The reason I’d consider Gabe is that when healthy (which is a big if), he brings one very specific skill set that the the WR kinda lacks - downfield route running and body control to be a deep threat. Bills won’t ask him to be the general 2nd option in the route trees, instead he’ll fill a very specific set of routes and generally act as the deep read on the field

Defense was pretty much intentionally handicapped for salary cap purposes. Last years team played well beyond its talent base and likely surprised Beane and Co. This year they got blue chip talent and upgraded talent at a bunch of different spots on defense

Caleb Downs isn't eligible. But yea, that defense didn't have much super star power other than Downs, but every single dude was solid, which is what made them so good, and the draft reflects that.

Certainly the Bills have a really high potential pass rush sub package, and Sanders is an electric athlete at his size so in terms of just straight talent so he’s worth grabbing on that basis.

I think there's like a 40% chance he makes the 54, but hoping he's willing to be on the practice squad. From what I saw of him, he's not better than either current form Dane Jackson or Ingram, and the Bills have a kid they drafted last season who played a ton of slot at college in Daequan Hardy, as well as Codrington who who provides emergency depth at corner while being the punt returner, plus you can pretty much guarentee Buffalo will draft at least one corner int he first 3 rounds
