The thing with fines is, if they donate the money to charity the fine can be reduced by 50%. I'm not sure how much fines for players actually does.

Ummm, does everyone not know that Coughlin actually has a job with the NFL? He's Senior Advisor to Football Operations. He visits teams and has been visiting teams to improve the game overall. I highly doubt this has anything to do with in-season change or becoming a czar. Just probably part of his job.

The average NFL team runs about 70 plays a game, for reference. After reading some more about Roman, he seems like he's a big student of Bill Walsh. While he was in SF he ordered loads of SF offensive meeting film from when Walsh was there. He would spend hours and hours pouring over the film, apparently. And I think I remember watching something about Walsh who would ask his QBs to learn about 200 plays for a game.

I will say this about the quick "long scores", give me that over a long time-consuming drive that produces a FG. One has to wonder, what would have happened if the defense got off the field sooner on the first drive.
