Yup, that's exactly right. Plus Wright got blown off the line many, many times. He was tough but just too small. Same with Kyle. He's not built to tie up two OL , he's meant to penetrate.

Then there's the Jets...great OL and superstar QB....errr, not so much. Trent could have excelled behind the Jets line and running game. Sanchez varied from sucking to not sucking too badly and look how far the Jets went last year. How great did Brady look on his butt after the Giants pounded him in the SuperBowl? How great did Aikman look when his line and running back were gone? Great QB's look like crap when they have no blocking and no running game. Why is that so difficult to understand?

I agree. He played well with a rotation of has beens and scrubs around him. Center will need an upgrade sometime, but that is far, far from our biggest need on the O line. He is a huge upgraded from the prior years.

Thanks. Not sure how valid this guy is but I'm an addict to this kind of stuff. Interesting way to get a grasp on draft choices we haven't had a chance to see play.

Fair enough. That choice made me wince like no other since the announced the name Erik Flowers. That said, I think Buddy and Chan are not going to puke it up like that.

If the proven guy doesn't want to finish his career with a rebuilding team, it ain't going to happen. If McNabb signs and extension, it's a no-brainer to give up a #2. If he won't, what's the point? Give up a #2 for one year? I have faith Buddy is doing what he can on this.

I disagree. With colleges playing mainly the 4-3, DE's in the 250 - 260lb range are common, but don't always translate to playing LB. Our DE's in last year's 4-3 ranged from 245lbs to 270lb. Bruce Smith played at about 262lbs and Phil Hanson about 270-275lbs, both in a 3-4 system. I think the point of the article is true NT's and pass rushing LB's for a pro 3-4 are tricky to draft as they do not play those positions in college. Most DT's coming out of college are around 290 to 300lbs. Good for a 4-3 but undersized for a NT in a pro 3-4.

+1. Let'em all line up and see who wins. This kid can hit and he's got the attitude we need. There's been lots of undersized linebackers who get it done. Screw the measuring tape and let'em win it or lose it on the field.

He's a nice player but not a NT. Too small and too light - Kyle Williams 2.0. We have enough tweeners. We need a wide body ala Ted Washington in that spot.

Even so, I'm feeling like Hamlet about this. On the one hand, McNabb is light years better than what we have and is said to have three more seasons in him. On the other hand, we're buidling with the draft and losing a top pick like a #2 right now seems steep. On the other hand, take McNabb and a draft a QB to groom............and on it goes. I just hope he does have a few good seasons left and this is not a Russ Brandon "let's sell season tickets" move.

He was a rook from a small school. A year under his belt he might be worth another look. Has prototypical size, why not take a shot? CFL has produced a lot of good players for the NFL.
