Not sure that matters all too much these days. Siriani was a quality control coach 7 years before he became the Eagles HC. He was OC in title only with the Colts as Reich called plays for them. Mike McDaniel never called plays and was an OC in title only for 1 year in SF before becoming a HC. Kevin O’Connell didn’t have a ton of coaching experience before getting the Vikings job. Look at Mike Tomlin’s experience before being hired with the Steelers. You just never know I guess.

Me. That would be terrible. Reich would be a disaster.

This year’s list of offensive candidates seems pretty short. You have Ben Johnson, Eric Bieniemy, and maybe Bobby Slowik.

He looked so incredibly slow out there. Putting him on the field is like playing with 10 defenders.

Except I’ve said this before today.

A lot of talent is a bit questionable. I think Beane is just as much of a problem as McD.

It’s more so about how much money he’s invested in mediocre players.

Epenesa is fine. I don’t want to pay him though.

Beane is terrible when it comes to spending money.

It’s effectively a 3 year deal is it not?

He’s a mediocre GM whose short comings get covered up by having an elite QB.

I think the idea is obviously to hire an offensive HC who you can pair with our franchise QB entering his prime. That new HC doesn’t necessarily have to call plays but it would be nice.

Slowik is interesting. He doesn’t have much coaching experience and this is first year as an OC. It’s tough to ignore what he’s done in Houston though and we’ve seen recent coaches who never even had play calling experience go on to be good HCs.

The BB/McD era could very well be over after this year. It’s probably time for new leadership at this point.
