I could say something really caustic and hurtful but will bite my tongue. If you really want to go down this road I can oblige. I would suggest, however, that you revisit my comment and edit your post as you see fit. Don't lump "all men" into the category of broadcasters I was referring to. For instance, if there were two qualified broadcasters, one male and one female, I would prefer listening to the man announce football. As you can see, I'm not unreasonable after all.

Al is ok. Shoot, Howard Cossell never played the game but he had a unique approach to announcing games. But the best color commentators usually have some "experience" to lend to the broadcast that a woman just can't contribute. In my opinion, that makes their announcing a football game manufactured. Women do a great job announcing tennis, figure skating, women's soccer, softball, gymnastics, etc. (all of which I watch when they are on).

Would you guys stop with the sexism allegations? Double standards? Seriously? Can't a guy express an opinion about his preference on announcers without the morality police and social justice warriors pointing fingers and screaming foul? Quite simply: I PREFER MEN ANNOUNCING FOOTBALL OVER WOMEN. Their voices are more in tune with the violent sport I love to watch. There...I said it. And this is coming from the father of two daughters as well (like Hondo above).

There's just something about women sports talk shows (like the Saturday morning group of ladies on ESPN) or women announcing football games that makes me cringe. I love women, been married 20+ years, respect them, etc. but I honestly prefer to have a man who has played football or a coach call the game. Just my opinion.

Now this is a topic I can get behind.

I would take the Corleone's as well. Michael was a great leader whereas Liotta got into cocaine and pills so his mind was !@#$ed up. Now if you want o have a war between Corleone's and the Soprano family...that would be interesting.
