  1. I did this last year and it generated a lot of good discussion. I'm giving you four players in each round to choose from. Copy and paste it into your Reply, showing your choice. I'll reply to my own post to demonstrate. The twist is that the Bills have already traded down with Seattle, who wants a DT43 before 2 other teams in their division. That's why the Bills have an extra 3 and 4. You may "write in" your own picks (but as reference, please use DraftTek's Big Board for appropriate pick #) which others may opt to use. You may draft players earlier (but not later). Example: Cardale Jones at RD3-80 instead of RD3-90, but not at RD4-117. You may pick "Hogan-Prescott-Jones"-->all 3 are gone before the Bills' RD4 pick. ~Astro RD1-26 | Paxton Lynch QB Memphis | Kevin Dodd DE43 Clemson | Emmanuel Ogbah OLB34 Oklahoma | Jason Spriggs OT Indiana RD2-49 | Ty Boyd or Braxton Miller WR | Karl Joseph SS West Virginia | Kenny Clark DT34 UCLA | Kyler Fackrell OLB34 Utah State RD3-80 | Joshua Perry OLB34 Ohio State | Joshua Garnett OG Stanford | Chris Jones Jihad Ward DE34 | Javon Hargrave South Carolina St DT34 RD3T-90 | Scooby Wright ILB Arizona | Germain Ifedi RT Texas A&M | Anthony Zettel DE34 Penn State | Hogan-Prescott-Jones QB RD4-117 | Jayron Kearse SS Clemson | Eric Striker OLB Oklahoma | Antwaun Woods DT34 USC | Joel Heath DE34 Michigan St RD4 -124 | Joe Haeg OT North Dakota St | Blake Martinez ILB Stanford | Yannick Ngakoue Maryland OLB34 | Sean Davis FS Maryland RD4T-139 | Josh Tupou or Sheldon Day DT34 | Mehdi Abdesmad DE34 Boston College | Brandon Allen QB Arkansas | Pearce Slater OT San Diego St RD5-156 | TJ Green FS Clemson | Bralon Addison WR-PR-KR Oregon | Matt Ioannidis DE34 Temple | Hassan Ridgeway DT34 Texas RD6-215 | Moritz Boehringer WR Germany | Tajae Sharpe WRF-PR-KR UMass | Roberto Aguayo K FlState | Glenn Gronkowski FB Kansas State RD6-218 | Dadi Nicolas or Curt Maggitt OLB34 | Thomas Duarte TE UCLA | Giorgio Newberry DE34 Florida St | Jacob Coker QB Alabama ----------------------My Choices: ---------------------------- RD1-26 | Kevin Dodd DE43 Clemson | RD2-49 | Kenny Clark DT34 UCLA | RD3-80 | Joshua Perry OLB34 Ohio State | RD3T-90 | Germain Ifedi RT Texas A&M | RD4-117 | Jayron Kearse SS Clemson | RD4 -124 | Blake Martinez ILB Stanford | RD4T-139 | Brandon Allen QB Arkansas | RD5-156 | Bralon Addison WR-PR-KR Oregon | RD6-215 | Moritz Boehringer WR Germany | RD6-218 | Thomas Duarte TE UCLA |
  2. If Paxton Lynch is there at 19, I take him, not to play in 2016-17 but to work with David Lee on drops and reads. If you say we can't neglect the DL talent in this draft, I fully agree. The latest DraftTek draft shows that very scenario. The Bills get Lynch, Floyd, then ==> http://www.drafttek.com/2016-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round3.asp
  3. Walter Football lists the top 3-4 NTs as, in this order: Kenny Clark Jarran Reed A'Shawn Robinson Vernon Butler Sheldon Rankins Read more at http://walterfootball.com/draft2016positionreviewDT.php#IA0ctZp2AA4yAgrv.99 Reed is listed as best 5-tech and best run defender. If he is there, that's a good fit. He goes to the Bills in RD3 in this week's DraftTek mock.http://www.drafttek.com/2016-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round3.asp
  4. Defensive Front 7 fitting our system that I think might be there at #19 (My order of preference FOR THIS DEFENSE): Shaq Lawson (won't be there, but a fellow can dream) Jarran Reed as a DT34 - Statistically the best run-stopper 2 years running. Andrew Billings as a DT34 and DT43 - Slides Dareus out to 5-tech, needs to platoon with TJ Barnes and maybe a Day3 pick Sheldon Rankins as a DT43 --I like him less as a DE34 than DT43, but he's amazing as a runstopper, which was awful in 2015. Leonard Floyd Georgia OLB34 -- great player ranked here mainly because I don't see him at DE, size issue Robert Nkemdiche as DE34 but also DT43 - interviews didn't go well. Bills want less risk, but this is high reward. Speed's a concern, but not if falling out a window. Noah Spence as an OLB34/DE43 - Dropped a bit after Combine interviews; Shaq Lawson essentially switched places with him. Kevin Dodd Clemson as a OLB34 -He's 6'5" 280, also plays DE43 Jonathan Bullard as a DE43, but little dropoff as a DE34. I see him being drafted by 4-3 team earlier
  5. De'Runnyea Wilson came in the tallest at the Combine, but I hope we don't take him. I have him 14th-best WR, with one of the largest decreases in ypc when playing AP-ranked teams. In 2013, 14th WR picked went at RD4#123. In 2014, 14th WR picked went at RD3#91.
  6. Also key for the ones who can't. Ragland, Fackrell move up, Kwiatkowski, Schobert, Norris, McKinzy down.
  7. I'm not all that sure he'll be drafted. Maybe a 7th rounder, compensatory?
  8. Premium OTC, with trades: (I ignore the recommended needs, as Bills will fill LB spot with FA, they need RT more than OG, and S more than CB) 1: R1P19 OT JASON SPRIGGS --top OL Sr. Bowl, lateral quicks (former TE), can get to 2nd level, quick study, allowed 1 pressure in 437 snaps, most LT upside INDIANA 2: R2P18 WR MICHAEL THOMAS --6'3", 210, possession WR, feet, solid to work middle, tough, my-ball mentality, dependable, Keyshawn's nephew, athletic, YAC OHIO STATE 3: R3P29 DT ANTHONY ZETTEL --the reason Nassib is even considered a first rounder is Zettel and Austin Johnson. We get one of them. PENN STATE 4: R4P28 K ROBERTO AGUAYO --Most impact on the score in this round. FLORIDA STATE 5: R5P17 TE TYLER HIGBEE --My favorite TE in the draft not named Hunter. Good blocks, a mid-major like Clay was, size, frame, length WESTERN KENTUCKY 6: R6P10 DE AZIZ SHITTU --1st team All-PAC12, Rose Bowl DMVP, quickness, penetrator, disruptor, needs strength program. Watch game vs Iowa STANFORD 7: R6P21 DE OLB JAMES COWSER--Experience dropping into coverage from DE spot SOUTHERN UTAH 8: R6P24 QB KEVIN HOGAN--sit him and have David Lee work with him. STANFORD
  9. I hope Bills bring in a FA for LB so we don't have to draft LB this year. Injuries, bad scheme fits, "the jury's out" guys...
  10. Remember Mayock ranking Gabbert "Top 1" in the draft. LOL! Puts this all in perspective. Some GMs are going to like Goff's tight spiral for their outdoor conditions. Others will like Lynch's "size you can't teach". I bet somebody in RD3 will like Dak Prescott's mobility (I hope it's nobody before RD3#80). We're throwing darts blindfolded.
  11. Pre-Combine/Pre-FA Prediction: the pick at which each QB goes: 1 2 Cleveland Jared Goff QB California 1 13 Philadelphia Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St 1 15 Los Angeles Paxton Lynch QB Memphis 2 41 Chicago Connor Cook QB Michigan St 3 80 Buffalo Dak Prescott QB Mississippi St 4 115 NY Jets Kevin Hogan QB Stanford 4 116 Houston Brandon Doughty QB Western Kentucky 5 153 Kansas City Christian Hackenberg QB Penn State
  12. LOL! Pegula's jet got in at 1:05am last night for Combine interviews, which begin today. Talk about cutting it close.
  13. Given that he's the slightest of the 12 top-ranked FS's, I'd worry about the injury possibility. The timing will the an enemy of the Bills in selecting FS, I bet. Jalen Ramsey will be long gone, Darian Thompson could be in the 33 range, so gone before our second pick. Keanu Neal might be there at RD2#49. We have H-C going in RD3.
  14. Boyd has the highest yards at KR-PR in the draft. Carroo has the highest ypc vs AP-ranked teams. Knock on Boyd is his low yards per catch, but he was used differently than Fuller or Carroo.
  15. Baltimore likes him at 6. Our Ravens Analyst: "At the NFL Scouting Combine, Treadwell will get the opportunity to put questions about his speed (and height) to rest. Despite Steve Smith returning, the Ravens are in desperate need of some playmakers on offense. Anyone's guess is as good as the next when it comes to Breshad Perriman, and since Joe Flacco got his big payday, they have lost Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith. Treadwell would immediately become Flacco's top target, with his combination of athleticism and physical play."
  16. The 12 Big Boards I monitor range from 9th to 33rd. It depends on what Big Board you're looking at. I actually have Doctson, Michael Thomas, Ty Boyd, and Leonte Carroo as better choices.
  17. Bills really think they have the QB Whisperer on their staff. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/lee_david/49968f10-6ab2-488d-abc0-852291512e71 This means that: (1) They still think they can make EJ into a starting QB. (2) They can take a developmental QB late and mold him into a starting QB, providing competition for T2's backup. Or both. But if Paxton Lynch fell to them at #19, I don't think they would upset the apple cart by taking him. I think they wait until Day 2 or 3.
  18. "Hello, I'm Astrobot, and I've been rooting for something different to happen for 15 years."
  19. Silver Sneakers on Excellus Medicare means $25 PER YEAR to join the Y. That's for everything. I do two fitness classes, walk a mile 5x a week, and do Nautilus 2x.
  20. I think poise in an interview won't answer the onfield leadership questions. Cook will still be one of the more overdrafted players this year. I'm starting my list with Diche, Dodd, and Cook.
  21. How early would you take Hogan? I would not be surprised if, in RD4, the Jets take him over Doughty. Bad news for them, they'd have to leapfrog us to take him,
  22. After dropping him 3 slots this week, we still have Treadwell at 8 on our Big Board. Short of showing up in a wheelchair at his Pro Day, he won't be there at RD1#19 LOL! http://www.drafttek.com/Top-100-NFL-Draft-Prospects-2016.asp
  23. Sources deep within! I do spend too much time at the computer...But I will say that I just retired, I've begun an exercise program, and am in a Bills 12-step program.
  24. I said one-year wonder. I want to correct myself. 5-week wonder. This guy's getting RD1 hype but a year ago, Dodd made 8 tackles in a season. A Season!!!
  25. I could see Hogan as a choice. Remember the Stanford connection there. I don't believe that the Bills will take an earlier QB because they won't want to create a QB controversy. This may be the wrong approach in the long run, however. We have plenty of backup QBs; if Goff-Lynch is somehow there in RD1 (or if Dak is there in RD3), you pull the trigger regardless of controversy. Call it competition for Tyrod--and just do it. 1 19 Buffalo Josh Doctson WRF TCU 2 49 Buffalo Kyler Fackrell ILB Utah State 3 80 Buffalo Dak Prescott QB Mississippi St 4 114 Buffalo Josh Tupou DT34 Colorado 5 144 Buffalo Robert Aguayo PK Florida St 6 174 Buffalo T.J. Green FS Clemson
