  1. I saw what you wrote and you mischaracterized Edwards in your original post and what he was asked to do with the Bills. That's not an opinion but sure base your opinion on that.
  2. They were jailbreak plays because the defense took away his first quick read.
  3. Problem is, you won't know until a defense challenges him and takes away the short/quick throws. The 2 times I saw it happen, both against the Ravens, he almost threw an interception and he almost fumbled scrambling. Need to see more of what he's capable of doing in those situations.
  4. It's not an amateur take at all. They may end up being nothing alike but Trent Edwards came out of Stanford and was "known" for his quick release and decision making. His early success with the Bills was on a lot of short/quick routes, being quick to decide where to go with the ball and his quick release. He wasn't checking down in the beginning of his career. That sounds a lot like Peterman. And if you don't believe me go back and read what people had to say about Trent, there is plenty on this site and if you search via google. Or watch the games. He became Captain Checkdown after teams took away the short stuff and made him look for longer routes. He would get rattled and check down.
  5. Not only ignore their actually body of work, instead choose to look at preseason play instead.
  6. Yea I knew that and 70% the year prior. Luck was a very accurate QB in college, I watched a lot of him.
  7. @MockingTheDraft Browns picks in the 2018 NFL Draft 1. 1. (via Hou) 2. 2. (via Hou) 2. (via Phi) 3. 4. 4. (via Car) 5. 5. (via KC) 6. 6. (via Pitt) 7. Wow.
  8. By the time the Bills form a competitive team again, it could possibly be down just 2, seeing as they like to unload young talent they didn't draft.
  9. Um, you don't think the media members who attended those practices would have noticed Marcell being late? Or do you mean meetings? Even then, I'm sure he wouldn't have gotten on the plane in the first place.
  10. The traded away are the specific parameters because it rarely happens. The young coach and young gm coming in has happened, a lot in fact. And changing schemes. They just tent not to jettison young, good players. That puts a lot of presser on drafting.
  11. And? Evaluators do get wrong. The truth is Tuel looked good in preseason. Better than Peterman has, eye test and all. But it's preseason, and you can't hang your hat on that evaluation.
  12. To my eyes, there are more guys attached to their scheme. Rex was, McD seems to be. And even if you look around the NFL I think more coaches are stuck in their ways.
  13. Is that the eye test? I mean Tuel did throw for over 200 yards and 2 TDs in his first preseason game.
  14. I agree with you in the offensive side of the ball, for sure. I think that has more to do with Brady. With the defense he's much much more fluid and adaptable to the talent he has.
  15. That's exactly what I mean. He knew he had strength at LB, so he switch his "scheme" to maximize that and get more LBs on the field. A 3-4 system.
  16. Right, I realize that. That's not what the article is saying.
  17. A set scheme? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000381389/article/patriots-to-use-chandler-jones-at-linebacker-in-34 He realizes where his strengths are and adjusts.
  18. Oh I've seen the articles, it's speculation. It could very well be he was difficult to work with, like he was in Carolina. Kony Ealy was a SB wonder and then did nothing last year. Satan took a stab at him, cheaply, hoping he could regain what he saw in the SB. It didn't happen.
  19. Yup. It doesn't ever have to be a full blow up. Loads of teams have not bottomed out and still rebuilt. I've never seen a team dump young talent, like McBeane has.
  20. Yes thats true but he's not precious to his scheme. He gets value for his players. Really good value in fact and then adjust his scheme to what he has.
  21. Or he didn't think he's talented enough. The fact remains Satan has changed his scheme and will find a way to use talented players.
  22. The greatest coach in history, is constantly changing his defensive scheme to his players. He's used a 3-4, a 4-3, it doesn't matter for him.
