Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick
Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But it depends on what McD/Beane think about FA value for a LB. i think they have made it clear they won't spend big in FA, and want to build through the draft. All I'm thinking is if Brown had a good year, and he knows it, they may think they don't want to pay that for a LB in FA, and would rather draft him. They didn't want to go after the other Brown. -

Oh I'm not saying it's completely impossible, that they aren't able to resign Brown. Just that they've said they would rather build through the draft and if Brown demands too much money, I think they have no problem using a high pick to replace him. And I do realize they priotize LBs, I'm just not sure how smart that is considering how much the value of LBs in the NFL has fallen. -

My only comment is that, while Ragland wasn't a fit for McDs scheme, he was the only LB signed past next year, unless you consider Alexander a LB. So that means drafting LBs and/or resigning Brown. And if Brown plays well this year, he might out price himself form a FO who's says they want to build through the draft. They won't be spending big in FA. This leads me to believe they'll be using a high pick, probably next year, in replacing a Linebacker/s. Idk, hard to see the plan, if trading players you spent high draft picks on, getting lower picks for them and the spending high draft picks to replace them. All for scheme fit or because they didn't draft them. -
"Think of Trent Edwards pre-concussion.." What an amazing endorsement. When will the pre/post-concussion Trent Edwards fallacy stop? The game immidiately following his concussion, after the bye, was one of his best as a Bill. It was better than any game he had in the season up to that point. Teams figured out Trent Edwards, the more he got on tape, it had nothing to do with his concussion. He couldn't stretch the field, and constantly checked down, even before the concussion. Teams just learned to take away the short stuff. If that's Nate Peterman, as the writer is implying, I have no desire to see any more of him.

I've seen it to. I watched the game again. He locks onto his first read and that's where he goes with the ball. It's the reason a lot of his balls were batted down as well. When he was throwing to the right, he locked on and the defensive lineman knew he was going that way. All this talk of him going through his progressions is hilarious, because I have yet to see him do it. The only time he came off his first receiver/read was when he almost threw an interception.

Cap wise could a Dareus/Osweiler trade be worked out?
Wayne Cubed replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...in 2019, he's as good as gone. Any trade before that is just not possible unless you want the Bills to absorb a $20M dead cap hit. -

I was just about to type that. -
Well when that decision turns out to be accurate I'd say it's pretty conclusive. They were correct about Tuel as much as a certain percentage of the fan base thought they were. But yea, coaching staffs and FOs get it wrong. I wouldn't go as far to say when they make a decision the opposite is true. I mean if that were the case then they'd be wrong about the Watkins trade, which as I recall you seemed to back.
-
No he didn't, and he only got his shot because of an injury, to Thad Lewis and then never got a shot again. Fans thought he deserved a shot, the coaching staff never thought that, which is why they brought in Thad Lewis instead of playing Tuel when Manual was hurt. If Tuel deserved a shot they would have played him. Seriously, do you not remember the situation?

It was not a weird example at all. People thought Tuel was a starter in this league based on his preseason play. There are threads on this board talking about how he should start. Guess what he is not even a decent QB. People are talking about Peterson as a starter, based on his preseason play. See the parallel? And, people who are "impressed" by Peterson must have been absolutely blown away by Tuels play seeing as he arguably looked better than Peterson, in preseason, as a rookie. But yea, weird example. Again, Jeff Tuel hasn't been in the league in 2 years, Manual still is and looks like he has solidified the backup job in Oakland. So yea, they were far off. Manual may have not been starter material but he is still far and away a much better QB than Jeff Tuel.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season week 3
Wayne Cubed replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really liked what I saw from Jerel Worthy. He was constantly the first guy out of his stance and was blowing up his guy. Made some nice plays too. Surprised he isn't seeing more rotation in withthe 1s, why they are going with Washington, I don't know. -
Umm what? Jeff Tuel wasn't any better than Manual and that was shown in his game when he actually started. So there is literally no argument to be made. Jeff Tuel is currently unemployed and hasn't played in the NFL in 2 seasons. Manual, as bad as you think he is, is still at least a backup QB and employed. Edit: and btw the whole concussion thing with Trent Edwards is a massive fallacy. He had on of his best game as a Buffalo Bill after the concussion against San Diego. It wasn't that Trent Edwards changed after the concussion, it was that teams figured him out.

This reminds me of 2013 and Jeff Tuel. He was a preseason all-star, and some thought he looked better than Manuel. People love the unknown.

2nd game in a row Jerel Worthy looks really good. He's quick off the line and blowing up OL. Not sure why they are putting Washington in instead of him with the 1s. -

This can't be the offense the Bills are running this season, can it? -

And so what? Jeff Tuel threw for 212 yards and 2 TDs in his first preseason game. -

I'm aware. Are we really that desperate for a QB that if a WR gets a PI call it's a positive? It was a questionable call anyways. For me, I didn't see him do anything Jeff Tuel didn't do in preseason. And Jeff Tuel threw for 212 yards and 2 scores in a preseason game. -

What? He didn't get a PI because he threw a nice ball. -

I mean he got a massive chunk of yards on a PI... he made a few nice throws. -
