  1. The addition of James Wilder to this list makes me think the Bills won't be drafting a RB. I think you'll see at least one undrafted rookie brought in to compete with Gillislee. It will be a McCoy type rather than a Karlos Williams type, and he will have good receiving skills, and a good jump cut. Johnathan Gray is a thought: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/johnathan-gray-vs-west-virginia-2014/ Brandon Ross of Maryland is the other one.
  2. Great write-up. Quick diagnostician making up for lack of lateral speed. If he were there in RD3 (or even late 2nd on a trade-down), I'd seriously consider it. If we could have Lee's sideline to sideline speed with Kentrell Brothers' diagnostic instincts, we'd have a player.
  3. Yes Chandler. I'm sorry. One way the Bills could so this is to go for Su'a Cravens RD2 and play him like a hybrid LB/S. I'm a fan of Darian Thompson (son lives in Boise, so biased) and Kevin Byard.
  4. For those comparing Elijah Shumate SS Notre Dame, and T.J. Green FS Clemson: (Aaron Williams is likely returning as our SS. Bacarri Rambo is a free agent behind him. Meeks, Duke Williams,Chandler, and Leodis if we keep him would be possible FS.) Shumate is the old-timey box safety, good run support, not a cover guy. You would likely take him out on passing downs. He's described as strong, explosive, a very willing hitter, and usually a strong tackler. TJ Green, from Rex's alma mater, maybe came out a year early (so the name fits). He was Clemson's 2nd-leading tackler this year. Green was a WR before switching to Safety, and he's tall (6-2). Good production: 95 tackles, 5.5 TFL, one sack, three PBU and two FF in 2015. He's my choice between those two.
  5. Burgess didn't come out for the draft last year, and it was a so-so decision. He ended up our 11th ranked ILB here: http://www.drafttek.com/2016-NFL-Draft-Prospect-Rankings/Top-College-ILBs-2016-Draft.asp Burgess (6-0, 229) started every game the last two seasons (after Preston Brown left) and is described as an athletic, technically-sound playmaker. I don't think he's as good as Preston Brown, though. This late, Cassanova McKinzy is a thumper, and Antonio Morrison had the best Senior Bowl.
  6. Playing three fewer games this year, and injured for most of a fourth, Higbee outproduced the tight ends above him on most boards. Of course, they were from "bigger" schools. Higbee has played no AP-ranked teams, but has a nice 15.6 ypc against conference teams. I think Clay and Gray get playing time next year, so using a pick this late makes sense (although the Baylor basketball player sounds intriguing). The argument against TE in the draft: We've taken Gragg and O'Leary almost at this same pick in previous drafts, and there are some bargain-basement FA's.

  8. I think we'll see lots of Shaq Lawson...picked by Miami at 8, Giants at 10, Falcons at 17...
  9. Yes! There are some OT diamonds in the rough on Day 3, but each has a chink in his armor. Brandon Shell is ideal for RD3, so if you did keep Kyle Williams and re-sign Stefan Charles or Bryant, you could wait a year on DT. Rex has drafted DL high in 5 of last 6 drafts he's been in. The exception was QB The Sanchise. My favorite RT is Pearce Slater---(140 on our Big Board)--Likely RD5, big, jumbo, run-blocker, good hands, sustains up to the whistle, JUCO, All-MW first team. John Theus---(166)---Drops to here because he's suitable only as RT, less-versatile than Urbik imho
  10. You are allowed, but I think he'll be in the 33-36 range. We'll see what happens.
  11. Great article on Decker, Conklin, Beavers, Hawkins: http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/16-offensive-tackles-to-know-for-bills-part-1
  12. My comment on The 'Diche: Douche. Famous for being famous.
  13. I just let Draftbreakdown know that we need video on this guy. Met with Panthers, Falcons, Browns, Colts, Jets at E/W Shrine Game. Great writeup: http://www.whosnextfootball.com/#!WNF-Speaks-with-NC-State-OL-Joe-Thuney/cjds/56ab6e290cf231794c617616
  14. Sensational at Shrine (2TD), got invited to Sr. Bowl as a late invite nice comeback when QB in trouble-->netted a reception. That shows a lot about his coaching. good blocking downfield, critical in G-Ro offense Here is some analysis I did of WRs I think might be there at RD3#80, with a couple earlier as a reference. I will add your guys, Bandit!! https://www.zonerama.com/dean/Album/1167622
  15. Thuney I have as a "yes" in RD7, with the note that he's a consummate run-blocker, but loses balance (lunges) when pass-defending. So maybe other pass-happy teams ...er...pass on him.
  16. Yeah, if we're looking for a decent backup QB, we could look at Sudfeld. I'm thinking they pull the trigger on Day 2, likely RD3. Would hope Prescott, Cardale, Cody Kessler, Hogan (in that order) would be there to choose from.
  17. I wonder if Perry won't go to a 4-3 team as a WILL before he gets to us, say, in RD3. I too wonder about tackling with Perry (lets others make the tackle; piles on). Agree about character being off the charts; do you not take a Noah Spence and do take Josh Perry due to character? Hope Bills have moved away a bit from that model.
  18. 63pct, 27TD 7INT this year, big (6-5 240), sprays ball around so he does look at the whole field, turnovers his big problem, missed half the 2014 season due to injury, a little mobility to his game. Comp is Chad Henne.
  19. I just posted this play from the Sr Bowl of RG #73 Sebastian Tretola. Watch him slide down the line and make the block that sprang Aaron Green for the TD. This is the stuff that Greg Roman lusts after.
  20. Tyler DunneVerified account ‏@TyDunne Jan 29 Carson Wentz's QB coach said the #Bills visited campus to see him as much as any team in the league. There's been interest for a while. Not only does the guy have upside, he spent four years in North DeFreakingkota.
  21. Brothers isn't the drop and cover guy, you want Ragland, Fackrell, or FA vet to fill this position. I like Jatavis, he's hybrid OLB- S material and would have a learning curve that Ragland wouldn't have as much, and former Jets LBs wouldn't have hardly at all.
  22. I think these guys moved up as a result of the Shrine Week practices and Shrine Game. These are still Day 3 or Priority Free Agents, but I think they start on an NFL Roster. -Dean OG Alex Huettel (Bowling Green) OG Ted Karras (Illinois) OG Charles Vaillancourt (Laval, Canada) OC Graham Glasgow (Michigan) OT Brandon Shell (South Carolina) FB Derek Watt (Wisconsin) RB Josh Ferguson (Illinois) RB Brandon Ross (Maryland) RT Alex Lewis (Nebraska) QB Vernon Adams, Jr. (Oregon) WRF Geronimo Allison (Illinois) WRF Jared Dangerfield (W Kentucky) WRF Devon Cajuste (Stanford) WRF Chris Brown (Notre Dame) CB/KR Cre'von Leblanc (FAU) CB Brian Poole (Florida) DE43 Victor Ochi (Stony Brook) DE/LB James Cowser (S Utah) DE Tyronne Holmes (Montana) DE David Onyemata (Manitoba) DT Cory Johnson (Kentucky) DT Javon Hargrave (SC State) DT/DE Anthony Zettel (Penn State) S Justin Simmons (BC) S Michael Caputo (Wisconsin) NFLPA Game OT Dominique Robertson (W Georgia) OLB Jatavis Brown (Akron) QB Travis Wilson (Utah) RB Travis Greene (Bowling Green) WRF McKale McKay (Cincinnati) SeniorBowl Rosters: Print Version: North---http://bit.ly/1S5TtAU South---http://bit.ly/1ZYJKRp
  23. I just did an analysis of LTs and RTs in DraftTek's top 100, looking at how far each Tackle would hypothetically fall if they moved to the opposite tackle side. Tunsil---Current slot as LT: 3, 43 as RT Stanley---Current slot as LT:6, 14 as RT (most versatile LT as swing OT) Decker---Current slot as LT: 15, 95 as RT Hawkins---Current slot as LT: 32, 80 as RT Conklin---Current slot as LT: 37, 58 as RT (best value as swing OT) Spriggs---Current slot as LT: 45, 153 as RT Theus---Current slot as LT: 63, 149 as RT Murphy---Current slot as LT: 66, no value as RT Johnstone---Current slot as LT: 82, no value as RT What about RTs? Marz---Current slot as RT: 60, 276 as LT Shell---Current slot as RT: 89, 157 as LT (most versatile RT as swing OT) Stanley will be gone in RD1 before our pick. Conklin is our 5th-rated OT and holds the most value as a swing tackle. Shell is a RT who could swing to LT in a pinch. Marz still might be considered if he drops to Day 3, as far fewer teams are looking for a RT than LT.
  24. Bills will take a Safety early, and fringe fans will be outraged. If value is there, Whaley pulls trigger. He won't reach. Here is where I think he'd perceive value, prior to the Combine: RD2=Vonn Bell Ohio St--ath, coverage safety, aggressive, gamechanger RD2=Darian Thompson Boise St--runstuff, sideline-to-sideline, great size RD3=Jalen Mills LSU--tackler, hands, upside, versatile (FS-SS) RD3=Karl Joseph WVU--tough, explo, aggr, reflexes, out for '15, back by Combine RD3=Miles Killebrew, SUtah-- tallest, fastest SS, exp disguising coverages, base 4-3 RD4=Trent Matthews, Colorado St-- ACL, 50 starts, 273 tkl, 10 INT, 23 deflects career
