  1. Get their guy? They have no idea if they can get their guy. They will either get the 2nd or 3rd QB in the draft, that may or may not be "their guy."
  2. True. But it's entirely possible they will be selecting their 3rd ranked QB on their board. We will never be privy to that because of course they'll say it's who they were targeting all along. Would you trade up to a spot, unsure of which QB you might be getting?
  3. Sorry I meant the Giants, I'm not convinced they are going to draft a QB. As for as the Bills, I've said already that the goal should be #2.
  4. Yup, I've said #2 should be the goal all along. It's the only way the Bills will know exactly who they are getting. Go to #3 and they may end up getting jumped by another QB team.
  5. Yea, I think they are still in win now mode. They may select a QB but I don't think it'll be at #2.
  6. The bold is the only thing to take away. Your speculation that Beane wouldn't match, is just that... speculation. What if Beane never wanted to get to 3? What if his ultimate goal is 2? Why would you move to 3 before the draft anyways? This could end up making the Jets look pretty stupid. They showed their hand. They have just said they are ok grabbing the 3rd best QB in the draft. Even if the Giants don't swap with the Bills or any other team, what if the Giants select a QB? For me, I've always said the goal should be the 2nd pick. The only way I'd be comfortable with the 3rd pick is on draft day after the Giants have selected and the Bills know they can get their guy.
  7. It is a mistake for the Jets. Even if the Giants stay put, what if they draft a QB? That men’s the Jets traded up for the 3rd best QB in the draft. They were forced to make this move. You make this move on draft day, when you know the guy you want is there. This is a trade up and you can’t even target anyone. Of course they’ll say player X was their choice all along.
  8. Just stop!
  9. This is all about the Colts not wanting to drop out of the top 10. They might still be able to get Chubb at 6. It will be telling to see what the Giants think.
  10. You don’t pay for the 3rd pick now, not knowing if you are going to get your guy. Let’s say Beane does move to 3, then the Jets trade to 2. How dumb does Beane look then? You do this trade on draft day, when you know for certain the guy you want is there at 3. The Jets have opened themselves to being jumped at 2.
  11. This is an odd trade to make before the draft has actually started. This is only works for the Jets if they really really like 3 QBs, otherwise they are settling for the 3rd QB off the board. I just can’t see them ranking 3 QBs equally.
  12. And he could come to this conclusion about the QB he wants and realize he's not falling out of the top 5. He's admitted he's not done evaluating the QBs, so it's all just kind of a throw away comment.
  13. I'm going to keep banging the table for Kendricks, I think the Eagles want to or are willing to move him.
  14. Now go trade for Mychal Kendricks...
  15. Right but rounds 4, 5 and 6 players are likely to not be Top 51, if they make the team at all. Sportrac has it projected with Top 51 & rookie pool at about $6M.
  16. Yea I don't think it'll be $5M either, but they have some of the details. I could be wrong but I thought Michael Ginnitti said on Murph yesterday that he thought when it's all said and done he believe's the Bills will have around $22M left.
  17. I can't imagine his cap hit is more than $5M, considering what he's signed for. Also, not sure if that is updated with Cogs new number. Still leaves more than $17M in cap space.
  18. Uh what? With all the new FA contracts on the books, including Lotulelei, the Bills have $26M left. Subtract around $5m for rookie contracts and the Bills have $21M left. That's a fair chunk of money. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  19. Every team has "major holes" and this comes up every year. You know where the most gapping, massive, dark black hole is? QB. And it's been like that for 20 years.
  20. I get the idea of moving up one more time to be in a better position to get into the top 5 but I think this is a bit of a trade happy idea. You don't trade away a piece and create another hole without being able to replace it. The Bills traded Glenn because they have Dawkins to replace him. The Bills traded away Taylor because they are going to draft his replacement with the first pick. Both the FA market and the draft are not rich with DE talent like Hughes. Also, a DE combo of Lawson and Murphy, who is coming of an ACL tear, is less than desirable and is going to scare no team. The Bills have no idea what they'll get from Murphy and we know Lawson doesn't give the Bills much in terms of QB pressure.
  21. Re-sign: Leonard Johnson, Deonte Thompson Sign: Justin Pugh Trade: 2019 3rd for Mychal Kendricks (think we will recover a 3rd from comp picks) Draft: Trade 12, 22, 56 and a 2019 4th for 3 Draft 3: Josh Rosen Draft 53: Darius Leonard Draft 65: Brian O'Neill Draft 96: Harrison Philips Not sure about the back end of the draft yet. With regards to Brown, I think he'll want too much money and I just don't think the Bills will like the number he wants for what he brings for the MLB position.
  22. No doubt it’s money but their production and future contracts are tied to who they have at QB and the offensive system. For WRs coming off their rookie deal, they’ll want to pick a team where they can maximize their money but then think for future contracts as well. Look what coming to Buffalo has do Jordan Matthews... it’ll be interesting to see what kind of deal he gets.
  23. So they went to the Jets/Browns... who have the most money to spend? Or they went to the teams that had money to spend AND a settled QB situation.
  24. I think they’ll take the route that the Bears are taking. Get the QB first, make sure he’s your guy, then surround him with talent. Plus, what WR/TE would want to come to a team with an unsettled QB situation? Look where the big FA WRs went.
