  1. Rex Ryan drove me absolutely insane. It’s 3rd down? What’re gonna do? Send 8! How about 2nd? Send 8!! I hate DCs who love to constantly blitz. It utterly deleverages your defense
  2. I was considering adding him!
  3. For sake of discussion, lets stick to the first 4 rounds of players the Bills picked this season, but first let me hit you with some data: I created a defensive metric called defensive splash plays, which is the sum of sacks, pass breakups, and INTs, broken down by Position and Round (I've only included Safeties and DTs). As an example, 2023 3rd round DTs had .45 splash plays per game in aggregate (Kobie Turner Y'all). For RBs and WRs, I just used scrimmage yards per game (bonus - can you pick out James cook's leverage without thinking about when he got drafted?) So - the Bills have 4 player whom conventional wisdom suggests will play this upcoming season. Keon Coleman (2), Cole Bishop (2), DeWayne Carter (3), and Ray Davis (4). I offered the data just as a reference point to answer the following 2 questions: What are your expectations for year 1? Can they beat the odds and still produce in year 3/4? We're all Bills fans here, so I'm more curious why you think they'll beat the odds, rather than if.
  4. I’m going on record - this is gonna be the best offense of Allen’s career to date. Versatility in the WRs. Solid OLine. An OC who loves the deeper stuff, a legit game breaker at RB…it’s all there
  5. I honestly get a lot of 2022/2023 Packer vibes with this group, through that group needed some time to develop into what it is today
  6. I think a better word for this is versatility
  7. Well I guess I disagree with you on what defines a field stretcher. For me, it's any WR who a DC has to worry about downfield beyond have single coverage because of their ability to win deep through a variety of ways, which includes speed, route running, body control, length and point of attack. Shakir checks the box in the first 2. Cole Beasley had nice burst, but wasn't fast enough to blow by guys deep, tall enough to create separation, and didn't have the kind of body control Diggs had to create space even with someone on him, downfield. (that's one of Diggs' elite traits, and the one big thing we'll be missing this season)
  8. he's there to compete for the back end of the rotation Locks: (3) Samuel, Shakir, Coleman Likely (1) : Justin Shorter Intermediate to deep Guy Competition (1) : MVS, Chase Claypool, Tyrell Shavers, Mack Hollins Speed/ST Guy (6) : KJ Hamler, Andy Isabella Why wouldn't you consider Shakir that? He's a 4.4 40 kid. We asked him to do other stuff because Davis and Diggs were locked into their roles. But this season he's going to get a healthy dose of the 2020- 2022 Diggs role which was basically any route in the playbook. He's gonna be a deep threat, and so are Samuel and Coleman. At least that'll be the roles they'll have, until they show they can not
  9. They in fact have 2.5 now as all 3 of Samuel, Keon Coleman, and Khalil Shakir will stretch the field in different ways. But Shakir is so good in his first 15 yards the Bills likely won't ask him to run too many deep stuff. But if they do...
  10. Game recognizes game in this case. Can't believe that nimrod in NY couldn't make use of him
  11. It is MAY. By what basis does "hindsight" apply? Are you from the future? Are you a time traveler? Are you neo? Are you the One?
  12. Has the roster of posters been filled?
  13. It was right there for us to see this whole time, how did we miss it?
  14. Dont think this matters outside of QB
  15. This kid has me dying
  16. Shortest big problem coming into college was that he didn’t really know how to play football, and almost no natural instinct for the position. An elite athlete that needed a lot of time and was still fairly rudimentary when he came out
  17. Agree here other than JPJ, who I think should have gone in the teens last draft
  18. He was excellent in coverage at PSU btw
  19. I guess I'm also a person who just wants my team to consistently contend. Maybe it's because I started rooting for the Bills in the early 80s, and thus spent my formative 20s in the midst of the drought and having the Rob Johnson/Dough Flutie Bills be the best teams since the SB years. At this point, I think coaching and GMs job is just to keep your roster contending for a championship, and anything after that is basically a crapshoot that's gonna come down to super specific matchups, luck, and the occasional transcendent talent coming through. This draft, the cap manuevers, and increased top 5 round picks, will keep the bills contending for another 5+ years, and that's all, I, as a fan, can ask for
  20. We've seen his FSU highlites, so just conentrate here on the MSU highlites, where he's playing against some really good competition with a very average QB. Keon, insspite of geing a 4.5 - 4.6 guy, show the ability to win deep (explosive) and the ability to make guys miss and create space (YAC). Like people get too caught up in just the 40. This kid gets to speed FAST, he's got incredible body control, and can win you 40 yards on any given play against multiple coverage. In football, the reason you want explosive, is you effect the coverage and forces scheme to put extra resources so you can't take your top off. Keon Coleman, with ihs size, elite hands, body control, acceleration, foot quickness is going to create deep seperation, and thus eventually DCs WILL eventually shade coverage deep on him
