    And, I still think they sold low. This reminds me of the Lynch trade, I'm sure they could have gotten more for him, if that was the plan.

    Yea but Beane isn't "throwing in the towel" for the season. Don't forget he just signed Anquain Boldin! He actually said that.

    He even admitted, in the Pc, that they weren't shopping him but the Rams had enquiries back in June. Things finally ramped up. So Beane honestly thinks the best value he could get from Sammy was a 2nd round pick?

    Exactly what I've thought and argued in the Watkins thread. The 5th year option makes him more valuable. Do the Pats give up a 1st if Cook doesn't have the 5th year option? I doubt it.

    How do you know that? Do you think the Patriots give up a 1st to the Saints if Cooks has had his his option year declined? That also doesn't even account for when this trade is happening... after teams have set rosters and spent money.

    According to Beane they weren't actively shopping him, so they weren't showcasing him at all. The Rams had been interested in Sammy going back to June, again according to Beane.

    Is it? These decisions, especially Darby, could have been made earlier. You probably could have traded Watkins before the 5th year option need to be decoded and got more for him.

    I meant to start the season really, there's no reason to resign Tyrod. Sign and trade him or whatever. I'm just not convinced there is a plan. That's because there isn't a plan.

    And why not just role with Yates and Peterman. Oh because you can't sell that to a fan base that's missed the playoffs for 17 freaking years.

    I mean fans are excited about the picks, that the Bills have a lot. But these are a freshman GM and HC with no track record. We don't have any idea what Beanes scouting ability is right. Having 2 first round picks can god wrong, just ask the Browns... who have blown 2 first round picks not once but twice.

    Well if I'm honest, I think they should have picked up his option or traded him before the decision expired. Have to think Watkins with 2 years on his deal is worth more than Watkins with 1. You get elite talent on the cheap for 2 years.

    Yea and where's the evidence that they know who to select with these picks.

    Idk, I think Sammy with another year on his contract is worth more. So if the plan was to trade him, show him off first, pick up the option. Sammy with 2 years on his contract had to be worth more than Sammy with 1.

    After season tickets have been renewed. After single games have been sold. After Sunday Ticket had been purchased. After promotion of Sammy on Bills marketing, selling him to fanbase, selling his jersey. It's a bull sh__ move at this point.

    I still think if that was the case, then you pick up the option or trade him before the option is due. The Bills could have got a lot more for Sammy if he had 2 years on a contract instead of one. Just look at the Cooks trade, traded before the deadline and the Pats picked up the option.

    And pick up the freakinf 5th year option as well. They would have got way more for Sammy if he had 2 years left on the deal. I'm sorry but this wasn't part of any plan.

    And? What is the problem with paying good/great players? There is no reason they can't pay Sammy, especially if the plan is to draft a QB. That's 5 years of not paying the top position in the league. I'm sorry I just don't follow.

    Along with DL, Kyle is definitley retiring next year, another CB.

    Not when it's guaranteed for injury. That's why you prove he can stay healthy this year and if he does, franchise or sign him.

    Yea I don't get why fans are saying that he was gone next year anyways... or you just franchise him. And if there is a young QB coming wouldn't Sammy help?

    And you think they can find a #1 receiver and another starting CB with those picks? Let's not also forget Kyle is most certainly retiring after this season. They have holes at LB. This team is now MASSIVELY talent deficient.
