  1. That is what Allen needs to learn to do.
  2. Need a stop here. Hold them to a FG and give Allen a 2:00 offense chance.
  3. They also have top 4-5 offenses instead of this mess
  4. Nice pass even if it was short of the 1st down
  5. I’m not an Allen hater. The pass to Benjamin was perfect. The 3rd down pass to Jones was OK, but would have required a great catch. i really want to see him start taking some easier shorter throws. I like that he is looking down field, but he is waiting too long for something long to open up, then he doesn’t even look for a safety valve.
  6. Allen needs to learn to take some of the easy dump off throws instead of running. On his last run Jones was wide open in the right flat.
  7. Agreed, for perspective, those impatient folks would have run the following stars out of town: OJ Simpson failed to gain more than 750 yards in his first 3 seasons, yet ran for 2000 in the next season- in 14 games (vs today’s 16) Troy Aikman in his first 3 seasons threw for 31 TDS vs 46 INTS. Steve Young had 11 TDS and 21 INTS in his first 2 seasons. A little closer to home, check out: Eric Moulds averaged 25 catches and 1 TD in his first 2 years. Bruce Smith had 6.5 sacks his first year.
  8. Lawson has played well this year and seems to have learned what it takes to be a pro. Two things though: 1. I would not kick Trent Murphy to the curb - his effort and talent are high level, only injuries have held him back. 2. While still too early to declare Lawson fully “there”, 2a. Fans are WAY too fast to judge young players. MANY here wanted to run Lawson out of town. 2b. Lawson appears to have “gotten it”, but we need to see at least another year of good performance before we agree that he has turned a corner.
  9. Perhaps I was wrong ?, great stand by D and Allen has hit a couple nice passes to get in scoring position.
  10. Game is pretty much over now. Bills offense has done zero since those two early TDS
  11. Bill Belichick would like to remind us that he has done alright as a defensive minded HC.
  12. You do have to have someone wanting to trade up, if you want to trade down.
  13. Holy cow, how can some here already have written Allen off? I can’t think how you could have put a rookie into a worse situation. Mediocre OL to worse with loss of Wood and Incognito- check. WR group with maybe 1 NFL level starter - and that was “last year’s sure bust” Zay Jones - check. Keep Allen taking 3rd team reps through most of training camp and then throw him into starting lineup with this mess - check. How many games has he started, no supporting group- 6? Yep, let’s conclude that he is terrible
  14. If you watched today’s game and you think that Peterman was the reason that they lost, then I cannot understand your viewpoint.
  15. Peterman wasn’t great, but today he was far from the reason that they lost. If he has to play next week, i could watch. 3 turnovers were not his fault at all. One bumbled pick courtesy of Pryor, one uncalled PI and another deflection INT and finally, completion and fumble by Croom. i am not delusional to the point that I think Peterman is good, but he was far from the worst part of this offense today.
  16. We'll get 'em next year! Seriously, they have room to help the offense in FA, but the draft looks weak in offense - admittedly a long way out. I think that they can be competent on offense next year IF between FA and the draft, they can find 2 WR that can be significant contributors AND if they can find at least 3 competent starting OL. The he cupboard is SO bare on offense that it is realistic to hope/pray for just middle of the pack. And that is only if Josh Allen proves to be the answer at QB. In my opinion, OL is top priority, just to even have a chance. The entire middle of the OL needs to be replaced - and that says something when Jordan Mills at RT isn't one of the top priorities to replace.
  17. Not that Gronk wasn’t worth far more than the 2nd that NE used on him, the reason that he lasted well into the 2nd round was because he had a back injury his last season in college. Of COURSE, if you knew that he would have the career that he did, then the Bills looked foolish passing on the possible HOF hometown boy. However, all 32 teams passed on him because of his back injury.
  18. If I recall correctly, the 2018 draft was Beane’s first in Buffalo. McDermott was here (just new) for the 2017 draft with scouting reports from the lame-duck FO. Was McDermott supposed to trust the evaluations of Whaley and his staff when he (likely) knew that they would be let go right after the draft?
  19. Don’t forget to add in Jordan Mathews who had near 100 yards today. Maybe Doug Whaley was a pretty good judge of talent? Stiil, Bills could not afford to keep all those guys. Watkins is making crazy $ and Robert Woods isn’t cheap.
  20. Wait, thought Rosen was the most pro-ready. Don’t misinterpret my post - I am not saying that Rosen is destined to be bad. IMHO, you can’t really judge any of these guys off their rookie seasons. My point is that a lot of folks thought that Rosen would walk right into the league and thrive - that obviously hasn’t happened. Just in context of Rosen vs Allen - neither should be judged off this season as both are suffering fro poor supporting casts, as well as inexperience.
