Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi
appoo replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
My thing is post June 1? They might have to send someone like Kair Elam the other direction, but they can afford a Cortland Sutton Beane isn't just going to sit on 10M of cap space -

I do believe the Bills would have to trade someone, though honestly because of Dead Cap and bonus money paid I'm not even sure that would work to find 15M of cap space -

I dunno if the NFL rules allow for this, but for the Bills to get Deebo or Aiyuk they'd have to get an extension in place prior to the trade so they don't break the cap when they take on their contract. Aiyuk is much more likely as his on his 5th year -

Beyond that, there's literally no way the Bills could financially take Deebo on until after June 1 -

Can someone please help me understand why you'd want any rookie this side of MHJ (the most ready made rookie WR we've seen other than JJ & Chase since like Julio Jones/AJ Green), over DEEBO FREAKIN SAMUEL?!! -

I'm being a homer on a guy who I'm indifferent on if he stayed or left this season, and certainly believe he wasn't worth the money the Jags gave him? People are freaked the ***** out by the Chiefs name. They've been basically awful drafting early other than 1 particular pick -

Also Gabe Davis is better than any Chiefs WR other than Tyreke Hill -
Where are you seeing that? I'd love to upgrade one of the safeties, and add some depth at DLine, and of course another WR. The offense is going to be better than this past seasons

Y'all are on one. Worthy isn't the 2nd coming of like Tyreke Hill here people I mean, folks realize that most analysts and scouts had AD Mitchell ahead of Worthy yes? That's the dude I thought the Bills would be targeting. He's a prototypical perimeter guy. They don't need another midget -
When I played freshman football in 1995 I was an X
-
We need two because you can’t put that much pressure on Shakir to be a borderline all pro. In the past the bills could get away with just 5 WRs because of how good Diggs and Davis were. They’re gonna need 6 or 7 IMO
-
These kinds of dudes are rare - but probably super valuable here, given what else is on the roster. Think DK Metcalf. What’s interesting is that in the modern game they’re probably not gonna really reach elite status and they’re fairly limited in what they can do. Like DK won’t run routes that require sharp cuts. He runs posts, flys, crossers, and deep outs. That’s gonna be Justin Shorter as well. Jahan Dotson probably profiles as your average X these days. 6-1, and he wins with quickness and moves and route running rather than physicality
-
route trees are very different there. If anything, I think Justin Shorter gets first crack at replacing Davis if they stay in house
-
Come on man EDIT It occurs to me you might be being sarcastic
-
Nah, having a safety just shaded over or a backer shaded over makes a pretty significant difference. Teams don't double Kelce and others, they layer coverage. Don't think Diggs is wrong here.

As my therapist says - you gotta do you!

Yesterday the Bills had 7.5M in cap space. Today they have about 4M. What is the opportunity cost of that 3-4M?
-
I don't think any team would take this because the Bills will pick too low and no team has 32 first round graded players. Much more realistic is possibly getting to 9-12 in the hopes of getting Rome Odunze, and then if not him getting into around 15 and getting Brian Thomas Jr
-
That's my belief. I don't particularly care WHO the players are. But he's getting deep threats, and that's right in Brady's wheelhouse for what he wants on offense.
-
Beane said they weren't done. This is not what the Bills will look like in Sept
-
A rookie first rounder is like 19M over 4 years. Maybe trading for someone like Tee Higgins you'd use that full cost, but then you're getting 2 players for 1 Diggs
