  1. The Bengals didn't draft an elite WR and a Pro Bowl QB. They drafted a college receiver and a QB with question marks. I married a good looking girl with smarts, financial savvy, and a good head on her shoulders. It didn't work out. Sometimes you miss on a pick, dude. Sometimes the other guy's pick works out great. Learn to be at peace with it.
  2. Yep, agree with other posters: D was solid all night. Slipped toward the end, and too many penalties, but a strong performance and made plays at the end of the game to seal the win.
  3. Joe-the-Sixpack, Spiller's rushing was far from pedestrian. He was averaging 5 yards a carry until the 4th quarter. His average ypc decreased after some clock-eating runs, but prior to that he was ripping off 5-, 7-, and 10-yard runs. He was dynamic all night long. I liked the offensive and defensive performances. The play calling, as always, was flat out stupid at times. 3rd and a short 1 inside Miami's 30 and you throw from an empty backfield? C'mon, Chan, put your thinking cap on!
  4. I was in lot 3 last night. I agree...it was embarrassing. The trash was an absolute disgusting representation of what Bills fan are. The hostility was a disgrace, too. There was a fistfight right in front of us that crashed into our truck. The Miami fan was the belligerent one, but the Bills fans were barely better. I'm glad I didn't have my young son with me. Although, even at 5 years old, he's mature enough to know that's not the way you should behave. In other news, glad the Bills hung on. They dominated the game, but trouble finishing was frustrating.
  5. Buffalo is installing the "Flickering Lights D": Lights Out, Lights On, Lights Out, Lights On.
  6. The *Pats offense isn't as good as it was last year. The *Pats defense, which was awful last year, isn't as improved as you'd think. The Bills beat them after being on a HUGE hole in the first game last year, then jumped out to a 21 point lead in the second game before benching our #1 receiver. The Bills o-line is much improved, our d-line is mind-blowingly better, and our DBs are finally done playing 10 yards off. I think we can run with 'em.
  7. Wow...this thread has blown up almost as much as the Mario Williams signing thread. Okay, not quite. But still. We're talking about a punter. Brian Moorman is a 100% class act. I wish him all the best. This was the right move from a football perspective, and I think the locker room will be fine because the team treated him with dignity and respect. He got lots of praise in the press event and on the Bills' official channels. He'll have a solid chance to land a job elsewhere, so that'll help the locker room vibe, too. Players understand it's about making the team better.
  8. The Golden Rule sounds like a winner, but on behalf of GB fans (I have ties to Seattle), how 'bout the Seattle Seahoax?
  9. The desire for more blitzes comes from A) People who get a warm, happy feeling from seeing seven guys collapse a five-man offensive line, and B) People who play too much Madden.
  10. Five-seven-five is Too much for a Bills-Brown game. More like six to three.
  11. I like it. And I agree with bills1960 about this being the first decent nickname to emerge from the way-too-many nickname threads. My only question: Why just Cordy Glenn? Can't this be the much-sought-after nickname for our O-Line? The Snow Plows...it's perfect. Now all I can think of is this scene from Independence Day...
  12. I don't think it has to be a violent thing. But I wouldn't be surprised if Dareus plays like a man on a mission. I agree with Big Papi: I'm not sure I'd want to be lined up across from Dareus this week. All that energy channeled in one direction? He could be destructive in the KC backfield on Sunday.
  13. Maybe we're approaching this whole McKelvin thing wrong. It's like he thinks "My job is to stay close to this WR. Oh, and by the way, there's a ball coming." Maybe we need him to think about the ball first and the receiver second. "My job is to go knock that ball out of the sky. Oh, and by the way, there's another guy trying to catch it." Or maybe he'd be better at catching balls if that was actually his job. Make him a WR. I mean...yeah, he seems to have awful ball skills as a CB, but if we told him his job was to run routes, shake defenders and catch passes, do you think he could do it? He's got speed, he knows how routes work...maybe we're asking him to do the wrong job. When George Wilson was #6 or #7 receiver on the depth chart and switched to safety, I figured it was a desperate move by a guy who really wanted to make the team. I assumed he'd fail. Now he's regarded as a quality starter at the position. Who knows, maybe McKelvin is a square peg in a round hole.
  14. Sisyphean: Reminding those who frequent TSW about the rules regarding gameday threads.
  15. I'm using it in a browser on my laptop, with an HDMI cable sending the signal to my TV. Looks great!
  16. I can confirm the PS3 package is available. Spoke with DirecTV today and they offered it as an option. The $250 is fine for me, since I just feed it to my TV via HDMI. I get every game -- same as regular Sunday Ticket -- plus access via iPad and iPhone. I'll still go to the bar sometimes, but this gives me te option to watch at home, too.
  17. I know this has been discussed in another thread, but wanted to give it a fresh thread so nobody missed the info. To get the Sunday Ticket ONLINE ONLY, go to http://www.directv.c...yticketspecial. I signed up today for $250. Hope this helps!
  18. 27-10, Buffalo. The Bills preseason anemic offense finds its rhythm after the Bills relentless front four victimize the Jets floundering offense to create turnovers, 3-and-outs, and good field position.
  19. Ralph is cheap?
  20. *Yawwwwwn...* Icanhazregularseezonnow?
  21. Bring back Mike Jasper as a safety.
  22. Nobody is going to fine anybody. NBC has broadcast rights for NFL games. They're not gonna nickel and dime the NFL, one of their most lucrative content providers, over a goodwill act.
  23. I work in Internet marketing. I'm on my phone now, so it's a pain in the neck to look into it more closely, but the ad is likely either A) a Google AdWords Content Network ad, which are displayed all over the web and can be targeted based on the words appearing on the page the ad displays on (and the words "NY Jets" definitely appear on this site), or B) a "remarketing ad," which the Jets would buy and is displayed (based on cookies placed on your computer) to someone who has visited the Jets website (which you could have done while researching our foes). It's actually smart marketing by the Jets. Bills fans go to Jets games, too, after all...twice a year.
  24. Get my hair DID. The kids these days say "Get my hair DID." #themoreyouknow
