. That may be based on the fact that they have been targeted on check downs more this year than in years past, but I also think it's a clear reflection of the short pass Dorsey scheme.

I think under a more dynamic offense, both of these guys could contribute more. Why sign guys like these if you don't plan to work them into the offense - just to use them as decoys?

Completely agree.  We have paid a good amount of cash and our offense is not diverse enough to take advantage of their strength - speed.

Miller's out the moment they can afford to dump him.  From Spotrac it seems that it would be a bigger cap hit for us to cut him than to keep him, but nearly $10M.  So he'll be around.

Plus Epenesa will hit FA.  We will then be down to only Groot as a pass rusher.   this team is in a mess.

Dorsey should be on thin ice, but Allen has been AWFUL so far today.

I know it’s hard for people to admit, and maybe he comes back for the win, but as of now when I type this, he’s the main culprit for the offensive issues today.

He can't do much when the pressure is on his face the whole day.  our OL has been terrible all day

I thought Dorsey's playcalling left something to be desired both of the past two weeks. I, too, was frustrated by the pistol call at the 5-inch line.

    That said...

The Bills are the 3rd ranked scoring offense in the NFL. They are behind only the Dolphins and 49ers, who most would acknowledge as the clear cut two best and most forward thinking offenses in the league. They are ahead of last year's Super Bowl participants, the Chiefs and Eagles.

You don't fire an offensive coordinator who had the 2nd ranked scoring offense in his first year and has the 3rd ranked scoring offense in his second year. It's just asinine. It's reactionary "prisoner of the moment" stuff. It's not reasonable.

Aside from the fact that the Bills, ya know, score a lot of points....Josh Allen endorsed Ken Dorsey, he likes Ken Dorsey, and and he wants Ken Dorsey as his OC. He's not going anywhere.

You want to espouse and suggest specific changes to personnel usage, formations, or offensive strategy, then by all means, do so. I've got some suggestions myself, and there are areas where Dorsey can clearly improve. But firing him? That ain't it. Not happenin'. Ridiculous.

    100% agree.

However, it is the big moments where Dorsey has left things on the table.  That is the difference between a guy who cam dominate with the QB that has been given to him

TE are not Joshes first read. It would seem they are low. We've seen there Kincaid has been wide open often but josh goes to a cover receiver 50 yards down field. It's ok though. Josh has trust for those he is throwing to. It'll all balance out in time.

Agreed  He has been going to the checkdown RB in Cook and Murray more often.   Go Bills !
