I believe their offensive playbook still refers to the forward pass as a "dangerous and untrustworthy new technology". -

The Bears have never had a good offense. I believe Sid Luckman still holds most of their passing records -

Dobbs is a great story -
I had no idea Carson Wentz turned down a starting job with the Panthers. That's an epic embarrassment https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/frank-reich-fired-by-panthers-but-carolinas-owner-david-tepper-remains-the-bigger-issue/

Tap the brakes here folks. I think what we need is a nice guy who won't make waves at One Bills Drive. This way we can continue the tradition of character building nine win seasons for another generation.

I think the Eagles are a great team and there is no shame in losing a close one to a great team. There was a lot that I liked aside from going toe to toe with the number one team in the NFL and an all-world performance by Josh. I thought Rousseau had some dynamite plays. In the past I have thought that our DL was too light and skinny but on several plays they ran Hurts down. This bodes well for facing running QBs. Our OL did a great job of giving Josh a long pocket. When we decided to run, we ran well, especially in the third quarter. It was exciting to see us finally play cold weather football well. But in the face of the rest of the season this feels like just another close loss. The unforgiveable shame was losing to the Patriots. Then we put up a lame effort against Cincy who we have seen much of and should know well by now. We apparently learned nothing from those losses and now the Bengals own us like a Bambino curse. Then we lose to a well coached but ordinarily talented Broncos team. Other than Miami, we have not beaten a quality opponent but have played down to the level of our worst opponents. We have not built a winning culture of accountability. Instead we play politics by firing coordinators while waiting for Josh and Diggs to bail us out until we get it right. Our defense has zero leadership or impact players that the opposition has to account for. The window is closing. We have grossly overestimated our talent and coasted while the rest of the conference got younger and faster. Still some part of me wants to believe we can run the table and back in to the post-season. With KC, Dallas and Miami looming I just don't see it. We haven't earned it. We haven't learned how to win games where we are clearly the better team. Watching us take the Eagles to the brink only reinforces what could have been and should have been had we built a better culture. It is especially painful knowing that we have a great QB in his prime with enough weapons to routinely score thirty points a game. No I don't want to fire everyone yesterday. We rotated a lot of coaches through during the decade of fail to no avail. We need to see the rest of the season play out before going all David Tepper and installing an AI program to coach human beings.

Tepper is just another rich idiot who thinks he knows everything. The die was cast when they over ruled Reich to take Young over Stroud. Reich should probably have quit right there. Young over Stroud is this generation's Manning - Leaf. Tepper will never field a winning team.

a FG was a Schottenheimer move

This team has been on autopilot since the AFC title game a few years back. We thought we were one player away. In reality, we never really mastered the psychology of winning close games as this year has shown us. We waited for Josh to bail us out and got spoilt while he usually did. Beane brought in an aging Von Miller and a platoon of over the hill running backs. We've gotten older and slower these last two seasons while the Jags, Ravens and Dolphins all got younger and faster. The window has all but closed. Maybe we can run the table but with the Chiefs and Cowboys ahead I'm not holding my breath. What's worse is I feel like we haven't earned our way into the playoffs. Other than Miami, we've beaten up on weaklings. Losing to Jacksonville was a sign. Losing to NE was unforgivable. The Bengals now own us psychologically, admit it. Losing to the Broncos was regrettable and avoidable. Beane and McDermott have done much good since being hired but enough with moral victories already. Until we climb the mountain, we're just the latest team to Schottenheimer our way out of contention.
