How didn’t the Bills get Trill Williams? Total fail. Much better than that Goosehead guy.
I am not an expert on these two - can you compare and contrast why Williams is because better?

This looks like a modern NFL draft. The priority is to pass the ball, protect the passer and rush the passer.
You also need to build cheap depth at expensive positions. Pass rusher and pass defenders get paid.
So the first 4 picks setup the team in the future. I would have liked a CB earlier but the value was not there. Beane made good moves that will pay dividends in the future.
There is no reason to believe the draft was a failure. Rating it low because the team did it differently than you thought is not a good reason. Pick a QB high or pick an injured player who will retire, that is a bad draft.

Slaton, Wilson, Tonga and Jones are all still there.
Draft 3 in the 6th and hope you hit on 1.

Nice job. A very interesting post round 1 read.

Beane just said in an interview they could have traded back. Two teams were really interested.
Ugh. Should have pulled the trigger.
Since you don't know what was offered, how do you know trading back was the best move?

Well, this makes sense for New England. I do think he may be a solid starter, but in no way will this push the needle forward far enough for the Pats to overcome Josh and the Bills. He will never be the QB Josh is.
Seems like Jones and Cam will run different types of offenses - will the Pats have an identity?

IF Pitts drops low enough Bills WILL trade up for him, thats my bet of the day!
How do I get some of this action?

I am in the CB/Edge camp but if WR/RB is the BPA, I trust Beane to make the best decision.
No one hits 100% so the misses will happen.

Is there a player out there, that the bills could trade there 1 for that could be available? Player under 27 yrs old, that could step in right away. Similar to what the Rams have been doing.
Any suggestions? These threads work better if you start with some ideas.

I get the feeling Roseman would prefer Ertz not going to Indy.
Why? The better the Colts do, the better draft pick.

The follow-up question is what is the total grade distribution. If you move back, are you getting a 3rd round talent in the 2nd? Getting a 2nd round talent in the 3rd? You need both pieces of info to make decision.

Is mahomes the guy who couldn’t beat out Davis Webb for a straight two years until he got injured?
Did the last 3 #1 overall picks at Qb transfer? Yes, by god they did. It’s almost like it’s common when big programs bring in 5 star qB recruits every year.
Do you think Kirby Smart do do do do doooooo should have stuck with noodle arm Fromm?
I think you were reading into this a bit much but looks like it hit a nerve.

Is Fields the guy who transferred because he could not beat out Fromm?

Evan Engram is also a possibility.
People complain about Knox dropping passes, Engram lost a game for the Giants last year with a drop. Pass.

Now we need some Pro Bowl Caliber edge rushers.
I agree. What do you propose?

Where does he have our 2nd round pick in this mock (Tyler Shelvin) ranked?
#199. Hits him hard for needing constant watching to work and stay in shape.
Ossai was #47. Says he projects as 3-4 edge.

Gil Brandt on NFL radio today said a 4th round pick this year would have been a 6th round last year. So yes, a weak class.
That said, there are always diamonds to be found. Beane earns his pay in a weak year, not as much in a strong year.

This draft would be disappointing for the Bills.

With the 49th pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri.
The Bengals need to get better on D. With DTs coming back from injury, LB was a clear need. Bolton is a 2 time all SEC LB who can grow into playing all 3 downs. He plays with an attitude and he plays fast. He is not afraid of contact but needs to shed blockers better.
With the first 2 rounds (3rd round pick traded to move back into 1st) the Bengals have added:
Christian Darrisaw, OT
Kadarius Toney, WR
Jayson Oweh, Edge
Nick Bolton, LB
While still a few years from contending in a tough division, these player will improve Cincinnati as a team overall.
The Bucs @BigdaddyinOrlandoare on the clock.
Thanks for organizing and executing @Virgil and @whatdrought.
