Lynch arrives in Buffalo- Per PFT

I agree, I'd rather have more points than yards. I was just pointing out the facts between the two. -

I have integrity and I keep my word. I've been a fan of the Bills for over 25 years and love this team. If the Bills draft anywhere from 1-10, then you win the bet. If they draft anywhere from 11-32, then I win the bet...fair enough? If I lose, then you send me a personal message with your address and I will send you a money order for $100. If I win, you do the same, no checks! How do I know if you'll keep your word? -

C.Biscuit bet you $100 that the Bills won't finish last. I'll bet you $100 the Bills won't draft in the Top 10 next year, are you in or are you gonna cry some more? -

Thanks!! -
Well if you didn't prepare for the Ice Age, then Doom On You!!!

I remember when Mike Mularkey was HC, the Bills were playing the Jets and Losman hit Parrish on a Slant. Parrish ran right up the middle on darted past the Jets secondary for a 50+ yard TD. I never understood why they didn't throw more slants to Roscoe.

Looks like this thread has turned into a Fred/Marshawn debate. Here's the rushing stats from 2008 & 2009: Marshawn Lynch: 2009: 120 carries, 450 yards and 2 TDs 2008: 250 carries, 1036 yards and 8 TDs Fred Jackson: 2009: 237 carries, 1062 yards and 2 TDs 2008: 130 carries, 571 yards and 3 TD's Lynch's total: 370 carries, 1486 yards and 10 TDs Jackson's total: 367 carries, 1633 yards and 5 TDs Jackson had 3 less carries and out gained Lynch by 147 yards Lynch had 5 more TDs than Jackson Bottom line, Jackson is better between the 20's but Lynch is the better red zone RB. -

And Freddy only has 5 rushing TD's in the last 2 seasons. While Jackson is better between the twenties, Lynch is the better red zone threat. But Marshawn "Because I got high" Lynch is also one problem away from a year suspension. It doesn't look good on his part to show up this late, especially since he's starting off with a clean slate with a new coaching staff. If Lynch really wants to reclaim his starting RB role, he should have showed up with everyone else. Speaking of everyone else, I'd wish Schobel would give an answer already. He should be here as well if he intends on playing. Transitioning from DE to OLB takes time and if he does plan on playing, he will be behind the other LB's. -

Ugh, yes, the Bills were a complete cluster f@ck last season and it's amazing they didn't finish around 2-14. I agree that there is a lot of talent on the team, but the Bills didn't have the right coaches training these guys and creating good game plans. If the Bills had a competent coaching staff in here over the last 4 years, they could have been in the playoffs at least 3 out of the last 4 years. So far, I like what Gailey & his staff are doing and feel the Bills are headed in the right direction. -

Guess you're fascinated with the number 13. Spiller was picked at #9, not #13. Besides that, the Bills don't have a home-run hitter at RB. Fred Jackson had 5 rushing TD's over the last 2 years. Lynch is one problem away from being suspended for a year. I have no problem with the Spiller pick. The offense ranked 30th last season, the Bills needed more weapons on offense. There's no way the Bills pick in the Top 10 in the draft next year. The Bills went 7-9 (3 times) and 6-10 last year with a Secondary coach who was clueless how to run an NFL team. Gailey has taken less-than-stellar QB's and turned them into serviceable QB's. I don't think anyone would consider Fielder, Tomczak, Stewart, or Thigpen great QB's. The Bills will surprise a lot of teams and people this year. I'm still going with my prediction of 11-5, the worst I think the Bills will do is 9-7. Go Bills!!! -
6th round pick Danny Batten
mike oxhurtz replied to mike oxhurtz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills defense, along with transitioning players will go through some growing pains this season. I really hope Maybin doesn't turn out to be a bust though, considering he was our top draft pick last season. -

If Maybin turns out to be a bust, that would rank just below Mike Williams...OUCH!!! I wonder how much time will the new staff give Maybin? Until the end of the year or maybe next year? That would be a huge waste of a top draft pick. -

I hope so as well. With Batten playing in the 3-4 in college, it sounds like he would have an easier transition than the other Bills LB's that were on the roster last year. Glad to hear he's making some plays in the OTA's so far. -

Defensive scheme more complex

And Dick Jauron was our coach the last 3 years as well. -

You forgot to mention Dick Jauron was the coach last year. -
MIA @ BUF W BUF @ GB L BUF @ NE L NYJ @ BUF W JAC @ BUF W BUF @ BAL L BUF @ KC W CHI @ BUF W DET @ BUF W BUF @ CIN W PIT @ BUF W BUF @ MIN L CLE @ BUF W BUF @ MIA W NE @ BUF W BUF @ NYJ L I predict 5-3 in the first 8 games and finish 11-5 for the year and a wild card berth. The Jets will win the AFC East. Go Bills!!

The Bills were soft during Jauron's time. The Bills were never prepared to start the season and lead the league 2 out of 3 years in injuries. Last year, The Dick had 12 days of OTA and 3 mini-camp days, this year Gailey has 15 OTA days and 6 mini-camp days. It's nice to see Cooter working these guys instead of trying to be their BFF.
-
I agree as well, it was so painfully obvious what the Bills were doing on offense. It seemed like they had 2 looks (3 WR, 2 TE, 1 RB or 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB). I also agree that Edwards will be the starter. I think Gailey & Nix are leaning a little towards Brohm right now, but I think Edwards will have a good pre-season and win the job then.

Trent Edwards calls Jim Kelly Naive
mike oxhurtz replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Jimbo is tired of seeing the Bills pick California QB's. Rob "I fallen and can't get up" Johnson, J.P. "The Space Cadet" Losman and Jimmy's new favorite "Capt. Checkdown" Trent Edwards. None have worked out and Jim isn't giving his vote of confidence anymore to Edwards. It was a dumb comment to say on Jim's part. -

Let the Doom & Gloom reign
mike oxhurtz replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jerry, I also look at it as like a long-term marriage with the Bills. One moment, the husband says "I can't stand the B word", but he doesn't leave. But when things are going good, husband & wife are all lubby dubby. I'm sure a lot of long-term fans that are sick of losing would like to divorce from the Bills, but they won't, they'll just go on complaining but still follow the team.
