  1. What're we thinking on Douglas? Bills have plenty of cap space to get him if they want him
  2. updated! Sent a 3rd and 2026 7th and got back a 2025 6th
  3. They certainly could be saving their powder for 2026 which means they wouldn't have to do any restructures (which would be great). But mostly this excercise was about thinking through what the Bills CAN free up and what the roster looks like (it's going to look a lot like the won they have now). I'm not sure a zone heavy corner like Douglas is worth big money, and if it comes to it I think they trust Kair Elam enough to give him a shot as a starter (he'll be in his final year) and they can add depth behind him in a cheaper zone corner Probably my own wishful thinking of wanting a pair of higher end athletes back there (Bishop is border line blue-chip athlete)
  4. Bills Roster and Cap are in very good shape I think. They can use their draft capital to fill out depth on the back end of the roster, and use their day 1 & 2 picks to potentially upgrade at corner and safety and maybe offer Dorian Williams competition to be Matt Milano's succesor. Landing Amari Cooper (assuming they can retain him) was huge as it means the Bills won't need to use a premium pick on WR this offseason (and can do so in 2027). You can also argue that spending some cap space to upgrade AJE might be worth it
  5. To start, the Bills will carry just $5.4M in Dead cap ($68M this season) with 5 players with Tre White having 4.1M of that. Total Cap Liability - 266M Top 51 - 260M Total Projected Cap space - 8M Total Roster - 45 Probable Cuts Von Miller, 8.4M Net cap savings, 15.4M Dead cap Jalen Virgil - 1M Austin Johnson - 0 (Void year) After Cuts Top 51 - 250.5M Cap Space - 9.5M Roster Size - 43 To get to 54 - 11 Extension: Josh Allen - 8 year, 400M, 15M Signing Bonus (Drop his 2025 Base Salary to ~2M, ~ savings of 10M in 2025) Gregg Rousseau - 5 year 100M, 20M Signing Bonus (Drop his 2025 Base to ~ 3M, ~ savings of 7M in 2025) Rasul Douglas - 2+2 year 8M, 3M Signing Bonus (Drop his 2025 Base to ~1M ~ Savings of 2.5M in 2025) Amari Cooper - 4 year, 60M, 10M Bonus ~ 10M 2025 Cap Hit After Extensions: Top 51 - 240M Cap Space - 10M Roster Size - 43 Restructures Ed Oliver ~ 6.5M Savings Dawson Knox ~ $7M Savings After Restructures Top 51 - 225M Cap Space - 35M Roster Make up Starters Needed 0 Upgrades Desired (obviously up for discussion) 1 - Safety over either Rapp or Cole Bishop 1 - Corner over Rasul Douglas Depth Needed 1 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 OT 1 DT 1 EDGE 1 Safety Draft Picks - 8 Total 1st Round Pick (Buffalo) 2nd Round Pick (Buffalo) 2nd Round Pick (Minnesota, via Houston) 4th Round Pick (Buffalo) 4th Round Pick (Chicago*) 6th Round Pick (Buffalo) 6th Round Pick (New York Giants) 6th Round Pick (Cleveland)
  6. Yea I agree. And to be clear I wasn't claiming anything bad. Chiefs won first down fairly consistently against the Bills O, and they did it more often against then Bills D. That's usually a recipe for losing. But the Chiefs have the best run D in the league for a reason, and I actually credit Brady for sticking with it, knowing it opens things up for Josh regardless. But Josh carried the offense on the money downs. He's why Brady can just pound for 1-2 yards on first down to keep KC honest
  7. The bills had like a 21% rushing success rate on first down. Say what you want about the coaching, but this was Josh Allen deciding he was gonna be scoring some points no matter what
  8. Mahomes is having his worse season as a pro that’s a joke
  9. I’ve got Allen, Jackson, Goff and Saquon in some kind of order
  10. I’m beginning to question my own ball knowledge. In my mind this is the worst roster since Josh made the leap in 2020. The defense has 2 borderline like bluechippers in Groot and Oliver. The offense has Josh Allen, a great slot in Shakir, and two really good tackles with some good backs…but this team doesn’t have a Stefon Diggs. It doesn’t have 3 stud DBs. It doesn’t have an elite athlete at middle backer. Heck it doesn’t have an established WR like Gabe Davis. It doesn’t have a single first rounder on the oline. But the offense has Josh Allen. Replace him with like Russ Wilson and this team is 5-4 or worse
  11. Morris wouldn’t have been wide open without Brady sticking with first down runs
  12. Josh ***** Allen. I mean Spags beat our offense today. He couldn’t beat Allen though
  13. You could tell how much this particular game meant to him in the field, it was big. But once that whistle blew it was back to business for him
  14. The chiefs entered this game undefeated. The chiefs are no longer undefeated . That is not meaningless
  15. Disagree. He's good but not elite Off the top of my head my list would be: 1) Josh Allen 2) Taron Johnson (he's not worth a 2nd rounder perhaps in an open market, but he's worth so much more to the Bills speficially because of scheme fit and how the roster has been built) 3) Keon Coleman 4) Dion Dawkins 5) Terel Bernard And that's about it EDIT Let me add some explanation. Allen is obvious. With Keon, I think it's pretty clear we got a steal and he should have been drafted in the top 15. This kid is super young, and has already progressed to the point where he;s getting the best of legit all-pro type corners (Riq Woolen in Seattle). To move from him you'd have to offer me something along the lines of a Marvin Harrison Jr or Malik Nabers type of talent or multiple first rounders Dion Dawkins. He's not elite but his positional value is super high and I think the Bills would struggle replacing that. Bernard is similar to Taron Johnson, but more replacable. However, colleges aren't really producing much LBs with his kind of skillset where he's very comfortable dropping into coverage, playing man, blitzing and still has read and react run instincts
  16. Why? I don't need dudes hating each other to enjoy a rivalry. I actually love how much respect these guys have for each other. As an athlete I talked my sh!t, but I only did it to guys who I loved competing with. And at the end of the day you dap up or hug that guy because you brought out the best in each other and you appreciate a competitor
  17. All these dudes are basically in a professional fraternity. Which is pretty understandable because only another NFL QB can relate to the unique life of being an NFL QB. Beyond that they do charity and promo work together, and probably run in somewhat similar social circles. The NFL Universe isn't all that big
  18. Someone in NY needs to be arrested for taking this saquon away from football fans by having such terrible olines Dude has an MVP argument
  19. Pretty insane of Beane and McDermott to just giving charity starter minutes - the 2nd highest on the team I think - like that
  20. He’s done it quite a bit for buffalo this season. Go back to the play where Damar took a bad angle on Taylor, and he was lined up near the LOS, which meant Rapp was the deep guy.
  21. I think borderline is being generous honestly but I agree with the sentiment, and the people I trust to analyze A22 stuff, say he doesn’t really make mistakes, very similar to Poyer and Hyde who were also limited athletes. I think mostly I think Hamlin gets a lot attention in general than he deserves. He’s a transitional starter While the 2 safeties aren’t quite interchangeable in McDermotts system there’s a ton of flexibility and overlap. Rapp has done well enough that I think it’s his job next few years, but you’ll see Cole given the opportunity to unseat Hamlin IMO.
  22. https://bsky.app/profile/aaronquinn716.bsky.social/post/3laohl4xgi22l Hamlin does a ton of good stuff out there, just because he’s so good positionally and at reading the game and reacting
  23. Someone's a 99 fan!
  24. To be elite yes that's the DLine. To be good that's the Mike and 2 safeties and corners who can play zone (with some man principles). This year the Bills have a fairly average DLine, and are tied for 12th in Defensive EPA, 14th in Pass EPA, and 9th in Rush EPA. You have the slowest secondary in the league, Taron Johnson missing about half the season, Matt Milano missing the entire season, Von Miller missing 4 games (and only semi-effective), DaQuon Jones falling off the cliff...that's almost all scheme, and that's also why Hamlin has like the 2nd highest participation rate on the roster. Edmunds struggled in man, while Bernard could do both zone (where Edmunds excels) and man effectively, which is why I don't think they wanted to spend the money on Edmunds. Bernard gave him a lot more versatility for disguising coverages. Everyone knows you're not leaving Edmunds in man no matter what you show pre-snap
