  1. IMO, Jackson is a better elusive running back, while Lynch is the better power back. In between the 20's, give it to Jackson more. In the red zone, give it to Lynch.
  2. Why? If the Dolphins can go from 1-15 to 11-5 in one year, then why can't the Bills jump from 6-10 to 11-5? With the Bills going 7-9 three years in a row and 6-10 with Dick Jauron & Co, the Bills have nowhere to go but up. Here are 5 reasons why the Bills will be better in 2010 than the previous 4 years: 1. One of the worst coaching staffs in Bills history is no longer in charge. Jauron didn't play to win, he played not to lose. We all remember his famous quote: "It's hard to win in the NFL". Everytime the Bills won the toss, he deferred to the 2nd quarter. How many times did we see Jauron challenge the wrong call and not challenge the call that could have been overturned? How many games every season over the last 4 years were lost due to bad coaching decisions...at least 10 (my count is 14). Plus, Jauron didn't always play the better player. It took injuries to get Fred Jackson, Jabari Greer & Jairus Byrd into the starting line-up, when it was clear in training camp & the preseason that these guys were better than the vets that Jauron wanted to play. 2. The new 3-4 defense. Gone is the horrible, bend-don't-break Tampa 2 defense. Our DE's ranged from the 240's to the 260's last season, this year they range from 285 to 310. Plus, we have a 320 NT in the middle. Another change, no more tweener safeties as LB. Our LB's went from the 220's to 250 (Mitchell) to an average of 240-260's. What does bigger players on defense mean...more tackles. Last year, our run defense ranked #30 giving up 156.3 yards per game. The Bills let 4 teams rush for over 200 yards against them, including a 300 game vs the Jets. The run defense will be much improved to go along with the #2 ranked pass defense. 3. Injuries. Nix & Gailey hired 2 strength & conditioning coordinators, one for the linemen, the other for WR's & DB's. In the first OTA, Bills players came in and saw all 12 TV's were gone and the players were expected to come in and work. With the players being more physically prepared to start the season, there will be less injuries on the team. 4. Hiring an offensive minded coach (Gailey) that has experience. Now a lot of fans don't like the choice, because Gailey was canned before the start of the season in KC, but realisticly, look at the talent level on KC. The previous Bills OC's (Fairchild, Schonert & Van Pelt) didn't have much experience or any experience at all as an OC. Plus, Jauron wanted a dulled down, pop-warner type offense. Gailey plans to tailor his offense to the strengths of his players. Gailey also plans to put bigger WR's on the outside, to outleap and outmuscle DB's. Jauron & co had 5'10" Evans & 5'9" Parrish constantly lined up on the outside, which is part of the reason why both were WR's were ineffective. Both Parrish & Evans would work better in the slot or the inside. 5. C.J. Spiller. Spiller can be used in so many ways: Kick Return, Punt Return, RB, WR. If the O-line struggles again, Spiller can be a good relief valve to whoever the QB is by throwing a screen or dump off pass.
  3. Almost every team in the offseason looks better on paper, too bad the game is played on grass.
  4. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?...ason+prediction I'm still standing by my 11-5 prediction. Here's what I predicted in April, but with added comments: MIA @ BUF W BUF @ GB L BUF @ NE L NYJ @ BUF W JAC @ BUF W BUF @ BAL L BUF @ KC W CHI @ BUF W DET @ BUF W BUF @ CIN W PIT @ BUF W (could go either way, but I think the Bills will be fired up after the "They still have team up there" comment by an anonymous Pittsburgh player) BUF @ MIN L (If Favre doesn't play, I'd say Bills win. Tavaris Jackson sucks and Sage Rosenfels is a decent backup, but nothing more). CLE @ BUF W BUF @ MIA W NE @ BUF W BUF @ NYJ L I predict 11-5 for the year and a wild card berth. The Jets will win the AFC East.
  5. I grew up Catholic and now view the Catholic religion as a cult. I had a girlfriend back in the early 90's that was a baptist, but IMO, Baptist are worse than used car salesmen when it comes to christianity. I do believe that something created us and there is evidence that the universe was created 14.8 billion years ago, so that's my extent to a belief in a higher power. If believing in something gives you strength and makes you feel better, then that great and I will not mock anyone for that. I just don't like how Kelly is going about this, he's trying to sell books and make money.
  6. My brother was murdered by his wife, then she killed herself, while their 3 year old daughter was in the next room. So where was Jesus that day? Taking a day off? Bottom line there is no God and Devil. There is no God that makes you do good and a devil that makes you do bad. There have been more people killed in human history over religion. Look at the 9/11 attacks, the actual attackers believed they were doing God's work. Killing innocent people for God? Sorry, but the years of blind faith with me have been long gone.
  7. There are many things in life that can change people. Whether it's a simple phrase, words from someone, a good book, people can get inspiration from many things. This is also why people go to those in the self-help industry like Tony Robbins. Don't get me wrong, I think there are a lot of good ideas and concepts in the bible on how you should live your life and treat others, but I just don't believe in the story of the bible anymore, Jesus or anything else of any organized religion. For years, many believed there were gods on Mt. Olympus, but Socrates decided to look for himself and saw there was nothing on top of Mt. Olympus. When Socrates told people what he saw, no one believed him and was ultimately condemned to death.
  8. I've take it no one in your family was ever murdered? Once something like that happens, it completely changes your perspective on everything in life.
  9. Reports indicate that Brett Favre will NOT return to the Minnesota Vikings this year. Per Judd Zulgad and Jay Glazer.
  10. I'm saying the Jesus & the whole bible is fictitious. IMO, it's just been stories that have been passed on from generation from generation.
  11. It's just another case of a person that feels like he's screwed his life up so bad, that only believing in an fictious person is going to change him This is a big reason why kids should not look up to sports athlete's as role models. Granted, Kelly was a great QB, but was also a womanizer and a ****ty husband. The only reason Kelly is putting this out there is to sell books.
  12. The only other reports I have to go on Danny Batten are the one's from the OTA's, where other Bills players remarked at his play making ability. Now, I don't like to see anyone get hurt. The only things Kelsay has done during his time in Buffalo is Jack and Schitt.
  13. Thanks for the update. Who's the girl in the avatar?
  14. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/07/29/kelsay-exits-early Maybe this will clear the way for Batten to step in.
  15. LMAO!!! Did he have hemmroids bad?
  16. If Schobel does come back, it doesn't mean he'll get another 10 sacks this season. With transitioning from DE to OLB, plus not showing up at all for the OTA's, mini-camps and part of training camp, do you really think Schobel is going to be an effective ROLB like he was at RDE? Do you really think he's going to learn not only the new position, but the new defense that quickly before the start of the season?
  17. First, he said he needed a couple of months, then that time past. In June, he clearly stated that the Bills can move on without him and he doesn't plan on coming back. If the Bills needed him, they could call on him, but otherwise he was planning on hanging it up. Now, he's saying 70/30? The guy is pulling a Brett Favre, so I'd agree with the diva comment. It's clear he's vying for a trade and trying to avoid as much of training camp as possible.
  18. The article sums it up. Let's hope we have a hidden gem at LT on the roster.

  20. Wrong decision, wrong time. If the Bills owner/management/coaches or whoever thought that Rob Johnson would have made a difference on offense, then that decision should have been made by mid-season at the very latest. Switching QB's that late in the season caused a ton of problems on offense in the Titans game. There were numerous false start penalties, the chemistry was off and it took Johnson 58 minutes into the game to finally play good.
  21. You need to re-read other posts on here where I've said that the defense was the main reason why the Bills won. Flutie did not light up defenses like Kelly did, but then again, Kelly never had the defenses like Flutie & Johnson did. Most likely, if you have a superbowl caliber defense, then that means you're most likely to have a sub-par/mediocre offense. The 98-00 Bills are a good example that. The 2000 Ravens are another great example. The 1985 Bears were another example. Jim McMahon was a decent QB, but not great. Walter Payton was the Bears biggest and best offensive weapon. So, with great defenses like the one's I mentioned, sometimes all you need is just a competent QB to manage the game and win. Whether you win by 1 point or 50 points, the result is still the same. As long as the team has a winning record, who cares what the score is. Do you think the Giants cared what the final score was when they beat the Bills in SBXXV by 1 point...HELL NO!!!
  22. So you mean to tell me that the one guy on the team who touches the ball on every single offensive snap has nothing to do with the outcome of the game?
