  1. This is an absolute godsend for the slow month of July. It's sort of like Hard Knocks for an entire 17-week season. It doesn't quite have the editing prowess of Hard Knocks, but it's fascinating to see how a team handles the ups and downs of a year in the NFL. Bruce Arians comes across as a force, and I can't say I'm not very envious of the Cards for hiring him. It's 8 episodes and 8 hours of football in July. The only flaw is that it's on Amazon Prime which means most are not going to be able to see it.
  2. He didn't lose a step, he lost all of them. Last year it looked like he was running in sand.
  3. Yeah I would feel much, much better with short Enroth. What's the problem Tim, he's Swedish too.
  4. General Fanager ‏@generalfanager Anders Nilsson has signed with Buffalo following trade, 1 yr @ $1M. Ugh, not a fan of this move at all. I have a feeling our playoff hopes might come down to our backup goalie, and this guy is....well, big in size I guess. I hope Ullmark has improved. Three Swedish goalies, huh?
  5. I would like it, but I think he's too small for GMTM's tastes. Would be funny if they sign Scrivens, with the lovefest between him and Lehner.
  6. I guess he takes Ennis's spot in the top-6?
  7. What a bunch of absolute nonsense. He's carried sub-par teams to the playoffs his first 3 years in the league. That rookie team he was on was the worst team in football the previous year. He's started 55 games and played under 5 different centers. Yes, five -- that's a QB's nightmare. He has a GM that has previously ignore the OL and inexplicably surrounds him with old talent that needs to be put out to pasture (A. Johnson, F. Gore).
  8. When they're capable of paying a player $15M per year, I don't think you can look at them as a developmental league. The actual number of players leaving for the KHL doesn't paint the full picture either. Russian players love to use it as a bargaining chip during negotiations, and it is a strong one. Exactly.
  9. Sabres see big upside in new defenseman Kulikov
  10. I think it's just beginning. Pysyk was probably not going to make it past the expansion draft.
  11. So, sounds like Nylander can play in the AHL next year from what I've read.
  12. His logic behind not moving up to those spots is pretty sound. “Right now I can’t move up into the top three. So I don’t see a point of moving to four or five or six,” Murray told The News Thursday evening after emerging from the NHL GM meetings at the Hyatt Regency. “There’s three guys I’ve said all along we like. We may have a choice but I doubt it, and one will be there. That’s how we read the draft. We’re happy with those three guys. There’s no point in moving to four or five. We don’t see that big a difference to pay a big price.”
  13. Don't like it. Murray already said there's no point in moving up to 4 or 5, not gonna happen.
  14. Yup. http://www.anaheimcalling.com/2016/6/23/12020630/nhl-trade-rumors-anaheim-ducks-buffalo-sabres-talking-cam-fowler-trade
  15. Yep, and I can already hear the crying. Add in $200M from the G4 loan program, $100M for 20yr naming rights, and we're already in the $500M+ neighborhood.
  16. Nice, we start the season with 4 straight games against the soft Canadian teams
  17. $5M/yr is right in the wheelhouse for this area.
  18. His worst move (by far) is the Moulson contract. /shudder
  19. He's traded a 4th for nobody (Brown) so I'm inclined to say yes, they would. Murray is building the team right, center-out.
