and for all we know the scatback mention was bait for the giants which they didnt bite on. Hiring edwards was a dead give away that the 3-4 was on the way, I still don't think it was a big deal. with all the holes we had (qb, lt, wr, de, NT, etc) it was anybodys guess who we were gonna take. As far as the original topic goes, I love the pick of carrington (after finding out who he is) but, the success rate of top rd D-lineman is very low in yrs 1/2, so I am not getting my hopes up for this yr, however, in the future, I think we got a premier playmaker on the Dline
-
i'm sorry, but I fail to see how mentioning that he wanted a scatback (which he got) or openly converting to the 3-4 is a problem. If anything picking up Spiller creates the opportunity to be more creative with the offensive sets. Also, considering that there are several diff't variations of the 3-4, i don't think it matters much that chan confirmed the switch. Now talking up the no-huddle last year was stupid, but these two situations are hardly comparable IMO.

A mental and physical midget, plus a thief to boot, no thanks

If Thigpen is cut, Gailey will pick him up
CarolinaBill replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Y'all know thigpen was the third string QB in kc right. If croyle and huard hadn't gotten hurt he would've never played, so why does everyone seem to think he would be chans "chosen" qb. The guy had to revamp the offense for the kid so he could run it, he's not that special. And albany, bulger, delhomme, and warner. 3 qbs of recent memory to have great careers or go to a SB all of which were either PS players or UDFA's. So don't count brohm out just yet. -
Question WRT The Spiller Selection
CarolinaBill replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spiller is the same size as thurman, he's not small. Senior yr he had over 200 carries, translate that to a pro season its over 300 carries which is right there with every other primary back in the league. Virtually evvery team uses 2 backs. Barring injury there's no good reason to think he won't be a very productive #1 rb for buffalo. Compare spiller to every teams primary back. You'll find the 5-11 200 lbs is not "small" or undersized. Unless we're talking brandon jacobs -
ok, I'm not singling you out here, cause others have echoed this statement, but for those who are criticizing this guy for not restraining this girl, I would love to see you try to handcuff a pissed of black chick against her will, you may find it is not as easy as you would expect, or anybody for that matter. IMO he should've peppersprayed the girl in pink as soon as she touched him.

Classy ladies right there. I hope they enjoy their new govt housing and meal program, they certainly deserve it.

My God, look at the wobble on the deep ball attempts...
CarolinaBill replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
except GB didnt let him go, they matched buffalos offer sheet and brohm chose to go to buffalo b/c he knew Aaron rodgers wasnt going anywhere, and he wanted the chance to start. -
Just dont look at the stats too much, over 90% of 1st yr dlineman that last 8 yrs have had below avg #'s, plus being a NT he wont have big #'s anyway. oh, and mccargo and troup arent remotely close to being the same, aside from both being dlinemen.

What do we know about McNeil and Jackson?
CarolinaBill replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
neither has signed their respective tender and thus CANNOT be traded. both have been viewed as good work ethic/character guys until now mcneill has a history with neck injuries most importantly THEY CAN'T BE TRADED AT THIS TIME. -
They also offered to cut him before the bonus was paid so he could go find a 4-3 team as a FA, but he said no, I want the $$$, and now he's crying. sorry darth, but there is something very wrong about that. they offered him the perfect solution. instead he took the $$$. Grow up Albert and play out the contract you agreed to.

to protect and serve, help maintain order that girl was resisting arrest and her friend was obstructing justice, both should be arrested and charged
-
wow, that was ridiculous. That guy shouldve tasered both those chicks. Some people dont seem to understand the concept of what the police are there to do, the guy wouldve never hit the other chick had she not interfered with the arrest, thats a crime, they should both be locked up. sad, sad day when its ok to assault a police officer

I've said this before, and I'll say it again... Fred Jackson is a nice story, he came in with zero expectations, worked hard and had a nice year, HOWEVER, marshawn brings certain things to the field that fred doesnt have, its just that simple, both are good at what they do, but they do it in different ways. As im sure we all know fred is more elusive and shifty, but slower. Marshawn is more a one cut bulldog type, he has a bit more speed, but not the breakaway speed that spiller has. So why do we have to bash any of them to make a case. I am confident that Mr. Gailey will find ways to maximize the talents and potential from all 3 of these guys. Cheer up, don't worry, it'll be alright
-
thats true, i was thinking more along the lines of the traditional single back set or i-formation with a FB, but lynch could fill in at FB or they could run the split back set with any combo of the 3. its gonna be fun to see what chan comes up with
-
Im approaching this 3 rb situation like this, freddy will prob get more reps in the first 6 games, but as the season progresses, spiller ability will win him the job for 1st and 2nd down with lynch and FJ splitting 3rd, and the downs that CJ is split out wide. Marshawn should be a good goalline/redzone threat with his lower body strength. what does all this mean, well CJ will have alot of chances to showcase that breakaway speed and playmaking ability, FJ will extend his career by going back to the change of pace guy that he should be, and Lynch stays happy with limited carries, but more TDs (increasing his fantasy value). IMO, this is the best way it could turn out. Will it happen IDK, but one can only hope
-
I will say that if ML stays in buffalo he will be a great redzone/goal line player.

Seahawks Still Quite Interested In Lynch
CarolinaBill replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
maybe a performance incentive escalator could get it done like a 4th that jumps to a 2nd? IDK, just throwing that out there, or the 3-way trade with baltimore would work for me too -
A clever edit, it was, Sir. Bravo

BTW, the rusty rudder, a bar on the water @ lake Norman outside charlotte, NC has a beerpong table that was always in high demand, I was there for 2 wks opening a store a few yrs ago, and most nights there was a line for the table, it was a big hit. competitive stuff and booze just seem to go together for many folks

no problem with the first bolded part, in fact I totally agree. but the pics on the site are pretty funny, some of those guys got real creative with it. as for the second part, well, what can I say, some people arent as social as others, myself, I have no problem striking up conversation with total strangers, however, not everybody is like me, and thats a good thing. When I hosted a party in the past i tried to have things that were fun and appealed to the mass audience, beerpong was usually a big hit. Never been a big fan of drunks with guns, or breaking stuff for no good reason. Again, I have no preference in reference to beerpong, I usually play a game or two then let the chicks get in on it, its more for them anyway. I guess I dont find it as offense as some of you, but I think we are all in agreement that actually playing the "ICED" game is really stupid. Oh and about the other party activities you listed, drugs are out of the question, sorry. not my thing, conversation is tricky around strangers, drunks are volatile, esp the ones you dont know, so I try to keep it light and innocuous, nothing thought provoking, which as Im sure you can tell gets old, fast. As for sex, well, thats always a nice bonus, but I dont think that would go over well as an expected activity. among close friends, the conversation is better, but i still try to avoid politics and religion, its a standard bar rule, and I have a diverse group of friends so I prefer to avoid that. As i stated previously, my first choice is cornhole or darts, horseshoes.

New QB possibility? Free agent to be
CarolinaBill replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
quinns game has never been the deep ball, he's been more of a dink-n-dunker, and one of the many criticisms ive read about him is that like edwards he lacks the top end arm strength to drive the ball downfield frequently and successfully. -
i guess the question is, if games like beerpong are stupid, what do the detractors propose ppl do at parties to pass the time? thats all it is, a time passer, you incorporate something that most ppl like, a fun and easy game, and what they are there to do, drink, and boom, you have beerpong. so I now pose the question, if drinkin games like beerpong are no-go's at your party, what do ppl do for entertainment?
-
its more about creating activity, some ppl need stuff like that. esp in large groups, when you got 15-200 ppl or more beerpong is a good activity. when its 3-10, maybe not so much
