  1. All you've done is whine and complain and have shown nothing factual. Between Jerry, Adam & I, we've come up with stats and numerous articles proving our points. All you have done is make waterbug & sleep comments and complain about the QB & LT situation. So, basically you're saying if the O-line & QB's couldn't succeed under Jauron & Co, they can't succeed under anyone? So you saying Jauron & his offensive coordinators were amongst the best in the league? really?
  2. I guess the Saints defense didn't need to be good to not only make it to the Superbowl, but also to stop one of the best QB's in leagues history? Here's one guy that think the Bills did a great job during the draft. Seems like this guy had actual knowledge of the players he was talking about. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/04/24/c...es-bills-draft/ It's obvious your blind and haven't been paying attention to what's been going on. The bills hired two new strength & conditioning coaches and have changed the sports bar atmosphere at One Bills Drive. But since you like to keep claiming Nix is asleep, along with the waterbugs, here's the article and you can see for yourself: http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/03/30/1004...-weightier.html So keep up the doom & gloom, you're doing a great job at it
  3. Guess you're fascinated with the waterbug statement. Nix said he wanted big physical linemen, which is why SD had a winning record over Indy, which was due to winning in the trenches. Nix & Gailey said they wanted a RB that was quick as a waterbug, but you're taking that as they wanted a whole offense full of waterbugs, good for you. Spiller, LT connection? Nix took part in drafting LT in 2001? That's right, just because players are from tiny schools automatically means they will be no good in the NFL right? Didn't address our needs at all? I guess NT and LB's were needs...at all? Depth on the O-line was not a need...at all? If I didn't think the Bills were going in the right direction, I wouldn't have this much optimism for the team. Last year, only 1/3 of our defense was good, the pass defense. With changing to the 3-4 and getting bigger bodies, that will make our run defense (which ranked 30th) much better. IMO, the Bills defense will be the strong point of the team. The offense ranked 30th last season under Jauron. IMO, getting an offensive minded coach is exactly what the Bills needed. I've been through the growing pains of the 80's under Stephenson & Bullough, did anyone back then think assistant GM Bill Polian and Chiefs reject Marv Levy could turn this franchise around? I don't think so.
  4. Levy & Jauron wanted Derrell Revis, but Ralph wanted Lynch.
  5. Hey Jerry, I guess this muggins guy was expecting the Bills to fill all the holes in one season. Cornhole Green is a stop gap until a RT can be drafted in a year or two. This year's draft class for QB's was garbage, but the Bills were suppose to take one and be stuck again for the next 3-4 years until that guy washed out just to appease fans and the national media Next year's draft class is much deeper for QB's and considering who Nix helped draft in SD (Brees, E.Manning/Rivers) I'd say Nix knows what to look for in a QB. Also, if the 2 guys Nix wanted at LT were already gone, why reach for someone (like Bulaga) who is a RT and try to put him in at LT? The Bills tried that with Langston Walker and that experiment failed miserably.
  6. LMAO!!! http://www.nfl.com/players/ladainiantomlin...le?id=TOM683150 Every year, LT had 10 TD's or more including an NFL record 31 TD's (28 rushing, 3 receiving).
  7. Let's look at the Bills 2 starting RB's: Lynch, is one problem away from being suspended for a whole season. While Lynch is a bruising RB that keeps his feet moving upon initial contact and is a good red zone threat, he has a poor field of vision which is evident by Lynch constantly running into the back of his linemen. His biggest problem already stated, has been his run-ins with the law, one more time and he will be likely suspended anywhere from 8-16 games by Roger Goodell. Jackson, a feel good story here, a Division III guy that busted his butt to make it to the NFL. Jackson is very good in open field (between the 20's) and is a very good receiving option. Downsides, he's 29 and he's not a good red zone threat. In 2008 he had 3 rushing TD's, in 2009 he had 2 rushing TD's and 2 receiving TD's. With the comparsions of Spiller to Chris Johnson already, I think it was a great move to get Spiller now. Jackson will not be around in 5 years (due to age) and I expect Lynch to be out of here as well. I'm not saying Spiller is going to have the same production as Johnson, but if he comes close, that will be much more production than the Bills could get from Lynch & Jackson.
  8. Yes it sucks that the Bills have been badly mismanaged over the last 10 years and have not made the playoffs during that period. But if your not a fan of the team, or are mad at the team and think they're gonna suck, then why even bother posting on here? Either go find another team to cheer for or just be a bandwagon fan and come back when the team is doing better. The Bills are rebuilding through the draft and the rebuilding process will take 2-3 years. Would you people rather have a team that is going to be a long-term competitor or one that might have a 1-2 year window of getting the job done? Would you rather see our good draft picks resigned or lose them to FA because we brought in high priced FA's and can't afford our own talent? That's the direction the Bills are going, either take it or leave.
  9. Buffalo is a drinking town with a football problem, but some people need to quit drinking.
  10. I agree, but you're talking to a lot of negative nancy's out there. These are the same people that would complain even if the Bills won a superbowl: "Yeah the Bills won the superbowl, but..."
  11. Actually fans are writing the articles on realfootball365, and one fan had a good article about Nix's tenure with the Chargers. When Nix, A.J. Smith & John Butler went to SD, the Chargers were 1-15 the year before with Ryan Leaf & Jim Harbaugh as their starting QBs. The article listed the progression of the Chargers over a 5 year period. That was my only point by referencing RF365. If you hate the Bills & think they're gonna suck, then why do you even bother posting on here? Didn't you proclaim to be a Redskins fan now? Why don't you jump on the Redskins bandwagon and stay on their site you troll.
  12. I see the Spiller pick as a safety valve for when the QB's get pressured. If the QB is getting constantly blitzed/pressured, then the QB can throw a short pass, dump off or screen to Spiller. Gailey picked up Easily & another UDFA WR mainly for their blocking skills, so I can see the Bills really emphasizing on the run game this year.
  13. I understand Nix's reasons for giving the players on Offense a chance this year considering all the turmoil & mismanagement the offense went through last season (firings 10 days before the start of the season, etc...). IMO, the players on offense from last year (O-line, QB's & WR's) will have this year to show Nix & Gailey what they've got, and if they continue to struggle then they will be gone at the end of the season. I like that Nix beefed up the defense and added some depth to the O-line, but the big questions remain at LT & QB. This year will be an evaluation period for a lot of players on this team.
  14. Lv Nancy, here's an article of what Nix took part in rebuilding: http://www.realfootball365.com/articles/bills/14820 Nix wasn't the GM in SD, but was the top scout & assistant GM. And how about Bill Polian before he became the Bills GM? Wasn't Bill the assistant GM here in Buffalo under Kay Stephenson & Hank Bullough? The only think stupid around here is negative nancy's like yourself that continue to trash this team. I could understand the resentment if Jauron was still HC, but he's not. It's obvious morons like you don't understand how to build up a winning football team. First you start with building both sides of the line, then expand out from there. You need big, physical lines in cold weather cities (like Buffalo). The rebuilding process is going to take 2-3 years, but clowns like you want to hear that. With the QB's, how do you know Edwards or Brohm can't be turned around? Look at how long it took Drew Brees to become a stellar QB...about 4 years. Brees had 31 games where he threw for under 200 yards, including 6 games where he threw for under 100 yards. Nevermind that the Bills had one of the worst coaching regimes in Bills history running the team for 4 years.
  15. All good points. Signing Rob Johnson (a one-hit wonder) was one of the worst mistakes the Bills have ever made. The first being Ralph firing Bill Polian.
  16. With all the money Snyder dumped into players, anyone would figure the Skins would have had the greatest championship teams in the history of the NFL. While no one can knock Snyder for being cheap, everyone can knock the guy for overpaying the wrong players.
  17. I agree, Jauron was terrible and ran the Bills like every player was his BFF. Sorry, the Tampa 2 works in Tampa, warm weather climates and domes, not cold weather cities like Buffalo. I like the the D-line got beefed up, from having 240 to 265lbs DE's to 285 to 310 DE's. The DT's went from 286 - 310 to 305 - 330lbs. You're right, the Bills run D couldn't stop a RB, unless the RB ran right at them or fell down, now with having bigger linemen, our run D will improve.
  18. Umm...Dick Jauron, playing not to lose, it's hard to win in the NFL, deferring kicks, the bend-don't break Tampa 2 defense, 10+ players every year on IR.
  19. In a previous post, I said 11-5, but I'll break down every game: 09/12 MIAMI DOLPHINS - W - People forget that the Bills beat the Phins 31-14 last season. IMO, the Phins don't have a good QB. 09/19 @ Green Bay Packers - L 09/26 @ New England Patriots - L - game could go either way 10/03 NEW YORK JETS 1:00 pm - L - if it's bad weather, the Bills could win since Sanchez is a warm weather QB 10/10 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS W 10/17 BYE 10/24 @ Baltimore Ravens L 10/31 @ Kansas City Chiefs W 11/07 CHICAGO BEARS (Toronto) W - game could go either way 11/14 DETROIT LIONS W 11/21 @ Cincinnati Bengals W - game could go either way, the Bills have had the Bengals number for years now, plus the Bengals did not look good the last few games of the year last year 11/28 PITTSBURGH STEELERS W - game could go either way, but with all the problems the Steelers had in the offseason with Rapelisberger, trading Santonio Holmes & losing Limas Sweed for the season, I think the Bills win this one 12/05 @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00 pm W if Favre doesn't play, L is Favre plays 12/12 CLEVELAND BROWNS 1:00 pm W 12/19 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm L - game could go either way, but at least it's not blazing hot down in South Florida like it is in September 12/26 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS W game could go either way 01/02 @ New York Jets W - Sanchez is a California QB that struggled in the bad NJ weather last year when the Bills beat the Jets I'm hoping for 11-5, but realisticly I can see the Bills finishing 9-7 and getting a wild card berth.
  20. I look at the defense in 3 phases, pass rush, run defense and pass defense. Last year, only the pass defense was good, which ranked at #2 allowing 184.2 ypg. The overall defense ranked at #19 due to the #30 ranked run defense, which gave up 156.3 ypg, which included 3 teams rushing over 200 yards against us and one (Jets) rushed for over 300 yards against us. With bigger bodies on defense, the run defense has nowhere to go but up. With switching to the 3-4, the DB's go from playing zone coverage (in the Tampon 2) to man coverage, so there could be some drop off in pass defense, but I don't see a drastic change. The big questions on defense will be how effective of a pass rush can the defense create and how will our OLB's perform. Overall, I can see the defense ranking in the top 15 by the end of the season. Last year, our offense was a disaster and finished at #30. With the firings of Schonert & Walker 10 days before the start of the season, Van Pelt thrown to the fire as OC 10 days before the season, 20 players on IR, the revolving door at QB, the HC gets canned midway through the season, it's amazing that the Bills finished at 6-10, instead of 2-14 or worse. IMO, the Bills have nowhere to go but up. Gailey & his staff plan to build around their players strengths, instead of trying to "pigeon hole" them into a system (borrowed that from Chris Brown), which was something the Dick & co didn't do.
  21. I agree. Nix beefed up the D-line and is doing away with the smaller, faster, finesse Tampa 2 players. The defense will be the strong point of the team by the end of the season. IMO, the Bills will have a wild card berth into the playoffs and go further than anyone expected (like the Jets last season).
