  1. The only reason why Saudi is an ally, is because they have sweet sweet oil that we love so much. If they didn't, we'd be "spreading democracy" there too, with drones and troops, like the rest of the middle east.
  2. To me I always look at a guy like Big Ben... he's not a world beater when it comes to running, but he's mobile enough to move around and get out of trouble, while strong enough to shake off certain tackles.... EJ has shown both, imo.
  3. I really hope we can make another move to shore up the OL, and I really hope whomever coaches them this year is a step up from Marrone and company. A solid OL will change things us dramatically. Imagine our RBs getting to the line of scrimmage without being hit. Imagine there being a hole or three to run through. Imagine the QB having time to go through his reads, instead of cowering if the first read is covered. I wonder if Dareus can block...
  4. When I talked to Jets fans I play basketball with, after the signing happened, they basically all said that he's a good coach, that was screwed over by a bad FO. They predicted he'll do well in Buffalo, and the Bills will instantly be better for hiring him.
  5. Fair enough. I'm in DC, and there hasn't been much about him around here, so I guess we only get the "bigger" Ravens news 40 minutes away
  6. Hm, there was practically no news/talk of Tyrod locally while he was on the team, and not even a blip when he left. Guess local media/fans here suck or something.
  7. So is Tyrod this year's Tuel?
  8. I love the suggestion of drafting a 2nd rd QB... starting or not. Starting, we go through the same process as EJ... throwing a guy into the fire too soon, then scrambling to bench him because he's not an immediate Pro-Bowler. Sitting, we develop this rookie, yet don't give our last rookie much of a chance to develop, that's fun too. ESPN is even floating the idea of us drafting a QB in the 2nd. I don't see it happening. We have three young guys on the roster right now that have every bit the same chance as developing as a 2nd round draft pick, imo. Lets focus on what we have, figure out if any of them can grow, and then potentially draft a QB in 2016.
  9. I'm not the OP, I just cleaned up his stats.
  10. Because that makes our QB look worse, not better. (but seriously, there's flaws with every QB metric out there, if you dig hard enough)
  11. To help you out a little bit, I reformatted and added EJ's career numbers: Name QB Rt QBP Var Russell Wilson 94.96 102.7 7.74 Jake Locker 70.95 75.87 4.92 EJ Manuel (Tot) 78.46 83.34 4.88 EJ Manuel (2014) 80.26 84.57 4.3 Blake Bortles 69.51 73.69 4.18 Cam Newton 82.13 86.07 3.93 Teddy Bridgewater 85.2 87.9 2.7 Andy Dalton 83.33 85.78 2.45 Michael Vick 68.34 70.03 1.69 Drew Stanton 78.66 80.29 1.63 Ryan Fitzpatrick 95.34 96.85 1.52 Colin Kaepernick 86.19 87.63 1.44 Geno Smith 77.53 78.79 1.27 Joe Flacco 90.87 92.12 1.26 Mike Glennon 83.3 84.36 1.06 Josh McCown 70.46 71.13 0.67 Ryan Tannehill 92.8 93.44 0.64 Alex Smith 94.26 94.49 0.23 Colt McCoy 96.39 96.5 0.11 Peyton Manning 101.52 101.52 0 Couple things to remember when going this route... running will have a bigger impact the lower the initial QB rating is, unless said runner is really poor, or turns the ball over a lot. If you're a good passer, you're less likely to run, just by glancing at the numbers (and you know, watching football). EJ definitely has athletic ability, but he's not a huge run threat, imo. Rather he has the ability to escape a collapsing pocket. Organized by QBP Name QB Rt QBP Var Russell Wilson 94.96 102.7 7.74 Peyton Manning 101.52 101.52 0 Ryan Fitzpatrick 95.34 96.85 1.52 Colt McCoy 96.39 96.5 0.11 Alex Smith 94.26 94.49 0.23 Ryan Tannehill 92.8 93.44 0.64 Joe Flacco 90.87 92.12 1.26 Teddy Bridgewater 85.2 87.9 2.7 Colin Kaepernick 86.19 87.63 1.44 Cam Newton 82.13 86.07 3.93 Andy Dalton 83.33 85.78 2.45 EJ Manuel (2014) 80.26 84.57 4.3 Mike Glennon 83.3 84.36 1.06 EJ Manuel (Tot) 78.46 83.34 4.88 Drew Stanton 78.66 80.29 1.63 Geno Smith 77.53 78.79 1.27 Jake Locker 70.95 75.87 4.92 Blake Bortles 69.51 73.69 4.18 Josh McCown 70.46 71.13 0.67 Michael Vick 68.34 70.03 1.69
  12. No change necessary imo... shouldn't be automatic, as it is possible to miss... and in order to up the stakes on the kick it'd have to be moved back a fair amount.
  13. "This is the year, no seriously, for reals! We mean it!"

  15. As usual, thanks for the write-up NS.
  16. You take that back.
  17. Seems to me that they have a good thing going, don't rock the boat I say.
  18. It's amazing for how disliked the guy is/was, that we got to 9-7. It'll be interesting to see the reactions after this season (if we do worse/same/better). Yes, I say this as not liking Marrone despite the fact that he got us to our first winning record since what.... 2004?
  19. Even if there's potential dead money, that's the risk you take in re-signing/extending a vet. How much longer do you think Mario stays productive as a starting DE? I'd give it about 5 years barring injury, myself. If he restructures to ease some cap room, in exchange for some more guaranteed money, I think it's a win for all sides assuming health and performance.
  20. Sadly I haven't even started. (First day back to work since vacation)
  21. 40 rushes 20 - McCoy, 10 - FredEx, 5 - Brown/Boobie, 3 - Harvin/Watkins, 2 - EJ 25 passes (targets) 6 - Watkins, 5 - Harvin, 5 - Clay, 4 - Woods, 5 - Screens to RBs
  22. Thanks for admitting that. Want a drink?
  23. Because it's fun to tweak you a bit.
