Just wanted to share that I heard Kirk Morrison on the Brian Kenny Show last night on ESPN Radio. They didn't talk about a lot. He was asked to reflect on the Tony Gonzalez tweet and the Lance Briggs contract situation. As far as pertaining to the Bills he said he had other options and decided to come to Buffalo because he loved the small market feel and that "lights out" recruiting from Merriman really influenced his decision. Also, he stated that what he loves most about the team is that he can walk into the locker room and no one has an ego. Everyone has a role and knows their part and that they all get along like a family. Also, after listening to him talk he can actually form sentences and sounds intelligent. Maybe that doesn't matter much, but I always hate interviews when the person can't even pronounce words and string thoughts together. Anyway, he sounds like a standup guy, and I'll be looking forward to watching him this year.

Cowherd is one of my favorite radio personalities to listen to. I've come to discover most people do not like him because he's too honest with his opinions and says what is really on his mind instead of kissing up to this or that or whatever all other national media is loving on any given day.

Official Non-Bills Draft Thread

If Bowers is there at 34 would you take him? I say yes. -
QB to take 3rd round or later?
DisplacedBillsFan replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh yea, I completely forgot about Taylor. That would be interesting. Also, I believe Chan would be able to utilize a mobile QB really well. -
If we pass on any remaining highly talked about QBs that may still be there in the 2nd round (Mallet, Dalton, etc.), is there a QB you would take in the 3rd round or later? None come to mind for me.

The bills would have likely taken Gabbert

Guess we dodged two bullets then not taking Newton or Gabbert...things are actually working out for us. The fact we would have taken Gabbert 3rd concerns me a little though. -

Anyone know details of the Jax and Washington trade? -
Would you mind if the Bills trade back twice ??
DisplacedBillsFan replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So a couple of days ago there was a rumor about us swapping #3 for the Pats' #17 and #28. If we could do this and grab Ryan Kerrigan at 17 and then either Dalton/Kapernick at #28 I would be a really happy Bills fan! Is this likely, no. But, I might as well dream for another 90 minutes. -
According to ESPN Carolina will take Newton, Dareus, Peterson, or Green. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6438623

Post draft quote we can count on.

Of course they're not going to say that...and hopefully in a post draft press conference they don't actually feel that way either or else there would be reason to worry! -
Post draft quote we can count on.
DisplacedBillsFan replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This wasn't actually meant to be negative. The guy we pick could be a complete stud. I'm just saying this is the type of quote we always get from Nix, Gailey, and company, no matter the situation. I'm fairly new to the board but actually couldn't be happier with the progress this organization has shown with the new coaches and FO. Is it perfect? No, but no team is. And I honestly believe the Bills are headed in the right direction! However, I'm optimistic about the Bills every year...even when Dick was coach. -
So we know the Bills have said they will have their top 3 players picked out so that they will be guranteed to get one of them when their pick comes. No matter which player they pick I know the quote that will follow ... "We were really happy to see (insert name) still there when we were on the clock. He was actually the player we had ranked first on our board, so we're really excited."

It was pointed out on the Doug Gottlieb show this afternoon that this extension is actually a fairly good sign because it means the 3rd party mediator feels the two sides are close enough to a deal that the extra week could be enough to come to an agreement.

"Hey I play for Pitt football...please don't arrest me." ... That's not too bad considering he could have went the route of...I'm Jason Douglas of the Pitt Panthers. I'm worth...at least $15,000 in scholarship money!"

Another hypothetical - DE
DisplacedBillsFan replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The possibility of getting him was hypothetical, not him playing DE. And, this guy is way more talented than Maybin, and actually has some work ethic. You don't have to have superstar talent and ideal size to be successfull. Kyle Williams is a perfect example of that. -
So there are already a ton of "what ifs" all over this board, but hey that is what January is for when you're a Bills fan! So here is another one. What if we could trade down to the middle of the first round and pick up some extra picks. How would you feel about Purdue DE Ryan Kerrigan? I watched him play almost every week, and the dude can influence a game. Many mock drafts have him in the #15 - #20 range. He played against solid talent in the Big 10. Sure, it's not the SEC, but it's also not the Mountain West. Just looking for some thoughts on how you would feel about him as a Bill. Below is a link for a highlight video.

He seems like a natural pass rusher because he is. He played on the line at James Madison and caused chaos for opposing QBs week in and week out. I attended college there and was fortunate enough to watch him play every week.

There were a lot of people on this board who really wanted us to take Skelton. With Arizona not selecting him until the 5th round, we easily could have grabbed him if we wanted to. With the Cardinals announcing that Skelton will get the start this weekend, I figured it would be a good time for everyone to share some thoughts on the kid. How do you think he will do this week? Anyone still upset we did not take him in the draft? As for my opinion.. I think he will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 215 yards 2TDs and 1 INT. I was never that big of an advocate in the first place, so I'm fine that we didn't select him.

QB Standings Going Into This Weekend
DisplacedBillsFan replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No love for Kellen Moore? Say what you want about him, but the kid knows how to win. That is something this organization needs. -
Since we just got Moats under contract I figured I would post the link for this article for those of you that have not seen it. Detailed information about Moats starts in the 3rd paragraph. Enjoy http://www.jmusports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?...TCLID=204935574

Bills entertain 6 prospects on Monday
DisplacedBillsFan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you have not seen Arthur Moats you should check the guy out. He is an absolut beast. His pro day was phenomenol, and it appears the Patriots are very interested and may snag him with one of their 100 picks before we even get the chance. This should be a guy the Bills are all over.
